A gentle, guided practice (with music) to help you access peace, calm, and room to breathe if life or emotions feel overwhelming. This practice is beautiful at any time of day but can be particularly helpful at the end of the day and before bed so you can create space in the body and mind for sleep. It's also helpful if you've been experiencing prolonged periods of stress, anxiety, tension, or big life events or challenges. It's lovingly crafted to nurture and soothe the body, mind, and being so you can access a little more calm and clarity to weather the storm. I hope it's helpful. The background music is "Ease" by Insight Timer teacher Chris Collins (purchased and used with permission).

Hello beautiful soul.

If you've been feeling really stuck in any emotions,

I would love to share with you a short practice,

Guided practice,

To help you step out of those feelings so that you can experience a little bit of respite and a little bit of room to breathe.

So I invite you to make yourself as comfortable as you can right now.

Closing down your eyes if it feels safe and comfortable.

And whether you see,

Sense,

Feel,

Intend or just follow this practice through,

It's perfect.

Don't worry about overthinking it or trying too hard.

Just allow it to come to you in the way that feels natural and easy for you.

So I wonder if you can imagine yourself wearing all of these feelings that you feel stuck in,

As if you're wearing lots and lots of layers of clothes.

And just imagine safely,

Gently and so easily,

One by one,

Taking these layers off.

And with each layer that you remove and let drop away,

It brings a little bit of space,

Peace,

Calm,

Safety and relaxation back to the body.

You can take as long as you need.

Just imagining removing all of these layers,

Stepping out of the feelings as if they're a suit that you've been wearing.

Allowing yourself to be free from the feelings,

Which allows you to come back to the true nature of yourself.

The true feeling,

The true essence of you,

Which is peace,

Which is calm,

Which is love.

And just gently as you're ready,

Bringing your awareness back to your breath.

Back to the feeling of your body,

Being present in your body.

And when you're ready,

If you have your eyes closed,

Blinking your eyes open,

Allowing yourself to be peaceful and present.

And just checking in with yourself,

How do you feel?

Do you feel the same as before?

Do you feel a little different to before?

Do you feel a lot different to before?

How does it feel now you've stepped out of some of those layers and created a little bit of space for yourself?

And you can revisit that practice anytime you wish,

Wherever you are.

You don't have to close your eyes,

You don't have to go into a meditative state.

You can if you want.

But in any moment you need to,

You can step out of the emotions as if you're taking off layers of clothing.

And just know this isn't about bypassing our emotions or ignoring them or internalizing them.

This practice is meant to create some space when we feel overwhelmed,

Overrun,

Or like it's all a little bit too much.

Allowing us to feel safe in our body,

To reconnect with that true feeling of ourselves,

And to consciously create space for an experience of calm and centered peace.

And from that place we have more capacity more resilience,

More perspective,

More energy available to work through what we're going through.

So this practice is intended to be in support of ourselves and our nervous system and our emotional body and emotional being.

To help create that space so that we can move through our emotions and our experiences safely,

Easily,

Gently,

Consciously and completely.

I hope that this practice has been supportive for you beautiful soul.

I'm sending love and wishes for calm peace and beautiful self-connectedness.

Namaste
