Anyone who exalts themself will be humbled,

And anyone who humbles themselves will be exalted.

Hello my beloveds,

Today we practice the 30th meditation in our Lent series.

To prepare our hearts and minds for meditation,

I invite you to close your eyes if it's safe and helpful to do so.

Relax your body in a comfortable position you can remain in for a few minutes.

In other words,

Be still.

Adopt an attitude of gratitude and non-judgment,

And embrace a heart and mindset of peace and loving-kindness.

Anyone who exalts themself will be humbled,

And anyone who humbles themself will be exalted.

This passage in Luke reminds us to let go of our ego,

To let go of our plans,

And embrace the great essential.

Anyone who exalts themself will be humbled,

And anyone who humbles themself will be exalted.

Let go of ego,

Let go.

Anyone who exalts themself will be humbled,

And anyone who humbles themself will be exalted.

Let go of ego,

Let go.

And embrace peace and loving-kindness.

Thank you for meditating with me today,

My Beloveds.

May grace and peace,

Light and love,

Be with you.

A great excerpt and interpretation of Scripture and the repetition was a great method for helping the message sink in. The sequence of letting go of ego followed by letting go of our plans and embracing the essential (that is peace and loving kindness) really resonated with me. It is a good mindset to return to when I get spun up in the network of egos, including my own, that distracts us from being in communion with God and our own spirit.
