Welcome,
Friends.
Today's meditation is themed around the divine feminine archetype,
The controversial archetype of the witch.
Now,
The goddesses that really connect to this image in our minds of the witch are goddesses such as Curidwen,
The Welsh goddess who has her cauldron that she stirs,
And this cauldron represents magic,
Death,
Rebirth and transformation.
And the Russian goddess Babiaga,
The wild forest woman who is painted as this scary witch who lived in the forest.
Now,
Both these goddesses are powerful,
And both these goddesses are beautiful,
But over the years the idea of the witch,
The idea of this woman with power,
Has scared people.
And from this fear people have sought to ridicule or say negative things about the goddess and the witch.
When in fact,
All a witch is,
Everything a witch is,
Is connection.
Connection to her own power,
Connection to the forests,
The earth and the natural world,
Connection to your own intuition and power of transformation.
So the witch archetype is not one to be feared,
But one to be embraced.
One within which we can remember our own power and our own connection to witchcraft and magic should we choose to seek it.
Now before we settle down in our meditation to reclaim our inner witch,
I want you to find some material,
A blanket,
A throw,
A jumper,
A dressing gown,
A towel,
Anything that you can wrap around yourself.
This will help you feel cosy and comfortable,
But more than that my darlings,
Today this material you wrap around yourself is going to represent your witch's cloak.
This is a cloak of our innate power as women,
As witches.
It is a reminder that there is the power of magic within us all.
Over years we have been separated from our power,
Our intuition,
Our knowledge of the natural world and its rhythms.
But here my beautiful witches,
As we once again take hold of our cape and wrap it around us,
We begin to remember.
We begin to connect to a line of magic that runs through us all.
And as you settle and relax in your comfortable place,
Wrapped warm,
Allow this blanket of warmth around you to represent anything you need in this moment.
It might be love,
Healing,
Forgiveness,
Strength.
Allow yourself to be wrapped in this feeling and allow yourself to begin to relax.
Perhaps the eyes gently close and the breath begins to calm and we find ourselves settling into peace,
Into restfulness.
As we allow the body to settle into stillness and into calm.
We find ourselves in our minds eye standing barefoot upon soft green grass.
Above us the night sky shines with moonlight and starlight.
And as we envisage this space,
We see the cloak with which we wear has transformed.
It may be transformed with colour,
Sparkles,
Sequins.
It may be decorated intricately with leaves or animals or symbols.
Allow yourself time to visualise yourself.
Standing tall,
Feet grounded in the earth,
Beautiful cape wrapped around your shoulders.
You feel connected and calm in your surroundings.
Each of the elements around you here,
As your feet rest in the earth and the gentle evening air swirls around you.
The warmth and fire of the stars above you and also your inner warmth and your inner fire.
And the water of the blood running through your veins.
Each element is here with you as you connect to this space.
Around you tall trees loom reaching up skywards.
And as you stand taking in your environment,
You see slowly more women walking barefoot on the grass,
Each with her own cloak of magic and beauty.
The women emerge from trees and walk through paths.
You meet here under the night sky.
And when you are gathered,
You begin a slow and easeful walk upon the grass to a special place.
As you walk in the earth,
You feel the connection with the ground.
You pass under low branches of leaves and fruits and blossoms.
And you thank the trees for the shelter they offer you as you wind into the woods.
And as you walk through nature lit coolly by moonlight,
You may find yourself picking a sprig of mint to cool and calm or chamomile to soothe or maybe a rosebud for love.
And I am sure that you already knew what these flowers and plants mean without me even saying.
Because deep within your blood and bones,
There is knowledge.
Knowledge of the women that came before you.
Knowledge of the healers,
The herbalists,
The wise women who helped and healed others.
These are the witches.
They are not cruel or evil.
They are healers.
They are helpers.
They are creators.
This is the legacy of the wise women.
The legacy of connection with the natural world that runs within all our bones,
Our blood and our hearts.
And as you take your quiet walk through the woods,
Each of the women on this journey feel this connection to each other and the world.
As we take this journey to reclaim what is already ours,
A knowledge,
An intuition and a connection that has always been within us.
As we arrive in a forest clearing,
The trees encircle you,
Keeping you safe and sheltered.
Above you,
The night sky shines with moon and stars and your group of women create a circle,
Holding hands,
A kaleidoscope of colours and faces and souls come together in circle.
Feet in the earth and sending hearts skyward,
Connecting in circle,
Connecting in sisterhood,
Reconnecting to the elements,
Reconnecting to our intuition and reclaiming the knowledge of our ancestors,
Reclaiming the power that was always within us.
Here in this place,
Beautiful sisters,
We reclaim the witch,
We reclaim our inner wise woman,
We reclaim the woman who knows,
The woman who sees,
The woman who is power.
We reclaim the woman who knows,
The woman who sees,
The woman who sees,
The woman who knows,
The religion that we inherited,
We reclaim the woman who expressing our power,
And as you,
As this group of women,
Gaze to the sky,
A flash of light,
A shooting star crosses the sky and you feel empowered by your time with the witches,
Your time with your ancestors,
Your time with your sisters.
And as you release the circle,
Releasing each other's hands,
The circle is open but never broken.
And as you part on this great moon night,
You know you can reconnect and reclaim whenever you wish.
And you can leave this wooded sanctuary whenever you feel ready in your mind's eye,
But I will leave the music playing so that you can stay here in your power,
In your safe place,
For as long as you wish.
Blessed be my witches.
So as we come to the end of our witch meditation,
You are welcome to sit down.
You may wish to stay here as long as you wish,
But should you want to,
Feel free to wiggle your fingers and toes as we begin to bring ourselves back to the real world.
And you may simply wish to sit and reflect with this journey you have taken today,
Or as always I offer you a chance here to gather your notebook and pen and write down the qualities of the witch that you possess.
Whether you wish to call yourself a witch or not,
You may consider yourself a healer,
A creator,
A wise woman,
And we are all wise women.
You may be interested in herbs and herb law,
Or astrology.
There is so much in the realm of witchcraft and knowledge that there is always something to be drawn from this area.
So feel free to note down any skills or ideas or knowledge that you possess that helps you be exactly your own kind of witch.
This journey is about connecting to your own power,
Your own skills,
And claiming them proudly as your own.
So I will see you soon my darlings.
Feel free to work with this as long as you wish,
And I will see you for our next meditation soon.

Beautiful meditation! My favorite so far in this series! I met a soul sister in the woods as we all walked to the clearing. She remained with me throughout the journey. I hope that she and I meet again…

I've always feared Baba Yaga listening to fairy-tales as a kid. Not anymore I guess. My favourite meditation for now, I feel so excited! Thank you! 🔮
