Welcome,
Dear friends.
This is Sarah and I'm so happy to be back with you again.
I'd like to start by apologising for not being around for the last moon cycle but lots of changes in work and life and a pandemic got in the way.
But I couldn't let this full moon in Taurus pass by without sharing a practice with you.
As always,
This practice is guided and it's interactive so there will be space for you to journal,
To consider some prompts and because it's a full moon we will do a little releasing ritual together.
This full moon is a special moon.
Not only does it fall on Halloween or as we say in Scotland,
Samhain,
But it's also a blue moon and a blue moon just means that it's the second full moon in a calendar month.
This full moon has a very tight conjunction to the planet Uranus.
So there's lots of volatile energy floating around with this full moon.
So let's explore that together,
Let's have some space to be still and quiet and consider all the themes.
If you haven't already,
It would be good to grab your journal or a notebook or pen and paper and find a quiet place to sit.
Samhain is the Witch's New Year.
It has its origins in the Celtic festival of the end of harvest season and the beginning of winter.
This is the time for us to begin doing inner work.
As the season changes,
The nights get darker,
It gets colder,
We turn inward and we do all that self-discovery work,
Shadow work and healing while the earth is asleep so that we're ready to emerge again with the light in spring.
Legend says that the veil is thin at this time of year and we are much more able to be in contact with our deep inner knowing.
A lot has been written about this full moon and its conjunction with Uranus.
A conjunction just means that two planets are almost at the same degree of the same sign.
So for this full moon,
The moon and Uranus are in Taurus and they're within three degrees of each other so they're really close together.
Uranus is the Great Awakener.
It's the planet that brings us rapid change and sometimes it shocks or surprises us into realisation.
So with it being very close to this full moon,
Which is always a point in the lunar cycle where things are illuminated and revealed,
That's why we see so much information out there about shocks and surprises happening and revelations happening with this full moon.
It's also why it's linked to earth events,
Both Uranus and Taurus and full moon,
It's fixed earth energy.
So that's why we hear a lot about earth events happening around this full moon.
As always we take the energy and the astrology of every full and new moon and we relate it to our lives,
We relate the themes to our lives and we use them to help us live fully in alignment with our intentions and to enhance anything that we're manifesting.
Sometimes rapid change is upon us and it can feel unsettling,
It can feel disturbing and it can make us feel anxious and on edge and that's the type of energy that we experience here.
So as we go through we'll think about how we can navigate that energy and how we can use it to understand what realisations we have come to about ourselves in the past few months.
Let's begin by thinking about Samhain and the beginning of winter and the beginning of us turning inward.
Let's take some time to plan for that.
Consider now what inner work you will do this winter.
Consider how you will navigate the darker nights.
Consider what supports you need.
Take two minutes to write that all down and I'll keep an eye on the time for you and let you know when it's time to move on.
.
.
.
There's one minute left.
Think about all the inner work that you can do.
What patterns do you need to change?
What limiting beliefs do you need to let go of?
What's coming up to be dealt with and processed?
How can you find light in darkness?
Awareness is the great awakener and sometimes it brings us realisations about our self and might shock us or surprise us and it brings awakening to new ideas and new ways of doing things and that is a theme that we see for the rest of this year as the energy starts to change and shift and we move into this wonderful new way of doing things.
So next let's consider what is awakening within you?
I'll keep an eye on the time for you and I'll come back to you in two minutes.
I'll come back to you in two minutes.
You have one minute left.
Consider realisations that you've had about yourself,
About your life and about things which must change.
Now that we've considered what this moon is illuminating and throwing a light on with yourness let's think about that fixed earth energy.
When we go through times of real radical change and upheaval it can feel really destabilising,
It can feel stressful and that can manifest in different ways.
We feel our anxiety in the body as well as our emotional and our mental health.
So how can we become fixed earth when change is whirling all around us?
When things feel unsteady,
Unsettled how can we remain calm and grounded and learn to embrace and go with the flow?
What tools do we need to be able to do that?
How can we find stillness and calm and centre ourselves when the world feels on a crazy journey?
Take two minutes to write all of those things down.
How can you be grounded,
Calm and centred,
How can you learn to embrace change and go with the flow?
I'll keep an eye on the time for you and I'll come back to you in two minutes.
God bless you.
You have one minute left.
Here are all the tools that you have at your disposal to stay calm in the storm.
The full moon is always our release point of the cycle.
It's the highest energy phase and it's the time when we might start to see our intentions fully manifest in our lives.
If you set intentions with the new moon,
Look back to the Taurus new moon earlier this year.
Have a look at your intentions from then and see where they're showing up.
We use the light of the full moon to illuminate what we must release in order to move forward.
So take two minutes now on this magical full moon and Samhain day to ask your inner self what must I now release.
Write them all down.
I'll come back to you in two minutes.
One more.
You have one minute left.
What have you realised that you must release?
What's your mind?
Let's use the energy of this film and symbolically release everything that we wrote down.
We're in Scotland where Samhain has its roots in the Celtic festival.
Bonfires are traditional and they were lit to scare away any spirits that people thought might be lurking around when the veil is thin.
It's also where the tradition of trick or treating comes from.
In Scotland we call it guising,
Which is a shortened version of the word disguise.
And it was felt that if children went out in disguise,
They would be safe on this night.
So if you're having a bonfire,
Maybe you'd like to take your piece of paper that you wrote down everything you wish to release on and burn it in your bonfire.
If you're at home,
You can safely rip it into small pieces,
Burn it and finish by saying it is done.
Happy Halloween,
Happy Fomin,
Happy Samhain.
Talk to you soon.
