Hi,
Thank you so much for joining me for today's mantra practice.
We'll be exploring the mantra Engrossed is the Bee of my Mind.
This particular mantra comes from the Self-Realization Institute and was written by Yogananda.
The entire mantra goes,
Engrossed is the Bee of my Mind,
On the blue lotus feet of my Divine Mother.
Our mind can be consumed by so many thoughts throughout the day,
Like a busy bee.
Yogananda asks us to direct that attention by focusing on this mantra and devoting practice to the Divine Mother,
Which he often did,
Invoking the Divine Feminine on our connection with her.
As our mind becomes engrossed,
As the bee becomes engrossed by practicing towards the Divine Mother,
It can't wander off and be busy on so many other thoughts.
And so with that intention,
We'll hold this mantra practice to be busy bees at the feet of the Divine Mother.
I encourage you to sing with me during this practice.
Using our voice to intone a mantra,
To repeat it,
Creates a vibration that runs through our body and uplifts us and uplifts the intention behind that which we sing.
Yogananda said this,
Sound or vibration is the most powerful force in the universe.
Music is a divine art to be used not only for pleasure,
But as a path to realization.
One who sings these songs,
These cosmic chants,
With devotion will find communion with joy and with the Divine.
For today's mantra practice,
I'm going to split it into three parts.
Where we will chant for three minutes and 33 seconds for each of the three parts.
Three represents many different things.
It represents relationship with our body,
Mind and spirit.
It represents our connection with the earth,
Ourselves and the Divine.
As we now move into the practice,
I'll have us move into the time of setting our intention for that which we would like to uplift with our singing.
Bringing your hands into Anjali Mudra or prayer position,
Hands in front of your heart,
With your thumbs gently resting against your chest,
Taking a deep breath in and moving your breath from the earth through your body,
Connecting to your higher self and then gently exhaling.
I'll have you call into awareness the first intention that you would like to set.
This first intention for the first part of our mantra practice will be that which you want to uplift for yourself.
Whether it's something physical,
Emotional,
Spiritual,
Go within now and see what you're called to uplift for yourself.
Take a deep breath in and exhale.
Now we'll be moving into setting our second intention.
It's often a good practice to set an intention to use our mantra practice to uplift another.
So in this intention,
I'll have you call into your heart the name of a person,
Place or situation which you would like to uplift during the second set of the mantra.
Allow the image or word to come into your heart and into your mind.
Now we'll move to setting the intention for the third set of the mantra practice.
For this particular set,
I'll have you set the intention of that which you would like to hand over to the Divine Mother.
Allow the feeling or word to flow into your mind of that which you of that which you no longer need to hold onto,
That which you would like to surrender to the Divine Mother.
Take a deep breath in and exhale.
Let's get ready to move into our mantra practice together.
Feel yourself connected to Mother Earth who gently holds you.
Feel yourself connected to who you are in this moment.
And feel the presence of our Divine Mother as we sing at her feet.
Keeping your hands in Anjali Mudra,
Prayer pose,
With hands at your heart center,
I'd like you to call into your heart,
Into your awareness,
And into your mind the first intention that you set.
Take a deep breath in and exhale.
Divine Mother,
Divine Mother,
My Divine Mother,

We'll chant om together one time to uplift this first set.
Take a deep breath in.
Om.
Now continuing to hold your hands in Anjali Mudra,
Prayer pose,
Hands in front of your chest.
I'll now have you call into your mind and into your heart the second intention that you have set for this practice.
The name of a person,
Place or situation which you would like to uplift.
Call this into your heart and we'll begin the second set.
Take a deep breath in.

Continuing to keep your hands in prayer position on Jalimudra at your heart center.
I'll now have you call into your awareness,
Into your heart,
That third and last intention,
That which you are offering to let go to the divine.
Call this into your heart.
Take a deep breath in and exhale.
And we'll begin the third set now.
Take a deep breath in.

I'm grateful that you joined me and I hope that the Divine Mother continues to be present for you throughout your day.
I'd like to close with this short poem by John O'Donoghue.
May all that is unforgiven in you be released.
May your fears yield their deepest tranquilities.
May all that is unlived in you blossom into a future graced with love.
Have a beautiful day.
Namaste.
