Scorpion,
Keeper of Transformation and Sacred Truth,
Welcome,
My dear friends.
As we gather here in this circle,
I invite you to take a slow,
Gentle breath in and let it go softly.
Slowly,
Feel yourself arrive in this moment,
Open,
Curious and ready to receive.
Today we meet an animal that often walks the line between fear and fascination,
The scorpion.
Ancient,
Armored and misunderstood,
The scorpion doesn't appear by chance.
When it appears in your life,
Whether it's in a dream,
Symbolically,
In a vision or actually encounters,
It carries a potent message,
One that is sacred,
One that is precise.
Let us walk together into the mystery of the scorpion and hear what it has come to whisper.
The scorpion is a symbol of deep transformation,
Emotional clarity and energetic protection.
When the scorpion shows up,
It often arrives at times of shadow work,
Emotional purging,
Boundary setting and life transitions.
It is a gatekeeper of truth and it will not let you bypass what needs to be faced.
The scorpion asks,
What are you clinging to that is already dead?
Where have you allowed fear to keep you from being your full potential?
And what pain are you ready to transform into wisdom?
And just like it shed its exocon skeleton to grow,
We are invited to shed old beliefs,
Habits and patterns that no longer serves us.
Scorpion medicine is not soft,
It is precise,
Piercing and sacred.
It helps us to release emotional toxicity,
Like old resentment,
Unresolved pain and grief and guilt.
It can fester in our energy field.
Scorpion helps us to identify names and release it.
It helps us protect our energy.
Scorpion teaches us to discern with our time,
Space and emotional labor.
It is a master of energetic boundaries.
Scorpion also helps us navigate death and rebirth cycles,
Whether it's literally loss or a symbolic ending.
And scorpion holds our hand through the dark tunnels and waits with us for the light to return.
It also helps us access hidden spiritual truths.
In many traditions,
The sting of a scorpion awakens us,
Like a spiritual initiation,
And sometimes it takes a bite from life to wake up.
I found these two really unique features of scorpion as well.
One is,
They glow in moonlight.
Under UV light,
Scorpion literally glows,
Reminding us that even our darkest part can shine under the right light.
Its message is,
Your shadow has beauty too.
And the other really unique one is,
They can survive extreme conditions.
Scorpions live in deserts,
Caves,
Forests,
Even snow,
And their medicine is about resilience and adaptability.
They remind us that we are stronger than we think.
Looking at scorpions in folklore and myths,
In the ancient Egypt,
The goddess Sirkhet or Selkhet was a scorpion deity,
Protector of the dead and healer of venom.
She guided souls into the afterlife,
Offering them safety during transition.
The scorpion symbol was often placed on coffins and ambulance.
In the Greek mythology,
The scorpion was sent by Gaia to kill Orion,
The hunter who claimed he could defeat all animals.
After both were placed in the stars,
They became opposing constellations.
Orion sets as Scorpius rises.
These stories remind us that scorpion is not just an animal,
It is a divine protector of balance.
It calls out pride,
It humbles us,
It guards spiritual truth and helps us face the consequences of our actions with honesty and grace.
Of course,
The well-known story,
The scorpion and the frog.
There is an old fable told in many cultures.
A scorpion asks a frog to carry it across the river,
And frog hesitates,
It's saying you'll steam me.
The scorpion realigns,
If I do,
We'll both drown.
So,
The frog agrees,
And halfway across,
The scorpion stinks.
As they sink,
The frog asks,
Why?
The scorpion answers,
It's my nature.
This tale is often interpreted as a warning,
But if you look spiritually,
It invites us to examine our nature.
What patterns do we repeat,
Even when they harm us or others?
Scorpion medicine asks us to transform the impulses before it stinks,
To pause,
To reflect,
And to choose a new way.
So,
This story survives in telling,
Because it speaks to a human experience,
That inner conflict between instinct and choice,
Between fear and trust,
And between survival and evolution.
So,
When the scorpion appears,
Whether physically or symbolically,
Don't shy away,
Instead ask,
What truth am I asking to be seen?
Where do I need to protect my energy,
And what in me is ready to die,
So that something sacred can be born?
The scorpion is not here to hurt you,
It helps you to evolve.
So,
Take a moment to thank scorpion when it shows up for you,
For its clarity,
For its power,
For its presence,
And feel yourself grounding back into the present moment.
Just wiggle your fingers and toes.
And when you're ready,
Return with a more profound respect for the sacred work of transformation.
Now remember,
You are a brace,
You are evolving,
And you are never alone in this journey.
Thank you.
