Release the day and prepare to go to sleep. Just like how we prepare ourselves go out into the world when we wake up in the morning, going into the sleep world at night is just like that. It requires preparation, a ritual of letting go of harsh thoughts and feelings. Cleansing ourselves and being honest about our experiences that we may have had that day.

Thank you for joining this night time practice of meditation.

Let's offer our gratitude for this day,

Gratitude for the experiences.

Even if it has been a challenging day,

Know there is something to be gained from every experience.

Let's prepare to welcome the night for sleep that is rejuvenating and healing.

Acknowledge that it is the end of the day that I have done my best today and know there is another promising day ahead.

Get ready to settle into this night.

Lie down on your back,

Close your eyes and take a few seconds here.

Bring awareness to what you may have absorbed into your mind and heart,

Absorbed emotions and thoughts of your own or others that is not serving you.

Release them from the body,

Mind and heart.

Bless the space between you and anyone that you may have had difficult relations with today.

Let that blessing and acknowledgement fill you with ease.

Begin with a deep breath in and exhale out through the mouth.

Begin to breathe deeply in and exhale out.

Reach out to all areas in the body with the breath.

Breathe in and exhale to release.

Bring your awareness to the third eye or space between the brow line.

Open into this space,

Breathe in and exhale out.

Allowing that softness to move into your eyes and jaw.

Drop into your heart space,

Filling into the front and back of your heart space.

Take a deep breath in and exhale out through the mouth.

Allowing that softness from the heart space to the shoulders and arms.

Bring the awareness to your belly.

Take a deep breath in and exhale it out.

And letting that awareness reach all the way down to the legs.

Continue to release any heavy emotions or stress with each passing breath.

With each passing breath,

The body and the mind becomes lighter,

Lighter in being.

Through the waves of the breath,

Welcome this nighttime.

Time that helps us to unwind and relax.

Through the waves of the breath,

Appreciate this moment.

Stay here with full awareness of your being.

The gentleness of your presence.

As you lie here with ease.

As you continue to surrender into this blissful night.

Gratitude surfaces from your heart.

Gratitude for this day.

Gratitude for the experiences.

Gratitude for family,

Friends and those that I met today.

Gratitude for the opportunities.

Gratitude for all that I have.

Gratitude for this life.

Embrace this gratitude.

Embrace this night.

Let this night bring a much needed healing and peace.

Be willing to let go and surrender.

Surrender to the peace within and around.

Let me bestow upon you this bounty of faithfulness,

O

Thank you for offering this calming meditation. I appreciated the suggestion to release anything or anyone who has hurt us see what lessons might be learned. I realized my fatherโ€™s hurtful comment could be interpreted as a suggestion to take care of myself in a different way. I also appreciated the listing of different people in my life that I am grateful for. Nice to have that focus as I settle down to sleep. Blessings
