Hello,

My name is Sarah Salehi and today I'm honored to share with you a very powerful and ancient meditation taken from ancient art of Qigong called Healing Through Sounds.

In this meditation we will be exploring whispered sounds for the emotional frequency of the organs as well as vocalized sounds for the physical organs.

The idea or philosophy behind this meditation is that sometimes physical problems can manifest in the form of emotional disharmony and when we vocalize through sound we find a channel to explore kind of letting go and turning our attention into the body in a way of,

You know,

Paying attention to our organs.

It's a powerful tool to have in your tool belt if you'd like to explore,

You know,

Self-regulation through sounds.

So this practice of Qigong is also the sister science to traditional Chinese medicine so traditional Chinese medicine is a 4,

000 plus years of different experiments and studies done in the energetic body where we realize that the human body actually is made up of different layers of energy and each of the organs that we have are paired with other organs in this philosophy.

And so today we're going to be talking about the elements associated with the organs,

The color,

The emotions both positive and when we're in disharmony that in that organ and then the sound healing for each organ.

So wherever you are make sure you're sitting up tall.

Hopefully you're in a safe space that is grounding.

Maybe you have a,

You know,

Tradition where you're trying to meditate,

You light incense or set the mood for yourself.

So in any way that you get ready,

Do that before you commence this really short powerful sound healing meditation.

And take a really deep breath in and a big breath out.

So we start our journey at the lungs and in this science of traditional Chinese medicine the lungs are what we call the commander of Qi.

Qi of course being this complex concept that's sometimes translated as the energy body.

And the lungs being the first place where energy enters the body through breath which we just experienced.

The element that's associated with the lungs is metal.

The color is purely white.

When our lungs are in disharmony it is said that sadness and depression can be experienced.

Whereas when we are in harmony we're more,

We have a tendency to be more courageous and inspired.

In this practice the sound that's associated with the emotions of the lung is like a soft,

Like a hiss of a snake or you can even imagine an air leak.

And the sound that's associated with the physical organ,

So if we're talking about the vibration of the physical lungs,

Then it's a little bit more potent of a sound and it's more like a bee,

Like a zzzz.

You can almost feel the vibration of the zzzz going all the way down into the lungs.

So sit up tall and take a deep breath in.

On your exhale create the soft ssss.

Take a deep breath in.

Zzzz.

At any point you can pause this recording so that you can repeat these sounds a few times for a few breaths.

As with anything the more you practice these sounds the more your body learns that this is a way of releasing.

That when you carve out the time to create these vibrations it's you paying attention to yourself.

It is a tool from your toolbox of resilience for self-regulation and that goes a long way.

So the more you practice it the more habitual it will become and possibly that will correlate with you potentially feeling better when you're practicing these sounds.

So that's for the lungs.

Next we're going to move to the kidneys.

The kidneys are a pretty big deal in traditional Chinese medicine because basically what we call essence or our you know life force is stored in the kidneys and it's not surprising that the element associated with the kidneys would be water.

You know they manage our water filtration system and set our blood pressure and the color associated is blue.

It is said that when the kidneys are in disharmony we as humans feel insecure and this deep fear whereas when we're in harmony then we have an experience of inner peace and tranquility.

The healing sounds for the emotions associated with the kidneys is like winds moving through trees.

Very soft and the organ sound is a little bit more emphasized on the E sound like you're saying tree.

Take a deep breath in.

Tree While you're going through this healing meditation while using your voice and your sounds consider adding some physical movement to your body.

So when you're making the sound lean forward slightly like you're almost slouching and that accentuates your back especially your low to mid back which is where your kidneys the physical organ is located just below your lower ribs tucked into your low back and by accentuating your back and stretching the kidneys it's as if you're physically also bringing the organ into your sound healing so it's like a double you know kind of killing two birds with one stone.

Next we've got the liver and you know we know the liver is one of the most magnificent filtration systems in the known universe at least that's what I'd like to think about our livers associated with the element of wood which is this like energy-yielding rich in blood rich in vibration the color is forest green.

When the liver is in disharmony the associated emotions are anger and frustration volatile emotions and when in harmony the human is generous and is exuding kindness and I find it really kind of you know serendipitous that the healing sound for the emotion of the liver is the sound shh.

So you can almost imagine when you're angry or frustrated and you need a moment to calm and quiet yourself that you would use the sound like be quiet shh.

As we've seen with the previous two organs the sound associated the frequency of sound associated with the actual organ is a little bit more emphasis on the you sound so we would take that shh and add a you to the end making it the word shh.

So the physical organ the liver is located in the right upper quadrant of your belly just below your right lower ribs and so to add a little bit of the physical sensation bringing the actual organ into the meditation you could in a seated or a standing posture reach your right arm up and bend towards the left side a lateral bend which will accentuate your right side stretching your liver organ.

As you take your right arm up you can also place your left hand physically on top of your liver located in the right upper quadrant of your tummy just below your right rib cage.

We're almost halfway through this meditation this would be a good time to take a break or maybe go back and repeat the first three sounds just so you get acquainted better with what each of those organs have to offer.

We're moving on from the liver to the heart.

The heart being associated with the element fire and the color red.

When in disharmony it is associated with emotions such as eastiness,

Impatience and in its extreme even hatred.

When in harmony we tend to exude joy happiness and love from our heart.

The healing sound associated with the emotion is the very soft sound of HA.

When we want to bring the organ into harmony the sound healing is a bit more emphasis on the A sound in the HA.

So let's try that together.

Take a really deep breath in.

It's interesting to know that traditional Chinese medicine and Qigong are not the only areas where the sound H is associated with the physical heart in the tradition of yoga or Ayurveda the sound frequencies or the frequencies associated with the different chakras these energy centers in the spine are also the similar to what we just experienced and that that tradition has the word H-U-M hum for the heart so it's really interesting to know that our ancestors discovered that the heart center which is why probably the word heart starts with the letter H is associated with this H sound the HA sound like a relief something lifted from the chest.

It is recommended to repeat this sound you know three four five six times as many times as is soothing for your system.

We're moving on to the spleen and you know the spleen is a really rich in blood organ and it's associated with our faculties our mental faculties and thoughts so the emotion and when we're in our spleen is in disharmony the emotion that we're experiencing is worry and that can be either caused or it can lead to tensiveness or this excess in thinking and now just as I'm saying this if you you know put two and two together we in our modern world live in a very spleen disharmony kind of way or in cultures that put too much emphasis on doing and less on being and the spleen is a really Yin hungry organ so know that even as you're going through this entire meditation for sound healing and you're giving yourself time in this state of being as opposed to like you know accomplishing things and doing and overthinking you are giving your spleen respite and so when your spleen is in harmony there is this acute mental clarity you're in the flow you're centered you're grounded like when I'm trying to record these meditations for me I need to be in a spleen harmonious state not surprising the element associated with the spleen is earth so grounding by putting your feet in the earth when you're overthinking the color associated is yellow and the healing sound for the emotions is this kind of like sound of amazement or like whereas for the organ it's a little bit more emphasis and it's like a w-h-u emphasis on the letter you like a that tickled my throat so the spleen is almost physically located on the opposite side of the liver you can locate your spleen by placing your left hand just below your left lower ribs towards the left outer quadrant of the body and you can feel that you know this area can be tender or tight so you want to kind of accentuate it and taking your left arm up and leaning over to the right side and maybe even placing your right hand on the physical organ located on the top left quadrant of your tummy giving your organs love by placing your hands on the physical areas where they're located is yet another powerful tool that will help facilitate your parasympathetic nervous system but the use of the hands on the body will be a really good addition just to calm your nervous system down lastly in traditional Chinese medicine the physical body is divided into three sections which is called the triple energizer or a triple warmer and the head is one area like the upper part which is associated with thinking and thought and consciousness the organs around the heart lungs pericardium are associated with our emotional body and anything below the diaphragm which is kind of like the lower abdomen is considered the physical body so we're all of our you know blood-rich organs are living the color associated with a triple warmer which is the container of all the other organs is a rich violet when we are stressed out it means that our container is in a state of this harmony and when we feel internal harmony when everything else is kind of working together or flowing we're in our zone of genius then it is said that the triple warmer is in complete harmony the healing sound or the the sound that's affiliated with the emotion it's kind of like a the sound of air leaking so and for the sound that supports all of the organs vibrating the entire torso it's a little bit more emphasis on the e sound so generally this sound is used more frequently than all the other sounds because it's great for a general sense of release and cleansing the body and mind as a whole if you imagine we're addressing the entire container and so I hope that this sound frequency has meditation has been useful for you my suggestion would be after each of the organs pause the recording make the sounds repeatedly a few times and then you'll see as your day goes by you might want to incorporate it into your day at your desk while you're driving sound frequency is a powerful way to bring the body back into harmony and addressing each of the organs which have different frequencies associated with them will not only get you thinking more about your internal systems and all of the different little moving parts that are helping you work but it will also ground your body and facilitate your parasympathetic nervous system from my heart to yours thank you namaste
