Run through the basics,

You all know what it is,

But we'll go through them again and again and again until you know it all in itself.

Don't teach you anything here and we don't tell you anything.

That's very important.

When you realize what we're pointing to,

You realize that nobody can ever teach you anything or tell you anything because purely and simply what we talk about is non-duality,

One without a second.

If it's one without a second,

You are already that.

If you are already that,

Who can teach you and tell you if that-ness itself,

Which is sat-chit-and-and-do,

Existence,

Consciousness,

Being,

Knowing,

Loving to be,

Or the basic stillness and silence,

Emptiness in which everything appears in,

If everything is that,

You and I and everything else must be patterned shapes and forms that are appearing in that.

And though we've taken ourselves to believe we separate entities,

Individuals,

When you investigate you'll see it's not so.

Anything here we point to,

You'll see it's the base of all the ancient traditions.

Hinduism they call it,

Veda,

And veda trans-veda means non-duality.

And they try to describe non-duality by saying it's one without a second.

They put that description on it because it can't describe it.

They put that one without a second because even the idea of one implies there could be other than one.

So they cancel out that idea,

They say it's one without a second.

It means there is absolutely nothing whatsoever apart from that.

It is the one essence,

Patterning,

Shape,

And form,

And appearing,

And expressing as everything.

Like if you use that term God,

They say there is one God.

And then you'll kind of imply that there are other things apart from God.

But everything is that.

There is no separation or anything that can be apart from that.

Buddhism will tell you the same thing,

But they'll say it's non-conceptual,

Ever fresh presence awareness.

Add on to it justice,

Nothing else,

Pointing out this is all there is,

Is presence awareness.

Only one in this room is not present right now,

Or not aware.

You must realize that if I'm present and aware,

I must be that presence awareness.

Christianity and other traditions talk about God,

Truth,

Or reality.

So it's omnipresence,

Omnipotence,

Omniscience.

Not three things,

Three aspects of the one.

Omnipresence meaning total presence,

Total presence.

Omnipresence,

Total power.

Not mind power or thought power or your power or this power or a sign of power.

It's omnipotence,

One power,

Patterning,

Shaping,

Forming,

And expressing and appearing as everything.

Omniscience,

Total intelligence.

Just have a look around in this manifestation.

The planets,

The stars,

The galaxies,

The plants,

The birds,

The insects,

What do they imply?

It's a fuse.

With an innate intelligence,

The organs and blood and veins and everything in that body,

The mind,

The heart,

All that,

Implies it's a fuse with an innate intelligence.

And the omniscience means it's total intelligence.

So the problem is we've seen we got away from it.

We've lost sight of it.

We've taken all our ideas.

We are separate entities.

We are individuals.

We are persons.

That's why we say these things need to be investigated.

And down through the ages,

There's been people who have investigated.

And that's where the great traditions or religions started from what they've pointed to.

But people have added on to those religions and lost sight of the basic message.

What they've done is set the messenger up as saints,

Sages,

Sages,

And seers and worship the messenger and missed out on the message.

The messenger is just a vibrating pattern of energy like you and I and who is delivering all this.

But the message itself is the one essence,

What they call a vader or non-duality.

What we point out is there is absolutely no duality whatsoever in non-duality.

And yet we've taken ourselves on to be these separate individuals,

Persons,

Dualistic.

And that's understandable when you look at this manifestation and you'll see this manifestation is a dualistic manifestation.

And it couldn't be any other way.

Could there be day without night,

Silence without sound,

Movement without stillness,

Winter without summer?

There couldn't be.

So it's to appear and seemingly be so,

We've got to vibrate dualistically.

But I tell you,

It's transient.

It's not static.

It's constantly changing.

It's not time beyond.

And when we investigate time and see time itself is a mental concept,

There's no such thing as time when you look into it closely.

It's transient.

And have a look at that and see that body you believe yourself to be,

That's transient also.

You haven't got the same body you walked into this room with.

You might not realize it,

But right now in this moment there are cells dying.

Not one or two,

But thousands of them are dying right now and being replaced.

And you know you're not the same body you had last week or last year or 20 years ago.

It's changed and it's constantly changing.

So is the rest of the manifestation.

But we don't notice it.

We don't notice this earth spinning around the sun now so many miles per second or hour or whatever it is,

I don't know.

It's spinning around and at this moment it's facing this part we're sitting on is facing away from the sun.

So it's dark.

When it continues to spin around now,

It's still facing the other way and there'll be light again.

You think the earth knows anything about darkness or light?

Or the sun knows anything about darkness or light?

Some will know anything about darkness because the darkness recedes always and ever before as far as it shines,

Darkness on display.

You've taken on these set ideas and concepts and believed in them.

Well,

Have a look.

We ask you to investigate and see for yourself.

Are you this person?

You say the person is not reality.

It's not the actual.

It's not the real.

And where did that word person come from?

Doesn't it come from an ancient language,

Greek or Roman or Latin or whatever it was?

I don't know where it came from.

I don't know what some of it is,

We'll look it up and see.

Persona,

Meaning the mask.

We've got this mask of identity we've put upon ourselves.

The mask of concepts and words.

We've got a conceptual image of what we believe ourselves to be,

This persona.

I'm Bob,

I'm Australian,

A good fellow.

Not so good.

I've got low self-esteem,

I'm fearful,

I'm happy.

That persona is just a mask of concepts.

That's the energy of a leaf has gone into and made it seem really real.

As the Buddhist pointed out,

It is non-conceptual.

The great perfection is non-conceptual.

Non-conceptual awareness.

So without the concepts on it,

Where is that mask?

Where does that conceptual image go?

We cannot put any concept or label on this.

All these concepts are labels we put upon ourselves.

Mahavakya and the great mantra and the great word is I am that.

And innately we know that in our language.

What is the that we're talking about?

Just hear the word,

The word that and say why I'm that and now the word.

Anybody really grasp it and understood what you're talking about?

I'll go about that,

Which are three of the five factors in Hinduism.

Sat,

Chit,

And andha,

Nama,

Rupa.

Sat is existence,

Chit is consciousness,

And ananda is bliss.

Existence consciousness bliss.

Another way of being,

Knowing,

And loving to be.

Anyone in this room who's not existing right now,

You reckon,

No,

I'm existing.

Anyone who is not conscious right now,

No,

You may not be conscious.

Anyone who's not happy to be,

You may know.

I like to be,

I enjoy to be,

I'm happy to be right now.

So you really are,

You must be that.

Existence consciousness bliss.

But you haven't realized it.

Haven't recognized it,

You've put the soap and form on and take the soap and form to the roof.

And we know that in our language,

Is I am that.

Innately we know that.

Of course,

Don't we say that is a chair?

That is a carpet?

That is Robin?

That is Kat?

That is me?

That is you?

That's the mirror?

It's all that if we put labels or words on.

The names and forms.

The nama,

Rupa,

The name and form.

The nama,

Rupa,

The name and form is illusion.

It's mire.

It doesn't exist.

Because you can't negate your existence,

You can't negate your consciousness.

And that's what we need to investigate.

See if you are this person,

This persona.

You are this body,

Mind,

Entity.

If you are the separate,

Have a look at this body again.

We think we are separate.

Or investigate this body.

Have a look.

What?

Can you find a point in that body?

You can say this is what I am.

This is where it starts from.

This is where it all exists,

Or falls from.

Tell me if you can,

Because I can't,

Find any static body.

When you investigate what's this body made up of?

You see the body is made up of elements.

Made up of earth,

Fire,

Water,

Space.

Just the same as the elements around you.

Well,

If you think you're separate,

Stop reading.

Separate yourself from that air.

See how long you've passed.

Take the water out of your body,

The other amyloid.

Your body is 80% water.

You can soon die of thirst if you didn't get enough water.

So you can't separate yourself from that amyloid.

Take the fire,

The body temperature.

You can soon get hypothermia and die without the body temperature.

Get off the earth,

Get out of space.

When you investigate,

Have a little bit of a look,

You'll see you can't separate yourself from those elements at all.

And what are those elements?

They can all be broken down into subatomic particles and into pure energy.

You realize from the body,

There's nothing but a vibrating pattern of energy.

And so is the manifestation,

Is a vibrating pattern of energy.

Well,

Have a look at this thing you call mind.

Again,

Just as long as you say my body,

You say my coat,

My car,

My house,

You know you're not the coat,

The car,

Or the house.

You say my mind.

You realize you're not the body,

The coat,

Coat,

Car,

Or house.

You can't be the mind either.

Whose body or whose mind is it?

Say mind.

What's this mind?

Have a look at mind.

Is there such a thing as mind?

If you believe you are the mind.

Show me a thing called mind.

What do you say mind is?

Well,

You realize you can't show me anything substantial there.

You call mind apart from thought or thinking.

Thinking is what we call mind.

And if you were,

As you believe yourself to be,

This mind,

You'd be a particular thought.

And which thought would you be?

And you realize that sense of presence,

Which is with you right now,

And knowing that you are translates through the mind as the thought I am.

That's the primary thought.

I am.

But if you were the mind,

You'd be that thought.

And if you were that thought,

You'd be frightened to lose sight of it and possibly to finish it.

Yet you're glad to give it up every night when you go to sleep.

It's not very throughout the day when you think of other things.

You realize that you can't be that particular thought.

And what is thought after all?

Well,

Investigate a little bit further.

You see at the subtle level when there's silent thinking going on,

There's a subtle vibration going on,

And that you call the mind.

Anyway,

Subtle vibration going on,

Subtle movement.

And when it comes out of the words,

Like these words are now,

What are words?

These are words,

What are words?

They're sounds.

And what is a sound?

A sound is a vibration.

And a vibration is a pattern of energy.

So the mind,

The body,

The mind of manifestation is all broken down into vibrating patterns of energy.

What they call Shakti,

Or intelligence energy,

Vibrating pattern of energy.

Shiva Shakti.

Shiva,

The static aspect,

Or the stillness and the silence in which everything appears.

And Shakti,

The dynamic.

Shakti vibrates,

And they put it as a female aspect.

Shakti vibrates,

And the world appears.

And they call this world the dance of fear.

It dances in all the different patterns,

Shapes,

And forms.

But they don't last.

They're constantly transient,

Constantly changing.

Now the world seems real and solid.

And we've taken the beat,

So,

And taken ourselves to be separate entities and individuals in this world.

And we suffer accordingly because of that.

Now you're breaking this body of mine down.

What about the manifestation?

And you'll see the manifestation is a dualistic patterning shape of the following.

It couldn't be any other way.

It couldn't be day without night.

Silence without sound,

Without stillness.

And the ancients will tell you that.

That this manifestation is maya.

It's illusion.

It's only seemingly so.

And they'll tell you it is a phenomenal manifestation.

A manifestation made up of phenomena.

Grab your dictionary and have a look at the word phenomena.

And the definition of phenomena is that which appears to be.

It's only appearing to be so.

Like a dream image.

Like the sea appears to be blue and the water appears in the mirror.

It's not so.

It appears to be so,

But it's not real.

And it's a dualistic manifestation.

It's vibrating dualistic.

There couldn't be one without the other.

And these are things we need to look at.

And the basic screen on which it all appears is that stillness,

Silence,

Or emptiness that all appears on that.

You've got a mirror behind you.

Have a look in the mirror.

When you look in that mirror,

You'll see it's full of reflections.

You can't say those reflections are not there.

Put your hand into that mirror and try and grab a reflection.

All you'll do is grab the mirror.

You can't grab a reflection.

Although they appear to be so,

You can't say they are.

And if you've investigated a little bit,

You said there couldn't be a reflection in the mirror if there wasn't that reflecting surface for it to appear on.

For that screen for it to appear on.

The same with this manifestation.

It wasn't a screen of emptiness,

Silence,

And stillness.

There couldn't be any pattern,

Shapes,

And forms appear in it whatsoever.

And they are vibrating in that innate mirror mirror is a poor analogy because the mirror needs something outside of itself to reflect in it.

This basic space of awareness,

This is almost everything is the content or appears,

Pattern,

Shapes,

And forms,

And vibrates in it from its innate energy,

Innate vibrational movement,

Which vibrates into different shapes and forms.

And we have this world view,

View,

And everything in it.

You take yourself to be this body mind,

And we pointed out that the body mind is a fiction.

Well,

Have a look at that.

Ask yourself,

When did you begin?

Those of you who have been here before will know because you've looked at it.

But most of you are safe,

Haven't been here before.

You'll say,

Well,

I began at birth.

If you began at birth,

Can you remember your birth?

Have a look at that.

When did you begin at birth?

How do you know?

Can you remember your birth?

You're like,

No,

I can't remember my birth.

You don't remember it.

It took you about two,

Two and a half years old when it first began reading about it.

So how can you say you began?

You've seen through other people and other births,

Things have happened.

But innately,

Of your own true self,

You don't remember your birth,

And you can't remember it.

Well,

Go back and have a look at that and say,

When did you begin?

Go back as far as your father and your mother.

You can go back as far as you like if you'd like to investigate it.

That animating intelligence,

Innate intelligence energy,

That very pattern shape and form,

That pattern you called your father,

Enabled in that pattern,

A little microscopic particle,

You can't see what you make it.

I called a sperm to form.

That sperm was suffused with innate intelligence.

The same animating life essence,

The pattern shape and form,

You know,

Through the prana,

Through the breath,

And the essence of the food eaten,

Kept that form,

Animating that form,

Enabled another microscopic particle called an egg,

Or an ovum to form in that pattern.

Now,

That ovum was suffused with intelligence.

It knew what to do.

It attached itself to all the uterus.

It wasn't just a cell floating around willy-nilly.

It attached itself to all the uterus.

And the sperm knew what to do.

It wasn't just a blob of energy floating around.

It swam to the ovum,

Put it under a microscope,

And you see it as a capacity of swimming.

And it knew where to swim to and what to do to penetrate the ovum.

That knowing what to do when those two came together,

That cell doubled and doubled again,

And the genes that were in that,

The innate intelligence in those two little patterns,

It wasn't seen to be anything in a microscopic,

But there was an innate intelligence there,

The genes,

Or whatever you like to call it,

That doubled that cell,

Doubled it again and again,

And the little embryo,

The little face began to form.

What were you doing about it then as a separate entity,

As an individual?

Well,

You didn't say,

Well,

I better start going to hand or heart or lungs or brain or eyes.

You didn't know anything about it at all.

The innate intelligence knew what was necessary and formed that brain,

That heart,

That lungs,

The veins,

The organs,

And all the rest of it.

What were you doing about it as an entity?

Nothing.

Nothing whatsoever.

You couldn't do anything about it.

And you're wrong,

And it's grown you and lived you and expressed you ever since.

And we've lost sight of that.

We've lost sight of that and taken the belief that we are this entity,

We are this individual,

We are this person.

We've lost sight of our true nature,

Which is the same intelligence that's been so informing and functioning this manifestation and everything in it.

We've lost sight of our natural true nature and taken on the belief we are this separate entity,

This individual,

We are this person.

No wonder we suffer.

No wonder we're unhappy,

Depressed,

Guilty,

Fearful,

Anxious,

Angry,

And deaf.

We've taken ourselves to believe separately as individuals.

How did that come about?

Well,

At the age of two,

Two and a half,

And you watch a little baby of all its age,

And you'll see it's functioning naturally,

Spontaneously,

And evidently.

It's seeing,

It's hearing,

Tasting,

Touching,

Smelling,

Breathing and heart beating,

All the functioning is going on.

It hasn't got any words at that stage.

It's functioning with a natural law of attraction.

If it likes something,

It doesn't like it,

It'll push it away.

If it's hungry,

It'll cry.

If it's happy,

It'll gurgle.

It's functioning naturally,

Spontaneously.

It doesn't learn any words.

So it's living,

Knowing what to do.

It's new to take the first breath when it came out of the womb.

It's new to pass not on a nipple to suckle.

Those are neat things that are going on,

Quite natural.

At about two,

Two and a half,

The capacity of reading develops.

And that's the capacity these human forms have in them,

And this is more developed than what it is in other animals,

Birds and insects.

We have the capacity of reading.

But other animals,

Birds and insects,

Other capacities more developed than our capacity of reading is.

Like a bird,

For instance,

Has a capacity of eyesight.

It's much more developed than our eyesight is.

And there's a capacity of flying.

We can't do that naturally.

But through the capacity of reasoning,

We've learned to build ourselves eyeglasses,

Binoculars and telescopes if our eyes start to fail,

Kites,

Helicopters,

Balloons,

And things like that that enable us to fly.

So the capacity of reading is a very useful capacity.

The dog has a capacity of smelling,

A sense of smell.

It can sniff out drugs and all sorts of things like that.

Much more developed than what our capacity is.

Chameleons and animals like that can change color.

Butterflies and moths and things like that can come through crystals,

Little maggots and worms and grow with metabolic all flies.

The wondrous ways of all these things,

The tiger and leopards grow stripes in their fur and spots in their fur.

They think they set out to do that.

Or does innate intelligence know that the stripes and the spots will get into the natural camouflage and make them benefit of us?

Because that innate intelligence,

And I mean innate,

It's suffusing every particle,

Is doing everything.

It's growing you,

Causing the reason to have you,

And all the rest of this manifests out.

And you are that.

We've taken the belief in ourselves that we are in a separate entity and shut ourselves off from the sunlight of that spirit and limited ourselves in this idea of being here and there.

Can't do much with I or me.

What happens?

We start to learn words from our parents.

We learn these words,

I and me.

Look at your mind and see our emotions.

See,

That was a very useful instance.

It's very mechanical in its operation.

Look at your mind and see it's always functioning in the interrelated opposites.

If you're not in the past,

Which is memory,

It'll be in the future or somewhere within that range between past and future,

Which is anticipation and imagination.

Within that range,

It'll either be good or bad or somewhere within that range,

It'll be happy or sad,

Positive or negative,

Loving or hating.

Have a look at it and see.

Angry or at peace.

Have a look at your mind and see if it functions any other way.

And realize the boundary you put upon it on the words we've made.

Up until that stage,

A child hasn't got any words.

You and I had no words until we reached that stage of about two,

Two and a half,

And the reading's done.

And understand from that every word you have ever learned,

Ever spoken or ever likely to speak,

Has been learned,

Been picked up along the way.

You weren't born with any words.

None of us were really born with any words.

We've learned them,

Acquired them.

And when you look into this word,

Look into it a little bit differently,

You'll see the word's never the thing.

The word's never the thing at all.

Take the word water.

Try and drink the word.

Wash yourself in the word.

Swim in the word.

See if you can drown in the word.

Take the word fire.

See if it burns your mouth if you speak it.

See if you can cook with it.

See if you can eat yourself with it.

What's this word I or me?

What can you do with that?

You can't do anything at all with it,

But what we do to it,

We add on to it events,

Experiences and conditionings,

Things that have happened to us.

Previously we added all of this I to it.

Little chirps,

Those words like I and me from his parents flustering around him.

I'm Johnny.

They tell me I'm little Johnny.

I'm a good little boy.

I'm not so good.

I'm unhappy.

I'm fearful.

I'm anxious.

They tell me these things.

My little child looks out there and he's written,

That doesn't fit I or little Johnny.

And now we're in a reason that's not I or that's not me.

And that's when the sense of separation first comes upon us when we realize.

This I we believe ourselves to be is not the totality.

It's the separate as they're relating to.

When we see something is not I or not me,

We feel insecure and vulnerable,

Especially as a little child.

You're not sure what it is.

And that's when our sense of separation first comes upon us.

And from then on we're looking to become complete and whole,

Not realizing we were never separate in the first place.

A little child likes a warm,

Loving family.

If you've got a warm,

Loving family,

He's much more secure.

That's fearful and unhappy.

What happens in the old age?

Wouldn't families form into tribes?

The bigger and stronger my tribe,

The more secure I'm going to be.

And not as vulnerable.

And isn't it going on to this day instead of forming into tribes now?

We form into nations.

And nations go to war with nations because they're never sure what the nation next door is going to do.

If I've got the oil,

They won't want to take it from me.

If I've got the bomb,

They won't want to get that.

Or in companies at work,

We're always trying to take something from each other because we're insecure and vulnerable if we think they've got something we want.

And see where all our troubles and problems come from.

Not realizing we're always a totality,

Always have been.

We've now taken on this separate energy.

You can't do much with I or me,

So what we had to do with events,

Experiences,

And conditioning,

I wrote it onto it.

And those events,

Experiences,

And conditioning are based on past memories,

Past conditioning,

Which are now dead.

So we're relating constantly to a dead image.

No wonder we can't keep up with life.

I'm Australian.

I'm not so good.

I've got no self-esteem.

I'm fearful.

I was abused and depressed.

All these concepts are added onto this I thought based on past events and given us some reality.

And every thing becomes relative to that image.

All our problems are problems of relationship.

All relative to this conceptual image.

Now this image that I've got about myself,

A dead image,

Is what we call the reference point,

The self-set,

Or the ego.

And that's all the ego is,

A conceptual image made up of past events,

Conditions,

And experiences.

And you're reading the scriptures that ego is your problem.

All our problems come from this belief in ego.

And they tell you you've got to stamp on this ego.

You've got to kill it.

You've got to destroy it.

Stamp.

Do whatever you can.

Not realizing but trying to do anything at all with it would be the ego.

Trying to do something with the ego.

That's why it doesn't work.

It doesn't happen.

What you need to look at and see what the agent tells us and look into it further that the ego is never fiction.

It never existed at all.

It's only a conceptual image we've taken on to the time we started reading about 2,

2 and a half.

But it hasn't got any substance or any independent nature.

And so recognizing that,

You'll be free of it.

And you look at it.

You realize this ego is the cause of all your problems because it's only me that can be anxious.

Only me that can be unhappy.

Only me that can be fearful.

Angry,

Fearful,

Unhappy,

Depressed.

Me is the cause of all my psychological suffering,

My fear,

My anger,

My depression,

My anger.

They're the effects of the cause me.

That's all the so-called karma is.

You've got karma in so-called spiritual circles.

Karma is cause and effect.

What happened if you look at it and ask yourself the question?

Can there be a cause?

Can there be an effect if it's not related to a cause?

If I can find out what it means to me and see there's no cause there that we as a vision.

What's going to happen to the effect of not related to a cause?

Nowhere to fix that.

And then look at that.

And you see there's no thought fixated in your head unless you're related to a cause of me.

Someone I might hang around for a while because I keep relating to them.

Or if you're used to those sorts.

They've moved on wherever last week's was,

Last year's was.

They all move on.

Just the same as look out there in the sky.

Take the analogy of the sky.

And then look at the sun.

The sun is constantly shining.

You go outside on a cloudy day,

Would you say the sun is not in the sky?

No.

You know the sun doesn't leave the sky.

But it's seemingly obscured by clouds.

And you know the clouds don't last forever.

There's no clouds just on the surface of the sun.

It moves away.

The sun shines in its fullness.

And when you investigate that and ask yourself what forms the clouds,

You realize the sun itself forms the clouds.

Now the vastness of the sun is so huge it doesn't know what a cloud is.

It's infinitesimal compared to the sun.

It's the same as we are infinitesimal to this pure intelligent energy.

So as these patterns,

When you know your reality,

You know.

When you have these patterns,

You're like less than the microbes on this molecular hand.

All the sun does is shine.

It shines in itself as self-shining.

Like the water stops,

We are self-shining here with fresh,

Non-compresents awareness.

Just there's nothing else.

Sun shines itself in that shining.

That's what it'll do.

It's radiant.

It's heated.

It evaporates water.

The water rises and when it rises,

It cools down a bit and condenses.

In that condensation,

It forms a cloud.

And that cloud obscures the sun.

What's the sun doing about it?

Nothing.

It just continues to shine.

And that shining won't cause a coolness or a wind to blow that'll blow the cloud away or bring it down as rain.

Or freeze it up and bring it down as hail or snow.

All the sun done is shine.

And these things happen because of that self-shining.

You have a fresh presence awareness of the sun.

Didn't I say the same thing working in this body,

Mind you,

Calling you?

Self-shining,

You have a fresh presence awareness of the air.

But in that self-shining,

This pattern stirs,

This activity stirs and forms thoughts.

Thoughts form,

Become seemingly solid and substantial,

And obscure the light of your true nature.

You get locked into that seeming blockage and take yourself to be this person that's suffering all these conditions.

Investigate and see if it's so.

Now ask yourself,

Look at this eye on me,

This ego.

Have a look at nature first and see that nature itself is a geodesic manifestation.

It couldn't be any other way.

But realize nature hasn't formed an ego.

So there's nothing to relate to.

So though the peers of officers are constantly fasting,

Day doesn't fight with night.

Silence is not in conflict with sound,

Movement is not in conflict with stillness,

Winter is not in conflict with summer.

They move on.

Each one moves on.

Well,

That's the conflict that goes on and we keep it there.

Something comes up and I like it.

How do you know?

Well,

I had this before.

The things we like,

We want to keep.

We don't want them to go.

So we cling to it.

No matter how much,

You know,

Not realizing they're transient as we quite a bit,

They change.

No matter how much you love them,

You're going to die.

You're going to move on.

You're going to change,

Or different ways,

Or disappear.

They'll certainly change.

Just the same as your body is changing right now.

Not the same body you walked in the room with.

We don't want the good things to go.

So what do we do?

We try to keep it there longer.

These loved ones are going to,

We try to keep it there by resisting it,

Stopping it from going.

And don't realize that any resistance you are in,

You are in conflict.

Resistance is conflict,

Purely and simply.

If you're resisting something,

You're in conflict mode.

And any conflict you are in makes your anxious fearful unhappy.

And that's another way for uneasiness is disease.

Anxiousness is disease.

So all your psychological suffering is a disease of uneasiness.

Resistance conflict and disease.

What happens if something comes up that I don't like?

We don't want to keep this one.

So instead of trying to cling to it,

We try to get,

Push it out.

We resist it again.

Conflict and disease.

See,

That's what's constantly going on in our minds.

Day in,

Day out,

All our lives,

We've been in this constant resistance,

Conflict,

And disease to some extent or the other.

Some of us are in trouble so much,

Others it might get overwhelming.

It's constantly going on.

And that's the cause of all your psychological problems.

We say here it doesn't have to be that way.

It can be if you want it to be,

But it doesn't have to be.

A little bit of investigation,

A little bit of looking and seeing for yourself,

And it will fall away.

It will dissolve.

We ask you to look along these lines if you're keen to,

If you're not,

It doesn't really matter.

Just see for yourself if this ego is a fiction or not.

Everybody is seeing right now,

And everybody is hearing right now.

Isn't that a fact?

What a trick question.

You're seeing and you're hearing.

When you woke up this morning,

Open your eyes,

Wasn't the seeing near immediately?

Didn't necessarily have to drive a little bit,

But a little bit of seeing was there.

The whole room was there.

And you realize the seeing was going on further out and you couldn't see through the walls.

You knew it was outside there.

True experience.

And the hearing was there.

If somebody had called you in loudly asleep,

The hearing would have heard it.

The hearing would have been there.

So the seeing and the hearing are happening.

You just think that the seeing and the hearing are changing.

You look at that and you realize the same seeing you got right now is the same seeing you had this morning when you woke up.

It's the same seeing you had yesterday,

Last week,

Last year.

It's always been the same seeing,

And the seeing hasn't changed.

But the content has.

It wasn't the content that happened when you woke up this morning in your bedroom or in your house,

And throughout the day it's changed.

Wasn't the content changed last week or last year?

The seeing hasn't changed,

But the content has.

Same with the hearing.

The hearing hasn't changed,

But the content has.

So the seeing and the hearing are happening.

That's just like this.

Does my eye tell me I see?

Well,

My eye is not saying,

Look at this,

But I'm going to look at that.

That's got to happen.

My eye is the instrument through which the seeing is happening.

And it's translated by the instrument,

The conceptual image I've got to have ourselves.

They're involved in Australian.

Now I think it has the capacity of seeing.

A conceptual image.

Based on past events and experiences,

The dead image of that thing has the capacity of seeing.

Translated by the thought,

I see.

It's no longer a pure seeing.

It's that conceptual image now I think that's the capacity of seeing.

The same with the hearing.

My ear is not saying,

Listen to this,

That's a good sound.

I like this sound,

Depending on the other one.

The ear can't say anything at all,

But it is the instrument through which the hearing is happening.

It's translated by the thought,

The conceptual image.

Me,

Mom,

The Australian,

The good fellow,

Thinks it has the capacity of hearing.

So you see how the see-go works.

This conceptual image now thinks it has some power.

Hang on some power,

It can see,

It can hear.

But ask yourself,

This can the thought I see actually see?

See for yourself what it's got to be.

Shut your eyes and look around the room where your eyes shut.

And see what you can see with the thought.

You know,

If you can't see anything at all with the thought.

Not what's in the room,

You can see things you're imagining.

But you can't,

The actual do-it-your-own-even,

The actual see with the thought.

The same with the hearing.

Put your hands over your ears and see what you can hear with the thought.

It's not just a pure thing,

I hear.

Now let's play a little bit of Australian.

So you know,

This thought of conceptual image can't see.

The thought I hear can't hear.

Is the thought I am aware,

Is that your awareness?

Well,

Have a look at that.

Everybody unaware right now.

No,

I'm not unaware,

I'm aware.

I'm awake,

I'm aware,

I'm here.

Did you have to search for it?

Or hasn't it been the same all the way through this conversation before?

And awareness has been there.

Even though other thoughts might have been seemingly obscuring it.

It's all taking place in that nice little element.

And the thought I see can't see,

The thought I hear can't hear,

The thought I hear is not your awareness.

It's the choice maker.

We've got this belief that we can choose our thoughts.

Why the hell would you have an unhappy or miserable or sad thought or an angry thought if you could choose them?

You choose to be that way?

I don't.

And I hear no more.

So you see,

This thought I'm editing,

This ego cannot do anything at all.

It has no substance or any independent nature.

It cannot stand on its own.

Take that life essence out of that body and you've got a corpse.

A corpse has got the eyes,

Got the ears,

Got the heart,

The lungs,

And all those organs in it.

And without that life essence,

There's not a bit of good to it.

How many thoughts can a corpse have?

Can a corpse see?

It can't.

So you see,

The body,

Mind,

Is the instrument through which those things are expressing.

Of itself,

It cannot do anything.

The pure intelligence energy is doing a lot.

Just like a computer's got all that information in it.

What can you get out of a computer if the power's not turned on?

What good is that information?

You can punch those keys forever and run that mass over.

You're not going to get anything out of it unless you've got the power on.

So the same similar thing applies here.

That life essence is not suffusing that body.

How many thoughts?

How many concepts?

How many ideas?

How many fears?

How much anxiety?

How much stress?

How much guilt,

Shame,

And remorse you've had out there?

Have a look at these things and realize what we've set ourselves up to.

This is what we point to.

And ask you to look along those lines and see for yourself.

Got any questions,

Any doubts?

Some of you have seen it and pointed out using different words that I'm pointing to.

I resonate with somebody who might hold the recognition.

But we say here,

Right from the start,

Start from the fact that whether you know it or not,

You already are that.

Because that is all there is.

You are that basic stream.

You are that stillness.

You are that silence.

In which movement and sound and vibration appears,

Disappears,

And displays,

And moves on.

Well,

I'm already that pure and intelligent.

Why?

Take the stance that you are a separate entity,

An individual thing.

And that's what we put upon ourselves.

You believe in a god,

Which we don't use that term here.

You can call the god the supreme being.

If you believe in yourself,

You call yourself a human being.

Take away that label supreme.

Take away that label human.

And try and separate the beingness in this room without any labels.

And you realize that's being a chair,

That's being a carpet,

That's being you,

That's being me,

That's being everything in this room.

Without the label,

It's just the one being.

And the same outside this room.

It's only that pure being.

If we put the labels on and separate it and discriminate on it all,

And take in our stance enough for it.

Now you might understand easily why the suffering and unhappiness and distress is there.

It doesn't have to be that way.
