Hello,
My love.
Welcome.
Welcome to the Sacred Series.
Today we're going to discuss sacred selfish.
There is nothing more sacred than you.
What if you chose to put your own self-care before anything else to make yourself top of the list,
Number one priority?
How would your life change if you made this a habit or a ritual every single day?
When it comes to our health and our well-being,
We have to be a little selfish.
As a recovering people pleaser,
I totally understand the struggle with the word selfish because it seems,
Well,
It seems so negative.
But that's what we've been taught.
What if it's not negative at all?
What if we have been fed a lie around the topic of selfishness?
Making the choice to be selfish,
A sacred choice,
Changes the whole definition of the word selfish.
It redefines the word selfish and changes the meaning to a healthy selfish.
It's a state of being.
It's a state of being.
One thing I know for sure is that taking care of you is 100% your responsibility.
Adopting a healthy selfish mindset is a beautiful practice that deepens your life values and your self-love.
One thing that has served me is my morning ritual to make serving myself first sacred in my life.
Every morning as I awake,
Before I pick up my phone or take care of anything else or anyone else,
I sit in stillness alone with my coffee.
Some mornings I may journal,
I may read,
Or I may even listen to music.
I simply do what feels good and right for myself first thing in the morning every day by allowing myself 30 minutes of uninterrupted space.
Sally space.
Starting the day by sitting and being with your authentic self without the influence of social media and the rest of the world is a total game changer.
You see the second you pick up that phone,
You start to lose your connection with yourself first thing in the morning.
Social media,
Emails,
People pulling at you,
The comparison game,
The urgency to act and show up begins to pull you away from your organic self.
Mornings are sacred.
In the morning you awaken and you are you before the world has changed you.
So give yourself some sacred space to just be,
To practice the being,
The art of authenticity.
When we start the day by nourishing ourselves first we show up authentically in the world and you use your gifts of service with deeper purpose from this space.
And then this begins to plant the seeds that help us continue to make healthy choices and remain in alignment with our sacred self throughout the rest of the day.
A healthy no is a sacred selfish act.
Saying no to what doesn't feel good creates more space for saying yes to the things that do feel good.
And I know it's hard to say no to people when they're pulling at you or they're wanting from you.
But they will learn to respect your no.
You will teach them through your no.
Honor yourself.
It will give you strength and courage and build your character in amazing ways that leave you feeling fulfilled.
I believe that when we choose to look after ourselves,
When we choose to love ourselves,
We're saying yes to every part of ourselves.
We're saying yes to our body,
Our well being.
You're saying yes to your spirit,
Your soul.
You're saying yes to your dreams,
To your desires and to all of life.
Every single person benefits when you are self full.
All of our relationships improve when we view ourselves as being sacred and worthy.
Remember this,
The ways in which we love ourselves teaches others how to love us.
Sacred selfish is self love.
Close your eyes.
Take a big breath into the center of your heart because you are deserving.
And as you exhale,
Slowly feel your rib cage hugging that love into you.
Take another breath.
You have time.
Feel up on love,
Presence.
And as you exhale,
Surrender anything around you that is not you.
One more breath.
Breathe into the center of your heart and fill up on selfish,
Sacred self love.
And as you exhale,
You send that loving attention to every single cell in your body,
Letting all parts of you know that I've got you.
Feel good.
Before you open your eyes,
Take a moment and give yourself a loving compliment.
Announce one thing in this moment that you truly love about yourself.
When you're ready,
You can open your eyes and you can proceed walking into the sacred as a beautiful,
Glowing light,
Lighting the way for others,
Showing them,
Teaching them what sacred selfish really looks like.
I love you.
I see you.
You are sacred.
Thank you.
