I'm Sarah Kohan and welcome to today's laughing meditation on inside timer Today we're gonna do a laughter meditation to help reduce negativity reduce stress and Kind of give our internal body a nice little laughter massage And that will help us shake out any emotions that we're feeling So to start go ahead and just take a seat it can be on the floor on a pillow on your couch It can be in your bed.
You can be lying down.
You can be in the bath,
But careful We don't want you to electrocute yourself.
It can be anywhere that you feel comfortable And we're gonna start by just taking a couple deep breaths arriving back into our body Go ahead and take a deep breath in And a deep breath out So for this one,
I want you to pull your pelvic floor down feel that deep breath in And go ahead and breathe out through your crown chakra just straight right out of the top of your head.
Give me another one And just a little sigh when you're done with that one,
Yes And to get started in Laughter yoga,
There's a little trick of the trade called fake it till you make it And I don't suggest this for the rest of your life But I do suggest it for this and it kind of reminds me of how I got actually got started with meditation I didn't know what I was doing.
So I just faked it until I made it right So to get started we're just gonna do we're gonna do a few laughs together And I'm gonna give you a visit visualization and I want you to just you know Fake the first couple until you actually really feel that laughter in your belly So to get us started,
I'm gonna give you a little visual today at the farmers market.
I was shopping For carrots and The vendor gave me two carrots that were twisted around each other and I just thought oh These are the cutest carrots And then I was like,
Oh my god,
I wonder if they actually wanted to be twisted around each other What if one of them wanted like a really independent lifestyle And the other one was like,
Yeah,
No you have to be here with me.
That's how they ended up toys together It's so funny to think of carrots as humans Oh Go ahead and take a deep breath in Then let it out Yes And so for this next one I want you to put your hand one hand on your belly and then one hand on your heart.
Mm-hmm Okay,
This next one.
I want you to think about a crab.
Mm-hmm.
That's living under the sea and he's a painter Oh,
He's got his little beret And he's got his little paintbrush A pot of paints and he's watching he's just painting the other fish swimming by Some of them like just talk to him and say hello.
Oh my gosh.
What are you painting?
I want you to feel your belly lap against your organs inside of your body Now I want you to feel your other hand on your heart and then I want you to feel your chest tighten Rise and fall with each of your laughs Rise and fall with each of your laughs Such a nice gentle massage take a deep breath in And a sigh out.
Yes,
Let it all out One more Hmm and brothers Next one.
I want you to think about a rabbit.
Mm-hmm That's in outer space and he's wearing a space suit and he's dancing around outer space and he's got a whole choreographed routine Why did he get there?
Why did he choreograph this routine to perform in outer space?
It's perfectly tailored for him It's perfectly tailored for him Take a deep breath in I know it's not what you just stretch your whole body stretch your arms and your legs out And then come back to your seated position I Hope you enjoyed today's laughter meditation.
