This practice aims to help you switch out of autopilot, from a mindless running around, to a more tuned in state of heart and mind. Checking in with how you are really doing, how you are feeling, and becoming more attuned to the body. Taking a few minutes out of your busy day can assist you in managing your day versus your day managing you.

We will be doing a brief,

Mindful check-in.

Switching off of autopilot as we go about our day and taking a moment to check inward and see how we're really doing.

So begin by closing down your eyes,

If that's comfortable.

And start to focus on your breathing.

Just noticing,

As if for the first time,

Your breath.

Now taking this moment to shift into more body awareness.

Just noticing how the body feels,

Whether there are areas of tension,

Heaviness,

Or lightness.

Just checking in with any sensations in the body,

And just getting curious.

What's going on?

Continuing to breathe.

And now shifting your attention to your thoughts.

What's chattering in your brain today,

In this moment?

What thoughts are present?

Is there a theme around your thoughts?

Are you planning?

Are you judging?

Just noticing thoughts that are present,

And finally turning to the heart and checking in with feelings and emotions that are present.

Right here,

Right now.

How am I feeling?

Taking a deep,

Long breath.

And expressing gratitude that you took this moment to switch off of autopilot and into a more mindful state,

Where you checked in and paid attention.

Thanks for listening.
