Welcome to this meditation called The Tranquil Commute,
A Train Ride Through Switzerland.
I'm Sara Zanacroce,
Your Swiss guide,
And I'll take you through this practice.
I'm recording this on a sunny day from my home office in Switzerland.

For this meditation,
We'll imagine ourselves on a Swiss train,
Quietly navigating its way through stunning landscapes.
Maybe you're yourself on your commute,
On a train,
Subway,
Or in your car.
So if you are,
Just get as comfortable as you can.
And if you're listening to this meditation at home,
Just find a comfortable position to sit,
Or you can also lie down if you prefer.
Let's get started.
Gently close your eyes if that feels safe.
And start by taking a deep,
Calming breath in through your nose.
Feel your lungs fill completely.
Hold that breath for a moment.
And now slowly exhale through your mouth,
Releasing any tension or stress.
Allow your breath to flow naturally,
Deeply and evenly now.
In through your nose,
Hold,
And out through your mouth.
In each breath,
Feel more relaxed and at ease.
And now bring your focus to your body.
Feel the weight of your body supported by the seat or support beneath you.
Let your shoulders drop away from your ears,
And feel any tightness in your neck or jaw.
Start to ease.
Allow your hands to rest gently with your fingers relaxed.
Take a few more deep breaths,
And when each exhale,
Let go of any lingering tension.
And now imagine you are seated in a red and white Swiss train.
The interior is warm and cozy,
With plush seats and large windows that offer a panoramic view of the landscape.
There is lots of leg space,
So you can stretch your legs out a bit.
As you are looking out the window,
A Swiss countryside is rushing by,
A blur of green meadows,
Quaint villages and distant snow-capped mountains,
Each moment revealing a new postcard perfect view.
The rolling hills are dotted with colorful wildflowers,
And you can see the occasional picturesque village nestled in the valleys,
Each one of them with a little chapel or church.
The sunlight filters through the trees,
Casting a gentle dappled light across the landscape.
As you continue to gaze out the window,
Notice the sense of tranquility that surrounds you.
The rhythmic sound of the train on the tracks creates a soothing background noise.
The Swiss trains are super quiet,
You are thinking to yourself.
Let the sound lull you into a deeper state of relaxation,
As if the train is carrying away your stress and worries.
As you look back out the windows,
Now the majestic Swiss Alps come into view.
Picture the towering mountains,
Their peaks capped with snow,
Reaching toward the sky.
The mountains stand strong and serene,
Their presence evoking a profound sense of calm,
Groundedness and awe inside of you.
Feel the expansive beauty of these mountains.
Feel your mind and heart,
Allow yourself to become fully immersed in this serene environment.
With each passing scene,
Imagine any tension or stress in your body is gently melting away.
It's just you and Swiss nature.
Breathe in the fresh,
Crisp air of the Swiss countryside with each inhale,
And as you exhale,
Release any tension or anxiety,
Letting it drift away with the movement of the train.
Focus on the natural beauty around you.
Notice the textures of the landscape,
The gentle sway of the train,
And the way the light changes as the train moves through different areas.
Feel a deep connection to the serene surroundings,
Allowing them to wash over you and bring a sense of peace.
As the train continues its journey,
Imagine yourself reflecting on the calm and beauty you're experiencing.
Feel gratitude for this time to yourself,
And for the opportunity to escape the hustle and bustle of your commute,
Even if just for a few moments.
Let's focus on a few affirmations to deepen this sense of calm.
Silently repeat to yourself.
I am calm and relaxed during my commute.
I embrace this time as an opportunity for peace and reflection.
I am present and grounded.
Feel the truth of these statements resonate within you.
And take a few more breaths now,
Feeling more grounded and centered with each inhale and exhale,
Allowing yourself to fully absorb the tranquility of this imagined journey,
Knowing that you can return to this sense of peace whenever you need.
And now,
For these last moments,
Just enjoy this moment of deep rest and relaxation on your Swiss train,
In your own personal inner sanctuary,
A place where you go to feel your true self,
Secure,
Grounded,
And a deep sense of peace and inner love for yourself and all of life around you.
And now,
Bring your awareness back to your breath,
And just allow your body to breathe for you,
With no effort whatsoever.
And when you're ready,
Bring your awareness back to the present moment,
And gently open your eyes,
Carrying the calm and relaxation of this journey with you to this new day.
