A good place for this space meditation would be outdoor in a sunny warm morning or moonlight evening maybe under a tree so you are actually under open spacious sky so feminine principle is directly to be in touch with the open spacious awareness within you normally our mind is blocked by all kinds of thinking emotions mental afflictions and formations of all kind since this meditation is a good antidote for that and plus you can go to deeper levels of awareness with this meditation so with your consent we can begin find a or comfortable posture on your seat and feel the spaciousness of space all around you keep your head and shoulders relaxed scan your body your heart area soft your arms falling the sensation of the body and your skin and the energy around belly buttocks relax your lower legs and your feet and relax the facial muscles especially around the eyes keep your chin straight little touch and be it your breath and feel your breath the inhale and the slow exhale take a few deep breaths and feel the quality of the space open and bounded unobstructed you can keep counting your breath or just be with the breath but all the time being aware of the open space around you and over your head so now feel your connection with the space how are you connected with the space you connect with the space with your breath this breath that you first inhaled when you were born came out through the space and your last breath would again go out into this space so reflecting on the qualities of this space how this space sustains your entire life the very breath or life energy the chi so in some ways you can feel this space is like your mother not just your mother it's the mother of all living beings so this cosmic womb from which all creation came is like a mother and you are protected in that space and all life is sustained and nurtured by that space so you can trust this space even though it is a great unknown infinite but you can trust this space you can trust the very life breathing through you this unknown is not to be feared when we cut ourself from the space awareness our neurotic nature our ego mind gets out of control when we do not allow ourselves to feel this space deep within our breath and bring this space awareness in our mind and consciousness our mind starts to become very rigid and tight and emotions cannot flow it's starts to getting suppressed so again bring the breath from the space in your body and feel the body sitting on your seat like a big tree with limbs and quite stable your body is quite stable when you connect with that breath and that breath is channeled through all the organs of your body going down to your feet and getting grounded on earth so your body is the connector between this space and the ground so we are like a living battery kind of and when we are aware of the breath and the space out of which we're inhaling and exhaling to there is a natural relaxation our body feels and the body feels secure also in that space when the flow of breath is easy and deep and we are aware of that breath or life force flowing through us our body feels stable and secure in that so we can come home to our body anytime irrespective of what's going on in our lives in the outside world this body is our home you can also visualize yourself as a big mountain with a strong back clouds floating by and the mountain is holding secure no wind or storm can disturb it so just like the mountain or the tree feel yourself grounded on this planet feel yourself secure in this breath when the breath goes out you just go out easily without struggle without fear without fear,
Without resistance of any kind.
Now as you feel how this space supports not only your life,
But the life of all living beings.
And you know your body is made of stardust.
It's not just a body in a tiny shell.
It's literally made of stardust.
So feel how this space is lit up by the sun.
And feel the warmth of the sun in your own heart coming down,
Pouring through your head,
Coming to settle on your heart.
And radiating in ten directions,
Loving kindness,
Just like the sun radiates its warmth to all living beings.
Or feel the gentle glow of the moonlight in the evening sky,
How it lights up the world.
Or see the stars in the dark sky if you happen to be in nighttime.
And the gentle breeze,
How everything is flowing in perfect harmony and balance.
Feel secure in that.
The sun is always going to be rising even though it goes behind clouds sometimes.
Even after the tree sheds leaves in wintertime,
It will regenerate in spring.
So there is a movement in our life also.
Things never remains the same.
But this impermanence or change in everything need not scare us,
Make us feel uncertain or greedy or fear for our lives.
When we are connected to this indestructible space awareness,
We no longer fear death.
We are no longer driven by our reptilian survival instinct or the animal instinct.
We can be generous at heart,
We can be friendly,
And we celebrate our diversity and differences.
And from this space,
Which is the source of all inspiration,
All creativity,
Innovation and intuitive thoughts,
Can be relied,
Can be totally trusted.
And this space is not rejecting nor accepting,
Showing preference,
But yet there are certain principles that support life and certain principles that do not support life.
So the principles that support life are life-affirming and the other laws based on dualities are not life-supporting.
So we must feel this wholeness of life,
This wholeness of breath,
And bring this space awareness into every cell of our body.
Feel the oxygen enriching every cell of our body,
Feeling alive,
Feel the gratitude for your life and all living beings.
What a beautiful planet we live on.
We don't have to control,
We don't have to kill,
We don't have to judge.
We just have to see and know things as they are.
In life's essential pains,
Birth,
Old age,
Sickness,
Death,
Separation from loving ones,
Not getting what one wants,
They are also impermanent,
You don't have to hold them.
It's much better to feel the temporary pain and breathe out the discomfort,
The stress on a daily basis than to hold them in your cellular memory.
So accept yourself as the space accepts everything.
Be like space,
Non-grasping,
Non-clinging,
Non-hating,
Non-judging.
And forgive yourself and others for all minor major transgressions and ignorance.
Again,
Feel the warmth of loving kindness,
The rain of compassion on your body,
The appreciative joy of all living beings and the equanimity for all ups and downs in life.
It says the best among humans and divine beings meditate on space and its qualities.
