This is Sarah Eyler with Deep Rest Yoga.

Welcome to this practice to honor the energy of the full moon.

The full moon time is a time to take action,

To finish projects,

To celebrate your successes,

But most importantly,

A time for letting go.

Finding your position of rest now,

Lying on your back or your side,

Making sure that you feel comfortable and safe and fully supported,

Closing down and softening both eyes,

Releasing any visual input and allow your eyes to fully rest,

Gently parting the teeth and softening both sides of your jaw,

Smoothing out your forehead and releasing all the micro-muscles in the face,

Allowing both shoulders and shoulder blades to drop down and melt away from your ears,

Softening your upper arms,

Elbows,

Forearms,

Hands,

And fingers,

Releasing any tightness in your belly,

Both hips,

The lower back,

Softening your thighs,

Your knees,

Abs,

And ankles,

And all ten toes,

Both feet and legs feeling soft and heavy and dropping down even further,

Making any last final adjustments before we settle down into silence and stillness,

Allow the full weight of your body to release down into the surface beneath you,

Starting to leave the realm of thinking and doing and shifting into feeling and sensing,

Allowing the remnants of your day to start to drain away,

Releasing any agitation,

Negativity,

Or turmoil,

And gently coming to rest in this present moment,

Bringing in a sense of thankfulness and gratitude for showing up for yourself just as you are,

Starting to take long,

Deep breaths,

Long,

Slow inhales,

And even longer and slower exhales,

Slowing down the breath and beginning to down-regulate your nervous system,

Inhaling and expanding out,

And then exhaling and bringing all your attention inward,

Breathing in and out,

Letting your breath return to its natural pattern now,

Allowing all your ligaments,

Muscles,

And bones to be loose and heavy,

Becoming heavier and heavier.

In Yoga Nidra,

We flow down through the layers of the self,

Resting down into a deep state of consciousness,

Into a place of quiet serenity where your true self resides.

There is nothing you need to do but deeply rest as I guide you into a deeply relaxing state,

The state of Yoga Nidra,

Dropping all your awareness into your body now,

Noticing the back of your body,

And all the places where the back of your body is making contact with the surface beneath you,

Noticing the front of your body,

Feeling into the outer edges of your body,

And then sensing inside the body,

And from a neutral place,

Just begin to assess and notice the sensations inside your body,

Any sensations that are rising,

Welcoming everything you feel,

Any sensations in the whole body.

I invite you now to gently bring your awareness right to the center of your chest,

Your energetic heart space,

And may you begin to focus on someone or something that you're grateful for in your life.

Perhaps you're feeling gratitude for the full moon,

Or for this time of rest,

Or for the comfort of a good friend,

Or a beloved pet.

Whatever you are grateful for today,

Bring it into your mind and try to visualize it as much as you can using all your senses,

Noticing what it feels like in your body to be grateful,

Tuning into all sensations and emotions arising out of this gratitude.

Now I invite you to visualize that these feelings of gratitude are spreading slowly throughout your entire body,

Through every bone,

Every organ,

And every cell,

Whole body filled with gratitude.

And from this deep sense of gratitude,

I invite you to now bring in your personal intention or Sankalpa,

A powerful word or phrase that will imprint on your subconscious mind.

If you're not currently working with an intention,

Asking yourself,

What needs to be illuminated?

What do I need most in my life right now?

Perhaps a single word is arising,

Like peace,

Love,

Or forgiveness.

Or a positive statement such as,

I live in peace and gratitude.

Or I invite sacred transformation into my life.

Or I trust in myself and the divine flow of the universe.

Bringing in any words that resonate with you and silently repeating them three times with conviction.

On your next inhale,

I invite you to visualize or imagine a moon rising above you,

A circular orb making its way across the nighttime sky.

And as you inhale,

Feel the moonlight flowing down through your body,

Filling you with its radiant energy.

And on your next exhale,

Bring all your awareness to the crown of your head.

And may you begin to imagine the moonlight flowing through your head,

Illuminating your head with its bright healing light.

Imagining the moonlight flowing through your scalp,

Your hair,

Both hemispheres of the brain.

The entire head illuminated with this bright healing light.

Bringing your awareness now down to your forehead.

The moonlight flowing through your forehead,

And releasing any tension or stress that you may be holding here.

Moonlight continuing to flow through both temples,

Both eyes and eye sockets,

Both cheekbones,

Through the bridge of the nose,

And the tip of the nose.

Flowing through both lips,

The inside of the mouth,

Through the tongue and all the teeth,

Through both sides of your jaw,

The chin,

Down through your neck,

To the base of your throat.

Flowing through the center of your chest,

Through both shoulders,

Upper arms,

Both elbows,

Both lower arms,

Both wrists,

Hands,

And all ten fingers.

Illuminating all ten fingers.

Coming back to the low belly,

Through both hips,

Through both knees,

Both lower legs,

Both ankles,

And both feet.

And then illuminating all ten toes at once.

Moonlight flowing through your entire body now,

Resting in this feeling of peace,

This noticing how this feels.

Filled up with the energy and light of the moon.

Taking this moment now to acknowledge the full moon and all of its powerful energy.

Tuning in to your natural breath now.

Just noticing the inhales and the exhales.

The breath moving in and out.

And then on your next inhale,

I invite you to visualize the full moon rising above you.

And may you start to imagine,

Sense,

Or visualize that you can inhale this light in through the crown of your head.

And then as you exhale,

Imagine the light flowing down through your entire body.

Inhaling moonlight through the top of your head,

And exhaling it down through your body.

Inhaling in and exhaling letting it flow.

Breathing the moonlight in and out several more times at your own pace.

Can you visualize or sense now your entire body filled all at once with moonlight?

Lighting up your whole being.

Noticing how it feels to be lit up from within.

And then allowing the moonlight to leave your body,

Flowing out in all directions.

Directions.

Body empty of light.

Radiating outward.

And then pulling all the light back in again.

Whole body filled with light.

Light flowing out again.

Leaving your body and radiating out into the space surrounding you.

And can you now sense the light flowing back and forth?

Inward and then outward.

At your own pace.

Noticing if you can feel both at once now.

Feeling both lit up from within,

And light radiating outward.

Filled with your own light,

And connected to the light of the moon.

And the universal light flowing all around you.

Bringing in a sense of the night time sky above you again.

The full moon shining brightly.

Casting its gentle glow down upon you.

Providing deep relaxation.

A sense of peace and calm washing over your entire body.

Perhaps imagining now a silver cord extending from your heart to the moon.

Creating a powerful connection.

Feeling the moon's gentle energy entering into your heart.

Flowing through your heart as a gentle cleansing force.

Clearing away any blockages or negativity.

Purifying all aspects of yourself.

Clearing away any worries or stress.

Allowing them to effortlessly drift away.

Like clouds floating across a moonlit sky.

Sensing your connection to the natural world and all its cycles.

Remembering the essence of yourself.

Giving thanks for the light shining down.

Welcoming lightness and peace into your whole being.

Bringing your Sankalpa now back into your mind.

And whispering it silently to yourself three times.

Continuing to rest here deeply.

Savoring this feeling of peace,

Wholeness,

And vitality.

Feeling grounded and centered.

Feeling grateful for the moon and its presence.

And then feel yourself starting to return to your body.

Into the room where you're lying.

Coming back to your body and your breath.

Back to this present moment.

And just noticing how you feel.

Noticing if anything has shifted in your body or in your mind.

Coming back to your natural breath.

Taking slow inhales and exhales.

Noticing all the points of contact between your body and the surface beneath you.

Noticing the contact of the clothing on your skin and the air on your face.

Taking two or three deep breaths.

Breathing in and breathing out.

Deciding what part of your body wants to move first.

Maybe your fingers and toes.

Or stretching your spine out long.

Taking any movement or stretch that your body is calling for.

One final deep breath in through the nose.

And exhaling out of the mouth.

When you decide to come up,

Just move slowly and mindfully.

Taking all the time that you need.

Honoring yourself and the effort you made to show up today for your practice.

Thank you for taking this time with me to quiet your mind,

Rest your body,

And honor the energy of the full moon.

The light in me honors the light in you.

Have a wonderful rest of your day.
