So Hum: A Breath of Belonging This gently guided meditation invites you to rest in the sacred rhythm of your breath, returning home to your natural state of wholeness. So Hum—a Sanskrit mantra meaning “I am That”—is both a breath mantra and a pathway to belonging. As you inhale with So and exhale with Hum, you’re softly reminded: you are enough, you are connected, you are not separate. Whether you are navigating transition, seeking inner steadiness, or simply longing to pause and reconnect, this practice welcomes you just as you are. Together, we follow the breath like a thread of silk, leading inward towards spacious presence. You may wish to bring a favourite crystal or rest your hands on your heart as we begin. Let each breath become a gentle affirmation—anchoring you, embracing you, and restoring your quiet strength. Namaste, Sue.

Living Yoga with Sue Dawson Soham meditation,

The breath of being,

I am that.

Settle down.

Close your eyes and turn your gaze inward,

As though listening to the quiet hum beneath the surface of your thoughts.

Bring your attention to your breath,

Natural,

Unhurried,

Already guiding you home.

Within each inhale,

Silently say,

Soh.

With each exhale,

Silently say,

Om.

Soh Om.

I am all that is.

I am enough.

Let the breath lead.

No need to force or shape it.

Allow the rhythm to soften your edges,

To return you to your essential self.

So drawing in the presence of life,

The vast expansive consciousness that lives through you,

Releasing all that is not yours to carry,

Melting in the truth of your being.

Allow these two sacred syllables to become a lullaby for your nervous system,

A quiet remembering,

A dissolving of separation.

And as you repeat Soham,

Feel yourself aligning,

Not with an identity or a role,

But with the awareness itself,

Spacious,

Whole and awake.

If the mind wanders,

That's perfectly natural,

Just gently return to the mantra and the breath.

Soham.

Om.

Let it ripple through your body like a vibration of peace.

You might feel as though you are not just breathing,

But being breathed by something vast,

Wise and deeply loving.

Rest here,

Bathed in presence and steeped in enoughness.

And when you're ready to return,

Bring a gentle movement to your fingers and toes.

Place your hands over your heart and whisper softly.
