Welcome to the Heart Chakra Meditation.
The Heart Chakra,
Also known as Anahata Chakra in Sanskrit,
Is the middlemost energy center of the body,
Located right in the center of the chest.
A balanced Heart Chakra usually means that you'll feel connected to everything and everyone around you.
There's a sense of empathy and compassion that feels easily accessible.
You might feel more accepted and others might feel more accepted from you without reservations.
You might find that there is a greater capacity for gratitude and appreciating the beauty of the world around you and finding magic in the mundane,
Feeling more content.
You might love freely with no strings attached and also truly love yourself.
If it's a little bit unbalanced,
You might find that maybe there's a lot of trauma arising from past or present events that are hindering a feeling or a genuine love for yourself or love for others.
You might find that you're a little bit more depressive or sedentary and feeling detached.
You might find that your socialization with others is limited,
Either because of outside reasons or because you're just feeling really closed off.
So in this meditation,
We'll focus on being love,
Giving love,
And receiving love.
We'll use the voice as well to tap into the energy center.
And the Bij mantra or the seed chant that helps to activate and open up through the Heart Chakra is yum.
So when you're ready,
Find maybe a comfortable chair that you can sit in with your feet flat on the ground or sit on a meditation cushion,
Wherever you feel most comfortable,
Wherever you're able to be most at ease in your body.
And once you find a comfortable position,
Make sure that you can maintain it.
And also give yourself permission to shift and move as necessary if you start to get uncomfortable.
Now once you are ready to begin,
Either close your eyes or keep them just a little bit open with a soft gaze.
And then bring your awareness into the breath.
And recognize the rise and fall of your chest,
Your belly,
The natural waves of breath,
The rhythm as it stirs in and out.
And just sit in observation with your natural breath cycle for a few moments.
And as the inhale moves into your body,
Feel the space it creates,
Maybe even as the chest and ribs start to expand in all directions.
And as the exhale flows out,
Feel if there's a heaviness or a settling that might happen.
If you find your thoughts wander,
Either now or throughout the meditation,
Just gently come back.
Thoughts are okay,
They're natural,
It's what an intelligent evolved brain does.
So try not to get overwhelmed with thought,
Just let them come,
Welcome them,
And then gently let them go on their way by coming back to the breath,
Coming back to my voice,
And returning to this meditation.
Now take two or three really deep breaths,
Breathe in through your nose,
And as you exhale,
Breathe out through your mouth,
Maybe make a sound.
And then a few more times,
Breathe in deeply.
And exhale,
Let it go.
And just once more.
Now return to the natural rhythm of your breathing.
And as you breathe in,
Start to shift your breath so it starts to fill into your belly.
And as you fill into your belly,
Allow then your ribs and your chest to also start to fill.
Inhale as much as you can.
And then as you exhale,
Slowly release the air as if you were emptying from the top of your chest first,
And then to the ribs,
And eventually the belly.
So obviously when you breathe in,
You're not breathing beyond your lungs,
But imagine or visualize and try to focus the breath into the belly.
So breathe into the belly,
And then to the ribs,
And then to the chest,
And then exhale from the top from the chest,
And then the ribs,
And then the belly.
Do this just a few more times.
Good.
And then return to your natural rhythm of your breath.
And bring your attention into your heart center,
The area right in the center of your chest.
And then you're in a space where unconditional love and connection and empathy reside.
Your Anahata Chakra.
Visualize a tiny green light spinning in a spiral right at the heart center.
With your next inhale,
Imagine or visualize and grow this light a little bit bigger so that this green light starts to fill up the size of your heart.
And as you exhale,
Breathe out this green light into the space around you so that this green light starts to surround your whole body.
Inhale again,
Growing the light within.
And exhale,
Allow it to emanate all around you.
Inhale,
Breathe in more love.
Fill up your heart and chest.
And as you exhale,
Allow it to radiate in all directions.
With each inhale,
Imagine that green light growing brighter in the center of your chest,
Infusing your whole being with compassion,
Empathy and connection.
And as you exhale,
Allow that love,
Compassion,
Empathy and connection to spill out in all directions.
And as you continue to inhale,
Repeat to yourself,
I am love.
On your exhale,
I give love.
On your inhale,
I receive love.
And on your exhale,
I give love.
And as your self-love increases,
Know that your love for others also increases.
That your capacity to appreciate all that is good,
All that is beautiful,
Just continually re-energizes and infuses you with even more of that loving energy,
That love is limitless.
There is no capacity,
Max capacity.
And as you continue to cultivate this green light,
This love within,
Tapping into self-love,
Allowing unconditional love to freely flow,
That you might see the world as a beautiful place and then see that same beauty reflected within yourself.
Now breathe in even more.
As you bring in air,
On your exhale be ready to chant that Biju mantra,
Yam.
So inhale,
Breathe in,
Fill yourself up.
Exhale,
Yam.
Inhale to chant.
Exhale,
Yam.
Inhale to chant.
Exhale,
Yam.
Twice more,
Inhale.
Yam.
Last one,
Inhale.
Yam.
Allow your breathing to return to normal.
Visualize the green light still surrounding you,
Hugging you.
And that the area in and around your heart space are full.
Full with green light,
Full of love.
And each breath you take is love.
Each exhale you release is love.
Now repeat these affirmations,
Either silently in your own mind or aloud after I speak it.
I am connected to others.
I am connected to the earth.
I am love.
I give love.
I receive love.
My heart is open.
I am grateful.
I love myself.
I see beauty in people all around me.
That same beauty is reflected within me.
I accept myself just as I am.
I am surrounded by love.
I am love.
I give love.
I receive love.
Now bring your hands out in front of you,
As if you were going to join the hands together in Anjali Mudra or prayer,
But don't bring them to touch just yet.
As if you were holding a ball or an orb in front of your heart space in between your hands.
And with your eyes either closed or softly open,
Just imagine that green ball of light.
Maybe even feel pulsations in the palms of the hands.
Just a few more moments here as you continue to cultivate this healing light,
Allow yourself to be energized by it.
To know that is abundant.
It never runs out.
That the more you love,
The more love comes back to you twofold.
And that love is this ever expanding energy.
It's reciprocal.
Slowly join your hands over your heart space one on top of the other.
Feel the love and the light within you.
Feel the light and the love weave in and around your heart,
Emanating around you,
Filling the space around you.
Surrounding your home,
Your community,
Your family,
Your loved ones,
The earth.
Now gradually bring your awareness back to the breath.
Allow yourself to feel the in and out rhythm,
The rise and fall of each inhale and exhale.
And when you're ready,
Gradually open your eyes and go out into your day,
Knowing that you are love,
You give love,
And you receive love.
And that all of the beauty that you might see in the world around you is just a reflection of what's already within.
Thank you for joining me for this meditation.
