1. Let your mind wander naturally if the attention leaves, and invite your attention back to the meditation visualizations. 2. Notice the qualities of nature that feel most present to you in this moment, leaving all others up for consideration - whether in the moment itself, throughout the rest of the day, or in the future. 3. Allow the human experience to be as vast as the sky, willing and able to hold all of the elements as they come and go like the seasons.

Throughout this meditation today,

We will use the images and the qualities of nature,

Primarily the mountain,

The sky,

And the wind.

To begin,

Imagine a mountain.

The mountain represents the stability of the body and the spirit,

The mind.

The mountain is steady,

Stable,

And wise.

When we are on top of a mountain,

The view is clear and vast.

The mountain reminds us that we can embody these qualities.

Rest in these sensations of these qualities for a few breaths.

Stable,

Wise,

Clear.

Allow the breath to be an anchor for your attention if the attention leaves you.

Now imagine the sky around and above the mountain.

Very clear and spacious.

The mind is like the sky,

Infinite and vast.

The clouds float like the thoughts.

They pass like the thoughts.

We can observe these thoughts like the wind moves,

All like the cycle of nature,

Like the movement of the seasons,

As they come and go.

The mountain is strong but also calm as these clouds and thoughts fluctuate.

Rest easily here with these sensations for a few breaths.

Steady but also fluid and spacious.

Allow the breath to anchor your attention if and when it leaves you.

And finally,

Imagine the wind.

It flows naturally and without effort in space.

Like the wind travels in the sky,

It travels like the breath in the lungs,

Easy and without effort,

Without force.

And like the wind,

The breath moves like a wave.

Any attention flows with the waves of the breath.

The breath is a gentle anchor for the attention.

When we are distracted,

The breath can direct the attention to the present moment.

We cannot stop the fluctuations of the mind or the sounds around us,

But we always have the power and the possibility to guide the attention to the breath.

We have the power to rest steadily like the mountain as we observe the movement of the thoughts,

The feelings,

And sensations.

Rest here and simply notice the breath for a few moments.

Continue to allow the breath to anchor your attention.

Attention is a tool that helps us to remain calm and alert alongside of the fluctuations of the thoughts,

The feelings,

Sensations,

The sounds,

And the world around us,

All without judgment.

Our human experience is like a vast sky.

Everything moves within this space.

This body,

This moment,

This breath is home.

Simply place the hands on your heart if that feels appropriate for you and repeat these affirmations.

I am steady like the mountain.

I am spacious like the sky.

I am fluid like the wind.

I am stable like the mountain.

I am spacious like the sky.

I am fluid like the wind.

Place the hands together at the center of the heart and appreciate yourself for being here today.

Thank yourself for being willing to observe the experience and yourself without judgment.
