My name is Courtney,

Also known as Self Care Creature,

And this is a meditation designed to help you develop and feel a sense of safety within your own body and within your own life so that you may move with more ease and confidence in your life.

This can be a challenging bridge to create for yourself,

And if at any time you experience some resistance that comes up,

I encourage you to journal on this because journaling really helps to rewire the neural pathways,

And you can pause during this meditation at any time and challenge the sensation and the voice that may arise.

Journal about it.

Why does this not feel true for you?

Where is that coming from?

And hold the duality of knowing that is true and that you're also building a new bridge and it may not be completely true for you anymore.

I love this process of challenging our beliefs is essentially what this is.

So it's honoring where you are with the belief that it is not true and also building that bridge towards where you are.

We honor where we were because we know that that has been developed within the intricacies of our human experience and our human system,

The brilliancy of protection mechanisms that form within our nervous system and our brains,

And that we also have this beautiful,

Intelligent capacity to be able to bridge ourselves to a new way of being.

So as you're comfortable,

Find a little bit of movement here and settle in.

Take a couple of nice,

Deep breaths here.

Notice the weight of the arms and the legs,

However they rest,

Wherever they rest.

Begin to feel the face come to its neutral space,

Perhaps separating the jaw,

Letting the tongue move towards the center of the mouth,

Feeling the eyes settle in their sockets,

The brow line unfurrows.

Continuing with your breath here,

Breathing deep into the belly with your inhale,

If possible,

And that gentle release through the exhale.

You are safe to take up space,

Even in small steps.

Repeat this back to yourself after I state it.

I am safe to take up space,

Even in small steps.

Your voice and your presence matter,

Just as you are.

You can move through fear and uncertainty.

Each time you express yourself,

You are building trust in your own strength.

You are worthy,

And you are worthy of being seen,

Heard,

And respected for who you are.

It's okay if you don't feel ready to be seen or heard right now,

But know you are building the bridge to be more seen and more heard in your life.

Even if it's hard to believe,

You are learning that your presence has value and that you You are learning that your presence has value and that you matter.

You can take small steps towards expressing yourself,

And you can go at your own pace.

Your feelings and experiences are real,

No matter what,

Even if you don't want to share right now.

You are learning that your voice and your presence matter,

Even if you don't feel it right now.

You are learning,

You are growing,

And you matter.

Invitation to stay with me here one more minute.

Take a couple more nice deep breaths.

As you're comfortable,

Place a hand on your belly,

A hand on your heart.

Feel the rhythm of your own breath.

Not trying to change anything,

Just simply breathing and noticing here.

Inviting the mind to rest on the breath and regulate the heart rhythm.

Three more full breaths here.

A final nice deep breath,

Followed by a full sigh.

Every little bit counts and matters when you show up for you.

Wishing you well.

Sometimes permission to take up space needs to come from someone other than myself. Thank you for this!
