Welcome to a reflective meditation.
Find yourself a comfortable position,
Sitting or lying,
And let's ground in and then begin our reflective meditation.
Let's come into the presence of the body by feeling our feet making contact with whatever is underneath them.
Binding your attention to the feet and any connection points.
Take a moment and move up through the body,
Feeling our seat on the seat underneath us.
Maybe our back is making contact with something.
Finding that body presence.
Please take a moment and relax the face.
Forehead,
Let the eyebrows move away from each other.
Let the eyes sink in a little deeper.
The nose unflared.
A slight gap in the lips and the upper and lower jaw.
Allowing the tongue to rest in a comfortable position in the mouth,
Free of jaw tension.
And let your shoulders drop down free of tension.
Breathe in for a count of four.
One,
Two,
Three,
Four,
And release.
Four,
Three,
Two,
One.
I wanna take a moment and talk about something,
If you will,
That we will use as an analogy for our reflective meditation.
So please keep your eyes closed,
Present in the body and mind,
And anchor into me.
This is a transformative time of the year.
As we are moving in to fall,
And the trees and the leaves show such amazing beauty,
But they also show us some very important lessons.
They show us some lessons about letting go,
About change,
And the beauty in it.
They nestle into this time of year and realize it's time to let go of the leaves of this year.
And the first part of the process is they change to beautiful colors before they let go what they no longer need.
And then they have a period of bareness,
A period of resetting,
If you will.
And then comes in new growth.
I think we can very much learn from Mother Nature right now.
And so I'd like you to take a moment and identify what in your life do you feel like you need to let go of?
And maybe the colors that the trees show us can represent our excitement in shedding what we no longer need.
Take a moment and identify what do you need to let go of in your life?
Is it sadness,
Worry,
Stress,
Anxiety,
Self-depreciation,
Poor habits,
Poor eating habits,
Maybe needing to let go of guilt,
Shame?
What do you need to let go of?
I'm gonna go silent for a moment to allow you time to consider that.
Once you've identified some things that you need to let go of,
Let's visualize those things on the tree.
Visualize those things on the leaves.
And see them turning into beautiful colors because they served a purpose at one point.
And so they too can take a moment to be beautiful.
They served a purpose at one point,
But we no longer need them.
So we allow those leaves to release from our trunks,
Our cores.
Envision that shedding.
Whatever those things were,
Imagine your life now as those things no longer being present.
Depression,
Sadness,
Guilt,
Shame,
Fear,
Worry,
Whatever it is,
Imagine they are no longer present in your life.
It's a weight off,
Isn't it?
Take a moment and see your life without those things.
What is your life like without those things that you were able to let go?
What does your life look like?
What does it feel like?
I'm gonna go silent to allow you time to reflect on that.
I hope that visualization was very powerful for you and moving.
Now let's consider the regrowth period.
The regrowth period.
And we can reflect on the bareness in between as well.
And I see that as the time when we're letting go of things that no longer serve us.
But because we're so used to them,
Maybe our life feels a little empty for a little bit.
And that's okay.
Because that allows new,
Beautiful things to come in.
The new leaves to come in.
Freshness,
The greenness,
So vividly green.
Imagining the new growth,
Feeling the new growth.
What do you need to bring in to your life?
What do you need to cultivate in your life?
Is it positive habits?
Is it routine,
Structure,
Discipline?
Is it affirmations,
Journaling,
Prayer,
Meditation?
Speaking kindly to yourself?
Body movement?
A healthy relationship with food?
What is it that you need to bring in to your life?
I'm gonna go silent to allow you time to identify those things.
Very good.
Now I want you to picture these things that you identified that you need to bring into your life,
That you need to cultivate in your life.
Picture them growing in your life just as the new leaves do.
Picture them budding and expanding and flourishing.
Maybe they're leaves,
Maybe they're flowers.
But either way,
We're gaining a visualization of this growth.
Now identify what would life be like if those things were present in my life?
What would my life be like?
What would my life feel like?
How would I feel in my life?
I'm gonna again go silent and allow you time to reflect on those questions.
Beautiful,
Beautiful.
Hold on to that.
Hold on to that as we breathe in and release.
Once more,
Breathe in and release.
Going to slowly begin waking you so you may ideally transition right into journaling.
Let's begin waking the body,
Moving fingers and toes,
Attach your mind to those areas,
Bringing in body presence,
Coming back,
Engaging in any small stretches that you need.
And then I highly recommend you go grab a journal and take some time to write on this reflective meditation.
Thank you so much for joining me.
