Advent, Day Twelve: Swords Into Plows. (Second Thursday of Advent.)

For this second week of Advent, we dwell upon Peace.

This meditation is inspired by Isaiah 11:9, The Message & Isaiah 2:4, NIV.

To begin this meditation, I invite you to light the Advent Candle of Peace, Be Still, Adopt an attitude of Gratitude & non-judgment, & embrace a Spirit of Peace.

All my holy mountain will be free of anything hurtful or destructive.

For as the waters fill the sea,

The entire earth will be filled with the intimate knowledge of the eternal.

For as the waters fill the sea,

The entire earth will be filled with the intimate knowledge of the eternal.

The word knowledge in this passage is a much more intimate use of the word than we are used to.

We often use this word in phrases such as,

Do you know this song?

This question can be used to denote whether one listens to a specific radio station or whether one enjoys a certain style of music or band,

As if it is about being part of a specific club.

This passage however is to use this phrase on an entirely other level.

Do you know this song?

Is to ask,

Can you feel this song?

Can you feel this song?

Because one day the whole earth will be filled with the music of El Olam,

The eternal one.

And it won't matter what type of music you're into.

It won't matter what type of music you're into.

Everyone will sing songs of peace,

Of peace.

The whole earth will be filled with peace and there will no longer be anything hurtful or destructive.

One day all the earth will be filled with the music of El Olam.

There will only be peace.

They will beat their swords into plowshares and their spears into pruning hooks.

Everyone will not take up sword against nation nor will they train for war anymore.

There will no longer be anything hurtful or destructive.

There will only be peace.
