Hello and welcome to this short mindfulness exercise on boosting your wellbeing.

You're going to start by sitting comfortably in as upright a position as you can,

Your feet firmly on the floor or tucked under you on the chair.

You're going to gently allow your eyes to close.

And you're going to take in a deep,

Slow breath.

Fill your lungs and your belly and then slowly release that breath.

You're going to repeat that process with a big,

Deep breath in and a long,

Slow out breath.

And one more time,

A big,

Deep breath in and a long,

Slow out breath.

And then allow your breathing to regain its natural rhythm.

You don't need to focus on your breath.

And you're going to bring to mind two things for which you are grateful in your life.

They can be anything at all.

Something small,

Something minor,

Something monumental and important.

For each of those things,

One at a time,

Hold them in your mind.

Picture them,

If that's possible,

And express your gratitude for having that in your life.

Think about how grateful you are to have each of those things in your life today.

And now shift your attention to a person in your life.

It could be a person you know very well,

A person you simply know as an acquaintance.

But imagine that person feeling happy or happier than they currently are.

Focus on that person's happiness with the intention that they become more happy.

Send them warm thoughts,

Encouraging thoughts,

Grateful thoughts.

Keep them in your awareness for a moment or two.

And now take one last deep in breath.

Hold it for a second.

Breathe out slowly through your mouth.

And when you're ready,

You can gently open your eyes and continue on with your day.

Knowing that in a small way,

You've addressed your own well being today.
