So today we're going to be working with the fifth chakra,
The throat chakra.
Throat chakra is related to anything to do with speaking or listening.
So it's the throat,
The thyroid,
The parathyroid,
The jaw,
The neck,
The mouth,
The tongue,
And also the ears.
So it's about sound and vibration and listening.
It's about communication.
So it's whether you express yourself,
Your authentic expression.
And we are to speak and listen with a compassion.
So it's not okay to just say anything because you think it's the way you say it.
So can you maybe think about what is it you're going to say?
Is it necessary to say it?
And is it delivered kindly?
And sometimes the throat chakra can be blocked because we hold our voice.
We don't think we can say something or we have to hold back what we're really feeling.
Maybe out of fear,
Fear of being or hurting someone or fear of not being accepted or fear of they're going to judge us for what we say.
You may have been told to be quiet maybe when you were younger and that's stopped you from feeling that you can just say it out loud.
But it's also recognizing your own truth and saying your own truth to yourself,
Not necessarily to somebody else.
That's recognizing our own truth,
Accepting our own truth.
And when we are aligned,
It allows for artistic expression.
It allows you to say what's on your mind but with a mindful quality of voice,
With compassion.
It also allows you to be able to listen with compassion and pay full attention to ourselves as well as to others.
So also when you are holding back what you're saying that has a physical effect on the body.
So you may suffer from sore throats,
Neck tension,
Shoulder tension,
Your jaw may be tight.
So you'll be gripping your jaw,
Grind your teeth,
Have TMJ.
So all these physical elements are coming through you not expressing yourself.
You're not owning your own truth or allowing it to be heard.
So as this is also about vibration,
Then humming is a really good way to help activate that vibration.
The Bijan mantra is hum and there's also Sat Naam which is a good one for activating the throat chakra and that means truth is my identity.
The Sanskrit word is Vishuddha which means purified or clarified.
So just maybe some different mantras that might work for you maybe and see which resonates with you.
Feel free to choose your own.
I have a voice.
My voice has a right to be heard.
I speak my truth with compassion.
I speak and listen with kindness and compassion.
I allow myself to be heard.
I let go of all limitations that block me from speaking my truth.
I express myself freely.
I pay full attention and listen easily.
Maybe you choose to just focus on the colour blue and a spinning blue orb in the centre of the throat,
Noticing its tone and its quality and its vibrancy.
So see what feels right.
And so in this time,
Listen in,
See what comes up,
Set your intention,
Pick your mantra or your sound,
Your vibration and take in the sounds of the crystal ball which is playing in the frequency of the throat chakra.
So choosing a mantra that's right for you.
Enjoy.
