Find a comfortable seat or you can also lay down.

Find a place where you can cultivate awareness but you're also finding a little space of relaxation.

Closing your eyes,

Start to bring all of your attention to your breath.

Noticing your inhales and your exhales,

Seeing which one is longer.

And start to relax the top of your head and the muscles in your face,

Your forehead,

Your eyebrows,

The space between your eyebrows,

Your eyes,

Your temples,

Your cheeks,

Your jaw and your tongue.

Relax your neck and your throat,

Your shoulders,

Your arm,

Your elbows,

Your forearms,

Your hands and each finger.

Relax your chest,

Your shoulder blades,

Your ribs,

The middle of your back.

Relax your belly and relax your low back.

Relax your hips and your thighs,

Hamstrings,

Knees,

Calves,

Shins,

Ankles and feet.

And then bring to mind a part of your body that feels very useful to you.

Can you notice and appreciate?

Notice how this part of your body feels right now in space.

Notice the temperature,

Any sensations,

Maybe a pulse.

And then think to this part of your body,

Thank you,

I love you.

For three breaths,

One time per breath.

Notice a part of your body that feels neutral,

Something you may not notice or think about often.

The first thing that comes to mind is perfect.

Notice how this part of your body feels in space.

Temperature,

Sensations,

Pulse.

And then think to this part of your body,

Thank you,

I love you.

For three breaths,

One time per breath.

And then notice a part of the body that feels a little difficult,

Something that has caused you pain physically or emotionally.

Notice how this part of your body feels in space,

Temperature,

Sensations,

Pulse.

And then think to this space,

Thank you,

I love you,

And I'm sorry.

For three breaths,

One time per breath.

And then coming back up to the top of your head,

Go through every part of your body one at a time and think,

Thank you,

I love you,

One time per body part.

Moving at your own pace,

Thank you,

I love you.

Thank you,

I love you.

Thank you,

I love you.

Without getting caught up in any stories or any judgment.

Every single part of your body is allowed.

Every single part of your body deserves love without exception.

Thank you.

Loved this meditation focus on body parts. We tend to judge and dislike parts of our bodies and this was about giving love to our body parts.

Affected me profoundly, I started crying as soon as I had to thank my body and then didn't stop. It made me realise I have been treating my body as the enemy, feeling its letting me down, when I haven't been looking after it either. So thank you.

Metta for body parts is a creative take on the traditional pleasant, neutral and disagreeable people.
