Sound Bath Sessions 256: Christy Lau
I met Christy at in her studio in Kwun Tong. It was looking to be a hot Sunday, but the towering buildings of the alleyway, where the entrance to her building gave a much-needed respite. She shares a similar style with her teacher, Sylvia Leung, playing very slowly and clearly letting the pure tones of the bowls ring out in their entirety. The bowls and her sequences are well matched with little or no modulation, only clean, weighty tones. She likes to ring the ting sha bell during the sessions as a blessing and cleansing. She had a medical condition that inspired her to seek ways to heal herself, and she began attending sound bath sessions. She usually gives 1-on-1 sessions because she likes to understand each person's needs and find a way to help them by what she observed during their sessions. She sees every session as a way to heal herself, too. This session was simply to recharge the energy of 7 chakras and inner balance of the female and make energy within themselves.
