If that means you need to take a few moments to move around just a small amount to find a position in which you feel stable and grounded,

Do that now.

Attempt to release any tension or unnecessary strain.

And especially focus on a sense of freedom in the neck and the upper back.

When you find this stable and grounded position for yourself,

Imagine you become like a powerful mountain unmoving,

Unwavering.

Find this unmoving stillness and with your mind's attention placed on the experience of your breath,

Settle in.

Begin first just by noticing your natural in and out breath.

Let it be entirely effortless.

If you find yourself resisting this experience of effortlessness,

Let that be okay.

If your mind connected to your breath in this way,

Begin first with a deep exhalation through your nose.

Feel as though the breath rises up on the inhalation from the very root of your pelvis all the way up the natural curve of your spine to the crown of your head.

When it reaches the crown of your head,

Pause here for just a few moments.

As you exhale,

Send the breath straight down into your heart.

Feel the exhalation enter into your heart and then express outward from your heart into the world.

Continue with this process.

Be sensitive to the experience of the breath as it moves up from the root of the pelvis following the natural curve of your spine.

Once the breath reaches all the way to the crown of your head,

Pause here in a gentle and relaxed way.

Feel as though the exhale waterfalls down into your heart and as you continue to breathe the air out through your nose,

Feel that exhalation project from your heart out into the world.

Continue with this pattern of breathing.

If you notice at any time that you feel unnecessarily strained or effortful,

Take a break,

A few natural inhales and exhales and then start again inhaling up the natural curve of your spine.

Feel the inhalation moving upward in this serpent-like way.

At the very top of the head,

Pause.

Experience the space at the crown of the head,

An energetic center for wisdom.

When you feel that you can no longer hold the breath with this experience of effortlessness,

Cascade the breath down into the heart and out into the world.

Begin to invite in a sense of passion to the practice,

An emotional experience combined with the movement of the breath.

Feel the power of the uprising warrior within you as the breath serpents up the spine all the way into the wisest part of your human being form.

Pause the breath with this passionate embrace,

Holding it inside of your wisdom center and then crash it down right into your heart,

Sending it out into the world.

Begin to let the breath be more deep,

More passionate.

Allow your breath to encompass the sense of profundity,

A profound inhalation,

Serpent-like as it moves up the natural curve of your spine,

A profound withholding as you lock the energy in right at the very center of your wisdom self,

A profound crashing down as the breath moves into your heart and you send compassionate wisdom out into the world.

Use this emotional energy to fuel the breath energy,

To fuel the wisdom energy,

To fuel the compassionate energy,

And with each next inhale,

With each next pause,

With each next emanation outward,

Be wholly and completely nobody special.

Remain in this place of being nobody special and muster up all the passionate energy you have to end the suffering of all beings who exist on the planet,

Not just with ignorant compassion,

Not just with ignorant wisdom,

But with the wisdom that greets compassion and has exactly the right tools to save the world.

Let this be your mantra.

I am here to connect deeply so that others may not suffer.

I am here to connect deeply so that others may not suffer.

Continue to breathe in this way.

You may notice that the body begins to move.

It's okay.

If it feels like moving,

Let it.

This is the passionate energy.

This is the passionate uncoiling of the energy coming from the root of your pelvis.

Breathe it up.

Breathe it powerfully up.

Hold it in.

Breathe it out.

Breathe it powerfully out.

And beyond yourself.

Finish your next exhale.

Let your breath return to normal.

Allow the wavering thinking mind to rest inside of your body.

Be with the experience of being alive,

The magical divine experience of human life.

Let go of thought and drop into feeling.

You are a powerful,

Alive human being.

Your job on this planet is not to live only for yourself.

Your job on this planet is to be a hero for all others who need you.

Connect to yourself for the sake of humanity.

Breathe in deep,

Full,

Long.

Open your mouth.

Breathe out powerful.

Empty your lungs.

Let go.

Let go of any effort.

Rest inside the space of being nobody special,

Doing nothing very important.

Take as much time as you need here.

When you feel ready,

Open your eyes and go about your day.

Really great guided meditation, your voice is a great tone because I like to turn my meditations down and I could still hear your guiding. Still sitting with the nobody special, nobody important piece. I like the mantra as well. I will go and connect deeply today as a teacher in this worldso others don't have to suffer!

Good morning from Goa. Just love the visualisation incorporating the spine - I have scoliosis but using a serpent metaphor I can empower rather than ignore the weakness in my back. I got a little confused with the nobody special doing nothing important- especially after guided that there were people that needed one and the reference to hero. Would love some insight into this as it throws me somewhat when I get to that point. Thank you. Wishing you well. Helene

Thank you Sarah for this beautiful and powerful meditation. I come away feeling so alive, centered, grounded and energetic. I am motivated to follow my path of service with a sense of gratitude that I am able to do and see what needs to be done. What I need to do. Such clarity and inspiration! πŸ™πŸ»πŸ™πŸ»πŸ™πŸ»
