As Yeshua and the disciples continued on their way to Jerusalem,
They came to a certain village where a woman named Martha welcomed him into her home.
Her sister Mary sat at Yeshua's feet,
Listening to what he taught,
But Martha was distracted by the big dinner she was preparing.
She came to Yeshua and said,
Lord,
Doesn't it seem unfair to you that my sister just sits here while I do all the work?
Tell her to come and help me.
And Yeshua said to her,
My dear Martha,
You are worried and upset over all these details.
There is only one thing worth being concerned about.
Mary has discovered it,
And it will not be taken away from her.
Isn't it our tendency to be so very much like Martha and so very little like Mary in this passage,
Especially ironically during the Advent season?
I propose,
However,
That this Advent season we embrace a spirit of peace.
Let us meditate upon what is truly important this season.
Let us embrace a spirit of calm,
Of contemplation,
Of meditation,
Of life.
Let us embrace a spirit of life.
Let us all sit at the feet of love and breathe in what is truly important.
And this season,
Let us all be a little less Martha and a little more Mary.
Let us all take the time to be still.
Let us sit at the feet of love and breathe in what is truly important.
And this season,
Let us all be a little less Martha and a little more Mary.
Let us sit at the feet of love and breathe in what is truly important.
Let us all take the time to be still.
And this season,
Let us all be a little less Martha and a little more Mary.
Let us all be a little more Martha and a little more Mary.
