Hello and welcome to this visualization meditation to help you establish your priorities.
I find checking in with and establishing my priorities helps me to live a more intentional life,
As well as it helps me in my decision making or future plans.
My name is Genevieve.
I am a certified psychosynthesis life coach.
Psychosynthesis is essentially the study of the soul,
And it teaches us how to lead our lives from a space of expansion,
Rather than being led by fears,
Worries,
Doubts,
And what ifs.
We are going to step into this meditation.
This is one of my favorite meditations.
And we are going to begin by getting into a comfortable position,
Whether that is lying down,
Seated upright,
Standing,
Whatever helps you to arrive here in this moment.
I'm going to invite you to close your eyes.
And we are going to begin this meditation with a few affirmations to help us arrive in this present moment.
So you can either repeat aloud after me,
Or simply just repeat in your head.
I am here now.
In this moment is exactly where I am meant to be.
It is safe to be here now.
I will get everything done calmly and easily.
Just for this moment,
I will arrive here fully.
Go ahead and check in with your body.
Are there any spaces that you are still holding tension?
Perhaps inviting the abdomen to soften,
Or inviting your jaw to relax.
Removing your tongue from the roof of your mouth and allowing it to relax.
Inviting your shoulders to soften even more.
And with that,
We are going to take three deep breaths.
We are going to breathe in through the nose,
Hold at the top for just a moment,
And then release through the mouth with a sigh.
And we will begin now,
Breathing in through the nose,
Hold at the top,
And release through the mouth with a sigh.
Again,
Breathing in through the nose,
Breathe deeply into your belly.
Hold at the top,
And release through the mouth with a sigh.
One more deep breath.
Make this the deepest breath yet.
In through the nose,
Hold at the top,
And release through the mouth with a sigh.
And as you rest here,
With your eyes closed,
I want you to turn your attention to your inner world.
The expansive,
Open,
Lively space within you.
What do you see?
What does it look like?
Do you see plants and nature?
Or perhaps you see something more high-tech or futuristic.
Maybe you just see lights and shapes.
What does this inner world look like for you?
What is the temperature?
Do you feel hot?
Do you feel cold?
Or perhaps the temperature is just right.
Do you feel safe inside of this space?
Do you feel curious?
Can you see the edges of your inner world?
Or does it go on for infinity?
As you gaze upon and explore this space within you,
I want you to visualize a mountain in this world.
And I want you to envision yourself standing at the base of this mountain.
As you look up at this tall display of Mother Earth in all.
As you move your gaze in front of you,
You see a big golden shopping cart on a pathway that leads directly up to the top of the mountain.
What is this shopping cart doing on this mountain?
You look inside the shopping cart to see what's in it.
And this cart is filled to the brim with parts of you.
Your responsibilities,
Your worries,
Your roles,
Your relationships,
Your doubts.
They are all here in this cart.
You hear a soft voice that says,
Show me you can handle it.
Push the shopping cart up this mountain.
So you begin to push.
Boy is this shopping cart heavy.
You realize you're going to have to take some things out if you're going to move this shopping cart up the mountain.
Our worries nourish this mountain.
The worries you take out of the cart are recycled into nourishing soil for the mountain.
What is the first thing you take out of the cart?
What is the second?
You try to push the cart again,
But you realize it is still too heavy.
What is the third thing that you take out?
The fourth?
You begin pushing the shopping cart again,
But as you're moving,
It still feels so heavy.
The cart is lighter now,
But yet it is still difficult to push.
You are halfway up the mountain and you realize in order to make it to the top,
You're going to have to lighten your load even more.
You now begin taking armfuls of things out,
Leaving them on the mountain to be recycled into new vibrant soil and energy.
You keep removing things until you have only your very basic needs left in the cart.
What is left in this shopping cart?
What are you bringing to the top of the mountain with you?
You begin to push this lighter load up the mountain,
Thinking to yourself,
Why didn't I do this sooner?
Moving this light load up the mountain,
You feel strong and empowered.
Visualize yourself effortlessly moving this shopping cart to the top.
You smile as you admire how strong that person pushing this cart is.
As you reach the top of the mountain,
You feel accomplished,
Strong,
And brave.
You then gaze into your cart again.
This cart that was once filled with heavy,
Dark worries,
Doubts,
And responsibilities is now filled with your golden core values,
Your priorities.
The values may be big,
But they are light,
And moving with them makes you feel strong.
You thank your shopping cart for carrying all of the weight you originally thought you needed,
And you then thank yourself for being brave enough to try to carry all of that weight that you originally thought you needed.
Now give gratitude towards this mountain.
What qualities does a mountain have?
A mountain stands tall,
Completely exposed to all of the elements around it,
Completely vulnerable to the things that may disrupt it.
Rocks falling,
Animals digging in,
Water flowing viciously,
And still the mountain stands tall,
Stable,
And exposed.
The mountain does not brace.
The mountain does not shy away.
The mountain trusts that it is strong enough to handle whatever may come toward it.
You look down at yourself and realize you hold all of the qualities of this mountain.
The person underneath all of these worries,
Responsibilities,
And fears,
That person is brave.
That person is vulnerable.
That person does not brace,
And they know they do not need to shy away.
You are strong,
And you trust that you are able to handle anything that may come toward you.
Now open your eyes with a soft gaze.
With your eyes open,
Continue extending into and feeling these empowering qualities,
And the experience that you just had in that inner world.
What does it feel like to be you right now?
We will take three more deep breaths to close this meditation.
You can do so with your eyes in a soft gaze,
Or close them again,
Or keep them open.
Breathing in deeply through the nose,
Hold at the top,
And out through the mouth.
Again,
In through your nose,
Hold at the top,
And out through the mouth.
And one final breath in through the nose,
Hold at the top,
And release through the mouth.
Thank you so much for joining me for this meditation.
I invite you to write down what was left in your shopping cart,
And also write down the first few things that you took out of your shopping cart.
Here we are playing with the subconscious,
So those things should be pretty important.
And I'm curious as to what other lessons this visualization may hold for you.
So get curious about them and explore them.
As I said,
My name is Genevieve McKenzie,
And I look forward to meditating with you again in the future.
Take care,
And I hope you have a lovely day.
