Hello my friends and welcome to day 28 of Lent.
Our meditation for today is another one on where our strength comes from.
In a sense,
All the meditations in this Call to Endurance section have been leading up to this meditation.
To get into the spirit of meditation,
I invite you to be still.
Adopt an attitude of gratitude and non-judgment and embrace a spirit of peace and loving-kindness.
Where does our help come from?
Where does our help come from?
Throughout the Bible,
We are told that our help and our strength comes from the Holy Spirit.
And,
Throughout the Bible,
There are numerous instances where we are told that we have the Holy Spirit inside of us.
And yet,
So often,
We chase after revivals and mountaintop experiences as if it can only come from an outside source,
Sometimes in the midst of all the noise and production and hype of our lives,
And even our church services.
We can forget that it's here,
In the quiet,
In the stillness,
That we encounter God.
This,
This is where we encounter God.
We have the Holy Spirit within us.
We have the Holy Spirit within us.
It is when we are quiet and still enough to listen to that still,
Small voice inside,
That we encounter God.
Where does our strength come from?
The Spirit.
And where is the Spirit within us?
Let us take a moment to simply be still and connect with the Spirit within us.
This,
This is where we encounter God.
This,
This is where we encounter God.
Thank you for meditating with me today,
My friends.
And today,
May you find the stillness,
The quiet,
The strength and the help of the Spirit within you.
And may grace and peace,
Light and love be with you.
