We live in the Now Moment, but we often forget. This guided meditation was inspired by Thich Nhat Hanh and delivered by Rob Satori live at Unity of Sarasota in 2022. To find our way back to true spiritual freedom, we can use our smile as we breathe to remind us that there is nothing more important than our inner peace.

Bring full attention to this very moment,

Settling in and allowing the mind and body to be still and comfortable with openness,

Patience and curiosity.

Bring your awareness to your breath.

Thich Nhat Hanh was one of my favorites at leading spiritual meditation and mindful meditation such as this.

And this one has him in mind.

Breathing in,

I smile.

And breathing out,

I release.

Breathing in,

I smile.

Breathing out,

I release.

And releasing it fully,

I follow my breath as it flows back in and out of my body.

Breathing in,

I smile.

And breathing out,

I release.

Smiling here means to bring relaxation to all the muscles of your face.

There are about 300 of them and every time you smile,

You relax all 300 of them.

And your nervous system and your physiology becomes relaxed and it settles down.

Smiling,

Smiling here is a way of smiling to yourself.

The smile is directed to yourself.

Breathing in,

I smile.

And breathing out,

I release.

Releasing,

Releasing here means to let go of everything.

All of our projects,

Our business,

Our worries and concerns,

Our disappointments and tensions.

Breathing in,

I smile.

And breathing out,

I release.

In order to be able to enjoy our presence in the here and now,

Right here and right now.

This ever new now moment,

Here and now moment,

But it's always here.

It's always new,

It's always changing,

But it's always here.

Breathing in,

I smile.

Breathing out,

I release.

This new now moment always returns for us.

Ever available,

Always ready for you.

Always available,

Always waiting for us to step in,

To breathe in.

Feel in.

And so with our breath,

We come free from our pain.

We become free from our sorrow and our suffering.

Projects,

All our tensions,

All the disappointments.

Breathing in,

I smile.

Nothing is important as my peace,

My joy.

I smile to everything,

Even to my suffering.

I smile to my difficulties.

I smile to my pain.

And breathing out,

I can release and let it go.

This is the practice of freedom.

Smile when you breathe in,

And release when you breathe out.

Smile when you breathe in.

Smile and release when you breathe out.

Now we can smile,

Practice the smile for breathing in to those we know,

Our families,

Our parents,

Our children,

Our loved ones.

We breathe in a smile to our friends.

We breathe in to the difficulties,

The happiness,

The tensions,

And the shared joys with every one of them.

We breathe in a smile that we practice today on everyone we touch as we live our new now moments together.

And now we can practice breathing in,

Smiling to the world,

The whole world,

Our leaders,

Our countries,

The earth,

The sea,

And sky.

We look down at our beautiful planet,

And we release.

We smile,

Looking down,

And we release,

Release to the new and gracious now moment.

All of those tensions and all of the worries look far,

Far,

Far away,

And rather small and insignificant,

Nothing.

We breathe in to all of these things at one,

And at once in this new now moment,

A lifetime of new now moments.

All at once,

All at one,

There is harmony as we smile in our breath,

And our release as we breathe out.

We breathe in the smile that we practice today as we release in a world that we touch,

As we live our new now moments together,

Together.

And now you may begin to return.

Feel your sense of the room returning as we come gliding down and back into our seats,

Into our bodies,

And into our feeling,

A sense of more comfortableness,

Beingness,

And richness,

Feeling alive,

Feeling happy,

Feeling compassion,

And ready to stay thoughtful and mindful in each new now moment as we are mindful of one another here and all day as the new now moments come and go and come.

Thank you.

Thank you.
