In this Yoga Nidra, expect to listen to your body and allow the breath and Nidra to aid in the release of inflamed cells from your body. This is not a cure, but it is a mindful way to approach inflammation from a yogic perspective.

Finding a nice,

Comfortable seat or laying posture.

In Shavasana or a seat,

Supporting head with a thin pillow or a bolster,

Roll the blanket under your knees to release the lower back,

Ensuring you are warm enough.

Perhaps using a blanket as body temperature can drop during deep relaxation.

Resolve to remain still throughout the practice,

But allow yourself to move if you experience sharp pain.

Formulate a positive,

Present tense statement related to healing.

Repeat it silently three times.

Examples.

I am cool,

Calm,

And free from inflammation.

My body's natural healing intelligence is active and strong.

Healing flows through me like water with ease and grace.

Quickly move your awareness through each body part.

As you focus on each area,

Imagine a cool,

Soothing blue light washing over any hot spots of inflammation.

And abdomen.

Imagine breathing in a refreshing silver mist.

Visualize this breath as a cleansing river entering through the crown of your head.

As you exhale,

Visualize the breath carrying heat,

Redness,

And inflammatory signals down through your legs and out through the soles of your feet.

Visualize your immune cells slowing down and returning to a calm,

Balanced state.

See them remaining quiet until truly needed,

Allowing your tissues to rest and repair.

Inhaling a cleansing river through the crown of your head.

Exhale,

Releasing any inflammatory signals through your feet.

Relaxing.

Inhaling and exhaling.

Repeat your intention three more times with full belief.

Slowly become aware of the sounds around you and the feeling of your body against the floor.

Wiggle your fingers and toes.

Take a deep energizing breath.

When ready,

Roll onto your right side before slowly sitting up.

Whenever you're ready,

Find your way to your right side.
