Hello everybody listening to this.
My name is Ananda Nelson and this is Seated Sessions.
Today's meditation is the Midday Pick Me Up.
So this could be during a lunch hour,
Just in any break you might have during the day to reground,
Re-center,
Recoup yourself,
To revive your energy a bit and to give yourself that distinction perhaps between work and returning home or just between destinations of wherever that the day might leave you.
So whenever you're ready just taking a moment to close your eyes,
Allow your body to relax,
Allowing your feet to rest,
Letting your shoulders drop,
Letting all of the muscles in your face become soft and taking a nice deep gentle breath in through your nose if you can and letting go.
And on your next inhale just seeing if you can open and expand your chest a bit more and letting go.
Noticing with each inhale that your body lengthens that breath brings a bit more life back into your body and just noticing any of the sounds that might be around you.
Just allowing them to be,
Not giving them your attention and simply allowing your heart to relax.
So just allow your guard to come down.
There's no one you need to perform for,
Or put on a show for.
Also allowing the mind to rest and if your mind wants to follow the thoughts that are distracting you,
Just notice it,
Bring it back as soon as you notice you've left this present moment.
And sometimes the mind can be very resistant to stillness as there's always so much to do,
So many things to plan and think about,
But not while you're here.
Call back your energy anywhere that you might have left it so far throughout the day.
Maybe you've left your power or your peace with someone who said something to you.
Perhaps an event happened that you just can't let go.
Leave it for now,
It'll be there later.
Coming back to a place of stability within the body,
The mind,
And the heart.
Taking another deep gentle inhale and just beginning to tune into the soul,
Spirit,
And essence of you.
This aspect of you that's directly connected to the divine,
To your higher power.
Knowing that just as the sunlight charges the trees,
The flowers,
The earth,
We also require that same light.
So if you can,
Just allow that light,
That divine holy golden light,
To just move through you,
Through any parts of you that might be dull,
Heavy,
Empty.
Take a few breaths into that.
Relax a little deeper into it,
Remembering that right now there's nowhere else for you to be but here.
In the presence of nothing,
There is everything.
Continue to overcome the urge to be distracted.
You deserve this peace,
Even if it's only a moment.
You can do this.
Stay connected to your breath.
Notice if it gets shallow,
Bring it a little bit deeper,
And I'll leave you in the quiet for a few minutes.
This is where the transformation can happen.
Allow,
Surrender,
And let go.
I will bring you back.
Notice if the stillness or this quiet,
If it's really loud for you.
Perhaps this is the first moment of peace you've experienced all day,
Or maybe for many days,
Weeks.
Peace is how you came to live and exist.
We've not learned how to effectively cope with stress in high fast-paced environments.
It's not normally in our nature.
So if you can,
Wherever you are,
Just take one hand or both hands,
Put them up over your heart.
Restore the energy of the heart with the breath,
With these hands that are healing.
Knowing that you have an abundant,
Beautiful,
Energetic source to receive your energy from.
Allowing this divine intelligence to move through you,
To restore and rejuvenate you.
Bringing you back to homeostasis,
To groundedness,
To connection,
And just quietly asking yourself,
What can I acknowledge myself for?
Especially for today,
What can I acknowledge myself for today?
Receive that from yourself.
And also asking yourself,
What do I need to remember?
What can I return to,
To get through the rest of this day with as much ease,
Grace,
Love,
And awareness as possible?
You can pick a word,
A feeling.
What can you come back to,
To live this day how it was intended?
Let that come through.
And with your heads held high,
With your body being rested once more,
Take a nice deep breath into the depths of your belly and just slowly begin to bring your awareness back into your body,
Into the room,
Or perhaps the car that you are sitting in.
Bringing all of your consciousness back.
And if you want to stay here a little while longer,
You have the permission to do so.
But when you're ready,
Very slowly,
Very gently,
Allowing your eyes to open,
To readjust your awareness and consciousness with these new understandings,
Just noticing all the things around you that maybe you saw differently,
That perhaps prior to this you saw out of chronic stress,
Chronic overwhelm,
Fear,
Anxiety.
Be still now.
Be confident that you can and will move through the rest of your day strong,
Confident,
Connected,
Capable,
And able.
And may all of you listening to this just be blessed.
Know that I'm so grateful that you're here.
There is no deeper honor.
And when you're fully ready,
Return back to your life for all the people that need you and all the ways that you serve.
And all is well.
