Hello my dear,

This is Sarah Grace and the meditation practice to come is for you to untangle from life's fast moving events and retreat for a bit.

So come and join me in finding a position that serves you in this very moment.

Whether that's seated or resting your whole body on the ground.

Ideally you want to start with cultivating a sense of relaxation right here,

Right now.

Rest all your weight into the arms of gravity.

Soften your gaze and when you feel ready close down your eyelids and enter this part of yourself where all the noise fades away.

Bring the fingers of both your hands to the middle of your forehead and as you draw them towards your temples imagine that you pull away the dust,

The grey layers,

All that stuff that keeps the light from shining through your skull.

Repeat this a couple times.

Keep pulling back layer by layer and every time visualize the surface of a window becoming a little cleaner.

If it feels good,

Enhance this imagery with breaths that move deeper.

Just like a crisp breeze streaming in and out and cleaning your interior.

When you are ready,

Descend your hands down and rest them in your lap or on your thighs.

Let your mind wander along the events of your day.

All your laughter,

Your little joys and also your anger,

Maybe your fear,

Your impatience.

Observe even the bruises that life skillfully sculptured upon you today.

My God,

You are actually made of stardust.

You truly are the universe expressing itself.

And yet you have come here to have a human experience.

You came here to feel all the feelings and think all of those little thoughts but not to be stuck in them.

So instead of clinging to one or another,

Let them brush through you and ultimately notice that you are not the experience but the one that is experiencing it.

Begin to notice that you are not the thought.

You're the thinker.

You are not the feeling itself.

You are the one who feels it.

You are the one who can choose wherever the focus goes.

And as you might have heard,

Wherever attention goes,

Energy flows.

So if you are stuck in your mind too tightly,

Focus on the blue sky.

All of those little thoughts are like clouds and naturally on some days there are less and some days there are more of them.

And sometimes the clouds are so present that you easily get lost in them.

But there is always blue sky there.

In your mind,

Look up for a while.

Decide to collimate your awareness on the blue between the single clouds.

You will begin to see that breath by breath the space in between expands.

Let us lean into stillness together between five and ten breaths.

If your monkey mind begins to hustle for your attention,

Smile because you noticed and shine light on its movement and simply surrender to the blue in between again.

It Saint Brice.

The great poet Rumi says,

You are not a drop in the ocean.

You are the entire ocean in a drop.

Do not pick,

Cling and identify to the manifold experiences that weave their way through your storyline.

Instead,

Cultivate a practice of retreating in stillness,

Just like we did for a couple of breaths together.

Lean into yourself.

I mean into your true self.

The soft presence behind it all.

You are complete.

You are dazzling and full of wonders.

Even after this meditation that the two of us just shared,

Let your awareness dangle in the ever present undercurrent of truly belonging.

Even when life persuades you to chase a certain high or hold on to a lull.

Know that what you are is a gentle force greater than all and with a smile,

Watch the momentary tension dissolving.

Merge your hands at your heart and make a silent pact with your magnificent self.

A pact that you will come back here to feel your true wild nature again and again until this remembrance took root in your life so that it can ripple forth and spread.

Thank you for giving yourself this time.

I am eternally grateful to walk this earth with compassionate humans like you.

May you find moments of ease and grace through it all.
