Welcome.
I am Maggie.
And tonight,
Today,
This morning,
Wherever you are in the world,
Whatever time it is for you,
I'm going to share with you what my friend Deepak Chopra calls the Master Meditation.
And the idea behind this meditation is really to show you who you really are.
A lot of times we are slaves to change,
And we can't really figure out who we are.
We just sort of go with whatever changes come our way and sort of morph into that identity.
And we can only start to really connect with our true selves when we start to notice that no matter what changes in our life,
The one thing that remains constant is our sense of self.
And there's not a lot of people who pause in that busyness of their life to notice their own silent partner or their silent friend or companion.
It's your being.
It's not talking.
It's not that internal chatter.
That's not yourself.
That's not your sense of self.
Your sense of self is just exists.
So settle in.
And let's just do this little Master Meditation,
As he calls it.
So sit quietly with your eyes closed and just center yourself.
Take a few deep breaths and allow your body to just settle into wherever you're seated.
And let's take about five minutes right now at the beginning here to meditate on the mantra aham,
Aham,
Aham.
Just continue silently repeating that mantra to yourself.
Allow your body to settle into the sound of that internal vibration of aham for a few minutes here.
Aham.
No need to focus on the mantra.
Just when you notice that it's disappeared,
Just bring yourself back to it.
Aham.

And when you feel calm and settled,
Go ahead and open your eyes,
But stay in that inner peace,
That inner place.
Let your eyes just sort of land on your surroundings without really focusing on any particular object.
And then say to yourself,
I am present in everything I see.
Nothing is visible without me.
.
I am present in everything I see.
Nothing is visible without me.
.
Now go ahead and close your eyes again and remain centered.
.
And allow the sounds that are in your surroundings just come to you for a moment.
And say to yourself,
I am present in everything I hear.
There is nothing to be heard without me.
.
.
I am present to everything I hear.
There is nothing to be heard without me.
.
And now continuing with your eyes closed and remaining centered.
Let your fingers touch lightly your skin,
Your clothing,
Or any object that's near you.
Maybe the chair that you're seated in or the blanket that's around you.
.
And say to yourself,
I am present in everything I touch.
.
There's nothing tangible without me.
.
I am present with everything I touch.
.
There is nothing tangible without me.
.
And with your eyes still closed and your mind and being still centered.
.
Taste the inside of your mouth.
See if you can mentally see a lemon being cut in half with a knife.
Spirting drops of lemon juice.
.
Taste the lemon's sourness and say to yourself,
I am present in everything I taste.
Nothing has a taste without me.
.
I am present in everything I taste.
.
Nothing has a taste without me.
.
And continuing with your eyes closed and remaining centered.
Gently inhale the smells in your surroundings.
It doesn't really matter what they are.
Perhaps it's the scent of a candle that's burning nearby or some musty smell in your room or freshly mowed lawn.
Just say to yourself,
I am present in everything I smell.
Nothing has an odor without me.
.
Remaining centered and still with your eyes closed.
Let your mind go wherever it wants to just for a moment.
To any random sensation,
Images,
Feeling or thought.
It really doesn't matter what it might be.
And say to yourself,
I am present in everything I think.
There is no mind without me.
.
I am present in everything I think.
There is no mind without me.
.
And with your eyes still closed and still remaining centered for the last step.
Put your attention in the area of your heart.
Visualize invisible waves pulsing out from your heart in all directions.
Follow them as far as you can until they fade away.
And for a moment expand how far the waves reach in all directions.
Maybe it will help to envision the still surface of a pond.
And a raindrop striking the surface.
Sending circular waves spreading out as far as your eye can see.
Until they subside and the pond is totally still once again.
And say to yourself,
I am present everywhere.
Nothing can be without me.
I am present everywhere.
Nothing can be without me.
And just allow yourself to settle into the awareness of your being.
That silent,
Unmoving,
Unbounded,
Present being that is the real you.
And whenever you feel comfortable,
You can slowly float your eyes open and return to the room.
Reminding yourself that practicing this a few times,
It will change each day depending on your state of awareness.
And the goal is the same though,
Even though the meditation for you will change.
Because every day you're different,
Right?
So it's good to have this meditation in your back pocket because we're constantly shifting our identity.
You're no longer the teenager you once were or the toddler that you were or the adolescent.
So that particular I in that stage that you were doesn't exist anymore.
So that your I,
The being,
The I,
I am changes and shifts all the time.
But yourself,
That being that you are,
Is the one thing that remains constant.
No matter what is changing around you.
So I hope you have found this to be as beautiful a meditation as I love it,
As I feel it is.
And practice a few times this week and see what you come up with.
And until we meet again next time,
Have a beautiful day.
Namaste.
