Day 7,

Sharing Joy.

Welcome back.

In the last session,

We explored the practice of self-compassion.

Today's objective is to discuss the strategies of spreading joy to friends,

Family,

And the community.

Today's theoretical approach has one part.

The practice has one segment.

The theory for this section states that understanding the importance of sharing joy with others contributes to your overall well-being and joyfulness.

Sharing the joy.

A Swedish proverb says,

Quote,

Shared joy is double joy.

Shared sorrow is half sorrow,

End quote.

Therefore,

When we tell others about our joys,

About our happiness and accomplishments,

It makes us happier because we see others around us pleased.

Contrary to popular belief,

When we share our struggles,

Our heartbreaks,

And failures,

They seem to lessen because we feel that we're not alone.

We're not alone in this human journey and that people care about us.

A quality that not only benefits others but also improves your well-being is sharing joy.

You can make a good impact in your life,

Maybe better than good,

And the lives of those around you by realizing the value of sharing joyfulness,

Learning techniques for doing so,

And experiencing the gratifying results of doing so.

Sharing joy's capacity to reinforce social ties is one of its fundamental characteristics.

You develop stronger bonds and a sense of oneness through bringing joy to your friends and bringing joy to your family and the community.

And this social support system,

In turn,

Enhances your state of joy and general well-being.

Sharing joy also entails being polite and giving,

And these can be simple deeds that can make someone's day a little better.

Even just a smile,

A praise,

A praise that you mean,

Or a helping hand,

Literally.

Engaging in these behaviors generates a sense of purpose and fulfillment.

Sharing joy and feeling its gratifying results is a profound quality,

At least to me.

Your sense of excitement and purpose is reinforced when you see the favorable effects of your actions on other people,

And it serves as a reminder that your happiness can truly change the world,

Starting with your own world.

So what are the benefits for sharing joy?

Number one,

Strengthening social bonds.

A quality that highlights the value of building and growing relationships with others is one's life is the ability to strengthen social ties.

Building and maintaining meaningful relationships with friends and family and the larger community requires time,

It requires effort,

And it requires care.

And this trait acknowledges the importance of social ties as a source of comfort and a source of support and happiness.

And also,

It is important to give as well as receive in order to strengthen those social ties.

It entails deeds of kindness and empathy and comprehension that promote reciprocity and trust.

It's about being there for people and making a difference in their life,

Even in the smallest way,

And in some cases,

Especially in the smallest of ways.

A happy and contented life is frequently built on the relationships forged through those types of exchanges.

Number two,

Collective well-being.

A quality known as collective well-being acknowledges the interdependence of people within a group within a society or even the entire world.

It includes the conviction that a person's well-being is intimately entwined with the well-being of others.

And this trait places a strong emphasis on the value of giving back to society and actively taking part in initiatives to raise everyone's standard of living,

Even if done unintentionally.

Individuals can start a good change wave by putting the well-being of the group first.

Joining forces to combat problems like poverty and injustice or environmental sustainability has an influence beyond those who are directly benefited.

It spreads to society as a whole,

Improving everyone's general quality of life.

And this trait emphasizes the belief that a community's well-being is a mirror of the well-being of each of its constituents,

And in turn,

The well-being of the entire globe.

It serves as a reminder that everyone's happiness is entwined with everyone else's happiness.

Number three,

Positive ripple effect.

The positive ripple effect is an attribute that draws attention to the potency of modest deeds of optimism and generosity and compassion.

It recognizes that one person's good deeds and attitude has a ripple effect that go far beyond their local sphere of influence.

The beneficial ripple effect is evidence of how interrelated people are.

And it demonstrates how one person's positive energy may spread through social networks and communities and even entire societies,

Amplifying happiness.

It emphasizes the idea that making someone's day a little bit better or helping a good cause can have a significant impact,

And ultimately leading to a more joyful and fulfilled world for everyone.

Number four,

Empowerment.

A quality known as empowerment centers on the notion of enabling and improving a person's sense of autonomy,

Control,

And self-efficacy.

And it aims to promote a sense of personal agency,

Empowering people to take control of their lives and make wise choices and effect positive change.

And people who are empowered are better able to overcome obstacles and realize their full potential.

Eliminating barriers and challenges that could impede human progress is an essential component of empowerment.

It entails giving people the abilities,

The materials,

And information necessary to speak up and fight for their interests.

When people feel empowered,

Then they are propelled toward self-actualization and personal fulfillment.

Empowered people are more likely,

I should say,

To create and meet important goals in their personal and their professional and their community lives.

They have the self-assurance to speak up and to look for growth and opportunities and make decisions that are consistent with their goals and their values.

And in the end,

Empowerment is a quality that not only benefits the individual,

But also works toward a more just and equal society in which everyone has the opportunity to succeed.

5.

Positive impact.

Making a positive effect in other people's lives and the wider world is at the heart of the quality known as positive impact.

It's about making a positive impact and leaving a legacy that uplifts and that inspires.

And positive influence acknowledges people's ability to affect change,

No matter how modest or significant.

And that improves the well-being of others and the community.

People that make value,

People that,

I should say,

Are able to value making a difference,

Look for opportunities.

They look for opportunities to assist and to encourage and uplift others in need,

Sometimes without even thinking about it.

It could entail benevolence,

Giving,

Mentoring,

And volunteering.

This trait's core is to cause a chain reaction of goodwill,

Where the generosity started by one person spreads to others,

Building a network of support and well-being.

And even tiny deeds of compassion and consideration can have a significant positive impact on others.

And positive impact is not limited to large gestures.

It serves as a reminder that everyone has the capacity to inspire change and improve the world via their needs and their intentions.

To me,

That's exciting.

And finally,

Number six,

Acts of kindness.

Finally,

The manifestation of empathy and compassion and goodwill in action is what kindness is.

I should say,

They include consciously taking part in behaviors or expressions that aim not just to cheer up,

But to console and support people.

And kindnesses improve the lives of both the giver and the receiver by acting as rays of sunshine,

If you will,

In an often cloudy environment.

Performing acts of kindness is rewarding for both the giver and recipient.

Kindness has been linked to increased feelings of happiness,

And perhaps more importantly to some,

Reduced stress and better mental and emotional health.

Because the person who receives kindness frequently feels motivated to spread it to others.

It has a beneficial domino effect,

If you will.

And so let's sum this up plainly.

Sharing joy not only as a source of happiness for others,

But also for yourself,

Is not only significant,

But an act of kindness to yourself.

What do you think?

How to self-baseline to measure for success?

Discovering that sharing joy creates a positive ripple in your life and in the lives of those you touch is a strong step in the right direction.

How can you touch someone else?

How can you be a source of inspiration to someone else?

What would you have to do?

What would you have to say?

What would you have to mean when you say it?

Food for thought.

Congratulations.

We've reached the end of this session.

And in the next session,

We will explore staying present amidst life's challenges.

Remember,

The more you think on these concepts and use them,

The faster and easier they will work for you.

Thanks again for allowing me to serve you,

And as always,

Remember,

It's a great day to be alive.

And I'll see you in the next session.

Take care,

And bye for now.
