Join me for just a very brief and sweet check-in with your own heart.
So wherever you are at the moment,
Whether it's still early in the morning or maybe you have been already waiting through the whole day and so much has been going on in your mind,
Join me for a moment of stillness.
And for this short practice,
I invite you to welcome a smile on your lips.
And from the smile,
Stretch up your arms.
Stretch them all the way up to the sky as high as you can.
Lift your fingertips a little higher and then wide out to the side.
Eventually make little circles with your hands and keep them soft while stretching your arms out wide.
Biologically,
Your arms grew from the same tissue as your heart.
So while you are reaching,
Think of that you're really reaching from your heart.
Let them float up towards the sky one more time.
And then soften your arms and allow your hands to land wherever they find their place.
Elongate your spine and lift up the crown of your head.
Let your breath gently rush through your system and cleanse it.
Take a couple of breaths where you notice that with each in and each exhalation,
Your breathing cycles become more soft,
More sweet.
Eventually even a little more open.
Allow your shoulders to melt down.
Soften around your collarbones.
And then very,
Very slightly lift up your heart a little bit.
And from this newly created space,
Let your breath flow deeper inside of you and fill you even more.
And when it's time to release your breath,
Let it go so easily.
Just two more breaths where you really actively lengthen every inhalation and every exhalation.
And come back to a natural breathing cycle.
Sink into a couple of moments in complete stillness.
And while you do so,
Think of your heart.
Think of how it's blossoming,
How it's opening.
Maybe you want to widen the front side of your body a little more.
And still stay with that smile,
That softness on your lips.
While you widen and open your outer body to whatever comes your way,
Greeting it with grace.
Allow this smile to unfold within you and fill you to the tips of your fingers.
Allow yourself a couple of more moments in this sweet spot with nothing to do,
Nowhere to be.
It's just you and your breath.
And with this feeling,
Bring your hands together to a soft little prayer in front of your heart.
And a moment of gratitude to end your meditation practice.
To again check in with yourself,
With your body,
Your mind,
Your heart.
And to bow to your unique human experience.
Namaste.
