Today we're talking about your life's work.

Your life's work.

Your contribution matters.

The work you've come to do as a soul is your destiny.

If you're a healer,

Heal.

If you're a teacher,

Teach.

If you're an artist,

Create.

If you're an explorer,

Explore.

Each soul contributes to the whole that is collective soul.

If you don't know what your life's work is,

Seek it.

If you know your life's work,

Step in the universe.

Now sometimes we think our life's work,

Especially for those of you in the intuitive and spiritual and healing fields,

We think okay I have to be a psychic and I have to have a practice or I have to be a healer and I have to have a practice.

We just think that we have to be out and about doing our gift actively but what is also true is that most of us are what's known as householders.

We're not monks and nuns living a solo life.

We are householders so that means we might be in partnership or marriage.

We might have a family or family members.

We definitely are working in regular jobs doing regular things and so how do we manage this desire to serve and to do our life's work?

Well we're really out of necessity being asked to do these householder tasks,

Doing maybe a job that isn't a spiritual job or doing activities that aren't working for the greater community and of course the answer is that every contribution matters.

So if you are a person staying at home raising kids or working a job and raising kids,

That is your life's work at the moment.

That's your contribution to do the best that you can at that task and as time goes on as your kids get older and become adults then you'll have a different stage of your life in which you contribute in a different way but for now as a householder that's what you're meant to be doing.

If you're a person that's really actively involved in a career that may be what you're meant to do as your highest contribution to the world.

Maybe you build things or maybe you are involved in finances or maybe you have a store of some kind or work for a store.

That's where your contribution can be.

Remember the universe is going to bring exactly the people you need to meet and know and assist right into your field.

So if you're a person working at a store,

All the people you're going to come across are people that the universe has sent to you and if you're a person working in finance then you can choose to be super ethical and super accurate so that you're helping others in that aspect.

Being a monk or being a nun is great if that's your particular calling but for most of us as householders we have other things that we're responsible for.

So your contribution matters as to how you fulfill those duties.

If you have three kids and you really want to be a healer you're going to have to figure out a way to do both.

Your contribution first is to your children and then afterwards is to bigger society.

It would be a mistake to ditch your three kids and you know go to India and learn to be a healer.

The contribution of a householder means you got to find a way to incorporate both and this is challenging but it's not that challenging because everyone has to do this.

If you aren't a person who's working you might think well I'm not contributing and so then you can contribute like if you're retired you might volunteer if that's your style but you also might just work on your own spiritual practice so that you're meditating on behalf of your friends and family and the world every day or you're praying on behalf of your friends and family in the world every day and the people that are not working that are doing this spiritual work are also contributing and holding the energy holding the energy.

Now there is one other part sometimes we are not doing our life's work because we're afraid to step in and this is really a tough one because for most of you at least for me I've worked a lot of different kind of jobs.

Let's see when I was a kid I was a wedding caterer which meant a lot of washing of punch glasses and setting out of mints and nuts and then after that I worked as a sales associate in a big retail store in Seattle the bargain basement did that a long time.

After that I wrote journalism which was very very very low paying low paying all of these are very low paying then I was a copywriter for fashion and then I was a copywriter for things like agriculture so I've had a lot of these kinds of there was a lot of other jobs too.

I worked for an insurance company like putting packets together at the time when it wasn't email or using this machine called a burster or a mimeograph machine all these old old things.

I did a lot of different stuff and of course I've raised four kids did a lot of hands-on householder family stuff.

Once upon a time I even cooked a lot now I don't it's not my practice really because there's not not so many people to cook for but the idea that each time I came to a new thing like when I was the wedding caterer I was a little afraid to become the journalist even though that was my next step and when I was the journalist I was a little afraid to work for the insurance company because that was my next step and so on and so on and yet each time I took that leap into the new situation it all worked out so if you are thinking oh I am not doing my soul work I'd love for you to just look back at your life from when you started working whether you were you know 14 or 20 or whatever your age was and look at the progression of how you've been okay when you made changes doing work or doing your contribution and understand that if you're feeling a calling to be doing something radically different you're going to be supported.

It's just the same as when you were young changing summer jobs doing a different summer job you're going to be okay going forward into your life's work your contribution matters however you're working if you're a householder if you're a healer or intuitive working in that level if you're at home meditating and praying on the world we're all here to support each other and we're all here to contribute to the whole.
