Hello,

My name is Courtney,

Also known as Self-Care Creature,

And today we're going to go through a grounding exercise with our chakras.

Take a deep breath,

Get settled,

Get comfortable,

And let's begin.

For the first minute or so,

I invite you to just begin taking some nice,

Deep breaths.

As you're comfortable,

Perhaps placing a hand on your heart,

A hand on your belly,

Or just letting your arms rest at your sides,

Or hands placed in the lap,

I wonder if it's possible as you inhale to feel the air expanding your internal organs,

Belly,

Ribs,

Heart space,

Upper back expand.

With every exhale,

Letting all of that air fully dissipate,

Feeling the belly dropping towards the spine,

Helping to kick you into the parasympathetic,

Restful state,

Helping your diaphragm to work properly.

And just noticing how you feel physically,

Emotionally,

Mentally,

And spiritually in this moment.

Taking time to breathe and to notice.

Releasing the jaw,

Relaxing the shoulders,

Settling the hips,

Invitation to bring your awareness to your root chakra,

The base of the spine,

Pelvic floor,

Perhaps envisioning a root cord growing from this space deep into the earth,

Through all of the layers of earth.

And as you breathe in,

You are breathing in the golden light,

Nourishing regenerative energy from the earth.

And with every exhale,

Letting go of what does not serve you at this time,

Just trusting that it is going,

It is returning,

It is transmuting right back to where it came from,

Being recycled.

Another nice deep breath here.

Next bring your awareness to your sacral center,

Between the hips,

The low belly,

Just above the pelvic floor,

Breathing into the color orange as you still sense this root and vine tethering you into golden earth energy.

The sacral center is your creative space.

It is your play space.

It is a foundational chakra that keeps you grounded within your ideas.

It is a place that with time and compassion you may feel safe.

Taking a full breath here.

Next bringing your awareness to your solar plexus,

Just above the belly button and below the diaphragm.

Breathing into another golden light here,

More sunshine yellow than earthly golden color.

And getting this sense for your center of being.

Breathing into this sensation,

This deep inner knowing,

Your house of intuition.

It vibrates.

It exists within you,

Your intestinal linings.

Taking a couple of nice deep breaths here.

Breathing into self-trust and inner knowing through your intuition.

Next bringing your awareness to your heart center,

The center of the chest plate just above the sternum.

The color green may come to you,

Connecting back with your root and vine chakra here.

Feeling love.

Is it possible to believe that an unconditional wellspring of love lives within you?

Breathing into compassion for yourself.

Breathing out compassion for others.

Taking a nice deep breath to clear this heart space and come back to your true nature.

And as you're ready for the next minute,

I invite you to embark on some ocean breath,

Bringing the tongue to the back of the throat,

Breathing as if you are fogging up a spoon so that you can hear this sound.

Ideally breathing through the nose if you can,

It's okay if you cannot at this time.

Breathing into your truth.

Breathing into your values,

Your integrity.

Breathing into your truth.

May you speak your truth in safe and compassionate ways.

Drawing in a final breath here.

Next bringing your awareness just above the eyebrows.

You may even trace a finger down the center of your brow line until you find a tiny ridge.

Here you land on your third eye chakra.

This is a space for a different kind of inner knowing.

Different from your intuition,

Solar plexus center,

Perhaps breathing into this third eye center.

Can you feel the power of your inner knowing?

Self-trust.

Self-trust.

You do know.

Breathing into this space.

You are whole.

Bringing your awareness to the tip of your head,

That crown chakra,

Perhaps tucking the chin,

Pressing through the crown,

Feeling some length in the spine,

White silvery energy and light shining here.

You may even feel a connection to the stars,

To the great mystery.

Drawing into that transpersonal space here.

Breathing deeply.

And we'll begin to connect all of our chakras,

Taking a breath,

Moving from the crown,

That silver light energy with a full exhale.

Bringing in another nice,

Deep inhale for this indigo purple color,

Third eye center,

Full exhale.

As you draw in your next inhale,

Envisioning that baby blue color for the truth that lives within your throat.

Full exhale.

Coming into that center heart space,

Deep green color,

Full exhale.

Breathing into that sunshine yellow of your solar plexus,

Belly expands,

Relaxing.

Full exhale.

Breathing deep into the sacral chakra,

Your creation,

Your pelvic bowl,

Orange,

The color orange may come over you,

Full exhale.

Coming into that root chakra once again,

Red,

Full exhale.

Just continue with a few full breaths,

Feeling into each center here for a moment.

And I want to invite you for the last minute or so of our practice to really feel into and breathe into your own energy.

Perhaps envisioning an eggshell shape around you,

A protection bubble,

Or outside of this sphere is all the other energies in the world.

We are speaking strictly to what is yours.

Feeling into that vibration,

Becoming familiar with the sensation of your own body,

Your own nervous system,

So that you can begin to know the difference of what is yours and what is not,

While always being able to face with strength and compassion what others bring forth,

But knowing more deeply what is for you,

What is yours.

Just a few breaths here.

Invitation to say some thanks,

To feel some gratitude for your body,

For your awareness.

No matter how familiar or unfamiliar you may be with the chakra systems,

Tuning in,

Expanding your awareness,

Every little bit counts.

Take another nice deep breath,

Wiggle your toes,

Wiggle your fingers,

Bring yourself back when you are ready.
