Start by getting comfortable and finding your seat.
Sitting on your meditation cushion with your legs crossed,
With spine straight,
Or sitting on a chair with your back supported,
Your feet on the earth beneath you.
Today,
I will be taking you through a guided meditation focused on relaxing your body and connecting you to your baby.
When you are ready,
Allow your eyes to close down.
Take your attention inward.
Starting the journey of bringing your attention from the external world to the stillness that resides within you.
With your eyes closed down,
Roll your focus up to the place between the brows,
Your third eye.
Eyelids soften.
Facial muscles relax and release.
Place your hands wherever feels most comfortable,
On your belly or resting them in at your lap.
Allow yourself to rest.
Drop into your breath.
Arrive here completely in this moment,
Releasing all effort,
Allowing nature to take over.
Allow yourself to sink into stillness,
To let go into this moment.
Your breath.
Taking your attention now to your breath.
Moving through the nose on the inhalation,
Filling yourself up with light.
Releasing the breath through your nose,
Releasing the breath through the nose on the exhalation,
Effortlessly,
Peacefully.
Notice how the body moves,
How the chest rises and falls,
How the breath moves in and out.
Feel the expansion of the chest as you invite the breath in and it fills you up.
And the releasing of the breath,
Calming you completely.
With each breath,
You become more and more relaxed.
You are feeling more centered and focused within.
This time is for you and your baby.
You are settling into a body that is stretching beyond comprehension.
A heart space that is expanding day by day.
And your relationship with your partner being forever reconfigured.
Pregnancy is a journey of a lifetime.
You already possess the strength and the stamina you need for this courageous act.
It is already within you,
Imprinted on your DNA and meshed in your heart.
It is already within you,
Imprinted on your DNA and meshed into the fabric of your womanhood.
Continue to breathe in this way,
In and out through the nose.
Following the inhale,
Witnessing the exhale.
Take the breath deep down to your baby.
With this deep nourishing breath,
Your heartbeat slows and becomes steady.
Baby feels all that you are offering up.
The thing that the baby falls in love with first is the rhythm of the mother's heartbeat.
Now,
Let's take the breath through the body.
Starting at the crown of your head.
Relax the top of your head.
Your brain.
Breathe into your brain and allow it to soften within your skull.
Relax your facial muscles.
Your jaw.
Your upper and lower teeth separate,
Allowing your tongue to rest gently in at your mouth.
Allow your mouth to open up.
Allow your eyes to become heavy in their sockets.
Drift your focus to your shoulders.
Allow them to drop away from your ears.
Feel your arms get heavy all the way down to the fingertips.
Feel yourself take your breath now to your chest space.
Create some space between each rib by breathing deep into your lungs.
Feel the freedom with each breath.
Moving the breath into your sides,
Making more room for baby in your body.
Drifting your awareness to your lower back and to your belly.
Is there any tightness there?
Breathe into this space.
Release any tension you may be holding.
Allow your whole awareness to rest within your body.
Allow your awareness to rest at your pelvis.
Breathe into your pelvis.
Feel yourself release any tension with the exhalation.
Softening.
Releasing.
Relaxing.
Let your muscles soften away from your bones.
Now placing your hands onto your belly if you feel like creating a stronger connection to baby.
Inhale warm golden light into and around your baby.
Experience how this warm golden light surrounds your baby.
Feel this warm golden light fill you up.
Keep breathing warm golden light in and around your baby.
Allow your breath and your awareness to rest here.
Now with the breath,
Send some soothing calming energy to your baby.
Focus your soft internal gaze to your baby,
To this sacred soul in your womb space.
Each breath into your belly,
Nourishing your baby with fresh oxygen and love.
Be here in this magical moment with this sacred life growing within you.
Remember not trying to shape or control the breath in any way.
Simply allowing the breath to enter and fill you up.
And to leave relaxing you deeper and deeper.
If you find your mind racing off into thought,
That's okay.
Let them go the way they came,
Effortlessly.
Breathing in and breathing out.
Now take your attention to your sit bones.
The earth supporting your weight.
Your hips,
Breathe into your hips.
Your legs,
Breathe into your legs.
Soften your upper thighs.
The calves.
And now breathe into your feet.
Soften each and every toe.
With the presence of awareness,
Allowing your body to completely relax.
The baby you are carrying is feeding off your life force.
And is learning from your state of consciousness whilst in your womb.
Experiences of peace are deeply beneficial for you and your baby.
Enjoy this special time connecting with this sacred little life.
Your baby is about to transition from the universe within you to the life in the world outside.
Take the breath now up to your heart space.
Breathe warm golden light in and around your heart.
Witness a sense of opening,
Of receiving.
And now a mantra that you can practice throughout your pregnancy.
A mantra keeping you focused and open.
Ready to receive the changes that pregnancy brings.
Breathing in,
I trust my body.
Breathing out,
My body knows what to do.
The more you practice this meditation the easier it will be.
After the mind is calm,
You will witness another voice from deep within you.
The voice of your inner guidance.
Remember to remind yourself with this mantra to trust that your body knows exactly what to do.
Thank yourself.
Thank your baby for choosing you to be his or her mother.
Now let's start to take some deeper breaths waking the body up with this fresh oxygen.
Begin to wiggle your fingers and your toes.
Take a big stretch.
Keeping the eyes closed,
Start to rub the palms together.
Creating a little warmth between them.
Place the palms over your eyes.
Allow the warmth to soothe you.
And when you are ready,
Open your eyes into the palms of your hands.
Drift the palms down now over your heart resting them there.
Thank you for practicing with me.
Sat Naam.
