
Heart Coherence

In this meditation, we combine breathing and unconditional presence to transform fear into love, and stress into relaxation. Heart Coherence allows you to harmonize the mind and heart while invoking a feeling of wholeness.
Transcript
So welcome to the heart coherence meditation.
And for this meditation,
I invite you to sit or lay down comfortably so you're able to relax into the experience.
And then you can gently close your eyes,
Bringing your attention inward.
Allowing yourself to feel and witness what is happening within you.
Calling back all your awareness into the present moment.
Bringing your mind into your body to where you are right now.
Allowing yourself to feel the chair you're sitting in,
Maybe the mattress or the ground you're laying or sitting down on.
For a moment just to feel your environment and to feel yourself sitting in the environment.
Allowing yourself to become aware of the,
Still might be some fears and stress or tension present in your body.
Allowing your body to gently move a little if you want to.
And then we're going to start off this meditation with a breathing sequence that allows our heart rate to slow down and to reenter a more harmonious state.
For this breathing sequence,
We're going to breathe in for seven seconds,
Hold the breath for four and exhale slowly for eight seconds.
And I'll be guiding you through the process.
And then I invite you to put one hand on top of your heart and one hand on top of your lower belly.
And just before we start,
First allowing yourself to take a few slow breaths in and out.
Feeling your belly expand with each inhale.
And your chest moving up.
Your lungs expanding.
And with the exhale,
To feel your belly and your lungs emptying again,
Caving in.
Creating space for new air to reenter.
And just for a moment to continue to witness the process.
Feeling the air enter through your nose or your mouth and allowing you to gently release again.
And for the heart coherence,
Release again.
And then we're going to take a few more breaths in.
And for the heart coherence breathing,
We're going to inhale through the nose and exhale through the mouth.
And also be aware to allow your jaw muscles also to relax.
And also your hands and your feet.
And then we're going to start with the first breathing sequence.
Allowing yourself to deeply inhale.
Deeply inhale.

And then you can allow yourself to come back to your natural breathing pattern again.
And also allowing yourself to witness any differences you feel in your body.
And also take a moment to become aware of how you feel in this moment.
Notice any emotions or sensations in your heart space or the rest of your body.
And to gently hold it with your awareness.
To witness it.
To recognize it.
Without necessarily having to change it.
Knowing it's safe to be with yourself right now.
And then you can allow yourself to start breathing more deeply through your heart space.
And with each breath in,
You feel your heart space expand.
And with every exhale you feel your body relax even more.
Breathing in,
Allowing the energy of your heart to expand.
Feeling that energy flow all the way throughout the rest of your body.
Gently softening any resistance that might be there.
To become aware of any fear that is present in your body.
And to gently send your awareness to that place in your body.
Allowing that fear to be held with love.
Knowing that you don't have to get rid of fear or tension or any other emotions.
And that it can be safely held by the energy of your heart.
Helping to feel the love and presence that is always accessible within you.
And you can allow the energy of your heart to sustain,
To spread all the way throughout your body.
And if your body gently wants to move,
Allow it to move.
You can feel it wiggling its way into every corner.
All the way from up to the crown of your head,
All the way down your fingertips.
And then again moving over your chest,
Your back,
Your hips,
All the way down the tip of your toes.
Allowing yourself to soak and deeply breathe into the energy of your heart.
And then I invite you to spread this energy of your heart even further all the way around your body.
It almost feels like you're cocooning your body.
And you can imagine it to be a bright light or color that is spreading all around.
Where you can just feel or sense it,
Its warmth or its tingling sensations.
Spread all the way around you.
And then you can allow yourself to spread this energy even further all the way out to the room,
The space that you're in.
Allow the energy of your heart to spread all the way throughout your environment.
And also to notice and to become aware of how expensive,
How great and limitless the energy of your heart really is.
To really allow yourself to feel and experience it.
And once the space around you is filled with that loving energy,
You can expand it even further all the way throughout the house,
The neighborhood,
Or the place that you're in.
Spreading it further even throughout the city or the countryside,
Or the place in nature that you're in.
And going even beyond that,
Throughout the country,
The state,
Further and further.
Becoming aware of the network of all these hearts that are interconnected.
All beating at the same time,
Maybe at different rhythms.
But to become aware of all the different hearts near and further from you are beating.
And then you can allow your awareness and your heart to expand even further all the way throughout the continent that you're on.
Spreading even further until your heart space is completely connected and covers the entire earth.
Allowing yourself to reconnect and to become a part of this interconnected field.
And sometimes we can lose this awareness and feel separate.
And now is a beautiful moment to remember.
To remember how connected you really are.
How connected we really are.
And then again you can allow yourself to breathe deeply.
Taking a deep breath in and becoming aware that you're not alone breathing.
You're breathing with so many others at this moment.
Together taking a deep breath in and out.
Slowly witnessing and remembering.
How we are connected through the breath,
Through the air we breathe.
And I'm going to give you a moment so you can just allow yourself to breathe and to feel how interconnected you are.
Connected to all those who are breathing right now on this planet.
And also connected to all of those who came before you and who are yet to come to this planet.
Awakening the truth that the heart and the breath together have the power to connect all.
Allowing your body to remember it's safe to be here.
It's safe to breathe.
As long as I breathe I am alive.
And from the day I was born I have the right to thrive.
Now we're going to take a deep breath in and out together and then we're going to come back into the body again and into your individual perspective.
Taking a deep breath in,
Feeling your lungs as much as you can,
Expanding,
Expanding and then a long exhale,
A release,
A letting go.
Allowing yourself to re-enter your body.
Feeling your body.
And also allowing that bigger,
That greater perspective of your interconnectivity to enter your body.
So allow that deep truth to enter every single cell so you can remember your love and you're always connected.
And there's nothing you have to do to earn it or to be worthy of it.
It's natural.
It's who you are.
And I invite you to become aware of how your body feels sitting or laying down in a room that you're in.
To become aware of your own energy and also of the energy of the space around you.
Becoming aware that you can hold both perspectives,
The perspective of your environment that you're connected to and the perspective of yourself.
Because you're a unique individual expression and at the same time you're a part of everything around you.
You're part of the whole.
And you're also physically embodied.
And you can allow these truths to come together and to integrate within your body.
And to know whenever you start to feel separate again or become overwhelmed by fear or stress that you can always re-access the love within your heart and allow your nervous system to calm down.
To remind yourself you're safe and you're connected in every moment simply through the breath and through every heartbeat.
And before we close off this meditation we're just going to take a moment to thank the heart,
The body,
The mind and also the earth for everything it gives to us.
Everything it does for us.
And how all these different aspects of life,
We can allow them to come together,
To co-exist in harmony.
And to know and to feel deep in your heart that it's possible because you felt it.
And you can feel it in every moment when you bring your awareness into it.
So now we're going to take three deep breaths together to close off this meditation.
And then after the third breath you can just gently allow yourself to re-enter the room.
So taking a deep breath in and out.
Taking a deep breath in allowing yourself to sigh or make a sound on the exhale and out.
And one more deep breath in and out.
And when you feel ready you can gently open your eyes.
