Hi,
This is Johnson Chong,
The author of Sage Sapien from Karmatidharma,
And welcome to this meditation entitled,
This Too Shall Pass.
Close the eyes.
Open the ears.
And listen.
Listen to the sounds of the waves yearning toward the heavens,
Only to tumble down into the fathoms of the deep,
Over and over and over again.
Listen to the sounds of the waves,
Mirroring the coming and going of breath.
This sacred breath that flows in and out,
In and out.
This sacred breath that breathes life into mind,
Body and heart.
The same sacred breath that will return to spirit when life fades into nothingness.
Listen for the continuous rise and fall of this powerful vibration throbbing in the ears.
This throbbing that can be felt all throughout the feet,
Legs,
Hips,
Ribs,
Shoulders,
Head,
Spine and heart.
Listen for the moment when the rise becomes the fall.
Like a soaring eagle's wings prematurely clipped before reaching the clouds.
Like the messiness of a dream becoming a nightmare.
Listen for that moment because we have all lived that moment.
We have all felt that wave.
Remember that time when the rise became the fall?
Where ambition morphed into anxiety,
Worry,
Doubt,
Fear?
Whatever happened to those dreams?
Massive dreams that could not be contained by the vastness of the ocean itself.
Those dreams that were caught in the riptide of fearful inaction.
Remember that time when the rise became the fall.
Remember those moments as realer than real.
Remember it is in this remembrance where acceptance can be discovered,
Where acceptance can be nurtured into a thunderous sea of pure true love.
Remember.
And when that which longs to be revealed and healed becomes clearer and clearer,
Invite it,
That remembrance to come forth.
Invite it to come forth so that it may be witnessed,
It may be understood and held and met so that it can be released and let go.
Observe when confusion led to inaction for fear of leaving comfort,
Of leaving safety.
Simply observe from all angles,
Up,
Down,
Left,
Right,
All around.
Scan all of it.
Can.
Every story,
Every moment,
Every breath comes with a beginning,
A middle,
And an end.
Know this.
Trust the wisdom in this.
This is the true nature of all things.
And even in the knowledge of that,
Is it enough to know through the mind?
Can the heart know?
Is it possible for the heart to know,
To feel this knowledge embodied in the cells?
What does that feel like?
To know and feel with the heart?
The knowledge of the waves,
The knowledge of the rise and fall of all things,
The beginning,
The middle,
The end.
Trust not only in the knowledge of the mind,
But trust in the knowledge that is contained deep within the center of the heart.
Trust in this feeling.
Trust in the heart.
And trust,
Trust that this too shall pass.
As all things that have gone have passed,
As all things not yet here will pass,
This too shall pass.
