Welcome to a meditation to connect to your vision.

So often we know that we're after something else,

Something bigger,

Something more without quite knowing what that is.

Sometimes we find ourselves just chipping away at life and being a little bit disappointed that this is leading nowhere,

That there's a sense of disconnect.

This meditation is designed to connect you back to your vision,

To this idea,

This divine idea that there's more to your life,

That there's a spark that guides you.

The challenge of connecting to that vision is often the limitations that we see around ourselves,

That we grow up in.

So it really is a matter of looking behind our limiting beliefs,

The things we've picked up over the course of our lives,

And the things that people around us keep telling us.

So today's meditation is going to support you in doing exactly that.

We're starting with a calming breathing technique,

Just allowing the superficial chatter of the mind to slow down,

To look behind it,

And then into this space of stillness we're dropping some questions.

And the trick really is not to expect anything.

To listen to whatever comes up to these questions and to also be okay if there is stillness,

If there is nothing coming up right now for any or all of these questions.

Every time you do this meditation you come closer to your vision,

To your next version of you.

So without further ado let's just begin by finding a comfortable meditation seat.

Ground down through your sit bones,

Lengthen the spine,

Close down your eyes or soften a gaze towards the tip of the nose.

Allow the belly and pelvic floor to soften,

Let the shoulder blades drop,

Soften your throat,

And unclench your jaw.

Let your eyes sink heavily into their sockets,

And allow the forehead to soften,

And let your eyes sink into their sockets.

Let your eyes sink heavily into their sockets and allow the forehead to soften as well.

Connect your awareness to your breath.

And we're going to start counting the breath for six counts in and six counts out,

Just to help you establish a rhythm before handing it over to you.

So empty your lungs to prepare,

And inhale two three four five six,

Exhale two three four five six,

Inhale two three four five six,

Exhale two three four five six,

And continue like this.

Give your body some time to establish that counting,

To get used to shaping the breath in that way.

See if you can keep that softness in your belly,

That softness in the pelvic floor,

Without any effort simply allowing the breath to start and finish in your belly.

So with your next round see if you can establish a short pause after the exhale and before a new inhale begins.

You can count that pause to two counts just to give you a bit of a frame for that moment of stillness.

Begin to notice how the exhale really is emptying into that stillness,

That is supporting you in releasing and letting go.

So notice how the stillness the breath hold is more than just stillness,

Is really a peak,

A window into a vastness that you carry within beyond the movement of the breath,

Beyond any movement.

Every exhale allowing you to drop into that stillness once again,

The stillness of being.

Notice how you can stay connected to that stillness beyond this brief moment that the breath offers.

Whenever you lose that connection to the state of being,

That breath hold,

That moment of physical stillness can be your window to re-enter into being.

With the next round of your breath take inhale and exhale back to a count of three.

Let the exhale retention either sit at two or abandon all counting and just rest there for whatever time feels comfortable.

So re-enter into stillness,

Into being.

Release the breath count.

Notice how the breath find its natural rhythm and how no matter how short continues to revisit this moment of stillness between exhale and inhale,

Your window into being.

Into the sense of being,

The sense of stillness.

Drop the following question.

What does the next version of me feel like?

What does the next version of me feel like?

Receive without expectation.

Notice without judgment.

Replace that question with another one.

What traits or qualities does this next version of me embody?

Receive and notice.

And finally drop one last question into the state of being.

What does this next version of me no longer carry?

What does this next version of me no longer carry?

Begin to deepen your breath.

Come back just a little bit.

And grab your journal or the notes app on your phone to write down whatever has shown itself to you.

Whatever has come up with this meditation,

Be free to revisit it over and over again.

Reconnecting with your vision over and over again.

Thank you.
