At times, your cultural background might be at odds with the dominant culture. Anxiety, grief, or sadness can take a strong hold, and relationships—within your family or community—may feel complicated or stressful. Whatever brings you here, I welcome you as you are and hold your experience with regard. Together, we can gently explore how experience and the intersection of your identities has shaped you. I am a first-generation South Asian (Indian American) therapist offering counseling sessions in Austin and online across Texas. I work with adults and couples who wish to understand how their experiences have informed them and to explore their sense of identity, belonging, and connection with others. My background includes 20+ years of yoga and meditation practice and teaching, which deepened my belief in the connection between body, mind, and heart. I work from a culturally responsive, trauma-informed lens, integrating Somatic Experiencing, parts work, and attachment-focused approaches in ways that feel safe and accessible. I believe that where there is pain, there is also potential for healing—and that clarity, resilience, and hope can come into view with time.
