Hello,
And welcome to Day 12 of Insight Timer's Breathwork Challenge.
Time for a deep breath.
Inhale deeply and let out a soothing sigh.
Let's dive into today's session.
Hello Insight Timer community.
This exercise is designed to create a little more space and a new relationship with your very oldest,
Best friend.
Begin to breathe in through your nose and out through your nose.
Notice the temperature of your breath as it enters and exits your nostrils.
Your breath is the very first thing to greet you on your way into this world.
And it's the very last thing to leave you on your way out.
And so getting to know your breath is the very best use of your time and attention.
Notice the rise and fall of the belly and the chest,
That gentle wave-like motion in the nose and out the nose.
From the tip of the nose to the bridge of the nose.
Surfing your breath up and down.
Your breath is your board.
And today we're going to ride your breath up and down.
So as I like to say,
Since your breath is your board,
Hop on and ride.
In the nose,
Out the nose,
Noticing the tastes,
Textures,
Sights,
Sounds,
Smells and sensations associated with breathing beautifully.
Subtly in the nose,
Out the nose,
Noticing your board.
Is it a long board,
A short board,
A skateboard or a snowboard?
It's your board.
Simply hop on and ride.
Top of the nose,
Bridge of the nose,
Backs of the eyes.
Relaxing the backs of your eyes a little more.
Observing the breath in this space.
Observing anything that might feel stuck or sticky.
And beginning to allow your breath to file itself down like the edge of your board.
Observing the waves of light that you ride with your breath.
They can be tiny waves and they can be huge waves.
That's entirely up to you.
This is your imagination riding your breath.
Top of the nose,
Bridge of the nose,
Backs of the eyes.
And let go a little more.
Your breath is your board.
Your breath is your board.
Your breath,
Relaxing a little more,
Is your board.
Letting your breath do its thing a little more.
Letting go.
And the slower you enjoy your breath in and out,
The more subtly,
The more sweetly,
The more sensitively your breath can begin to move inside your brain.
Top of the nose,
Bridge of the nose,
Backs of the eyes.
Letting the breath spill out of your nostrils.
And that long slow slide from the top to the bottom and back up again.
Riding your breath up and down.
Letting go a little more.
Resting in your breath a little more.
My breath is medicine.
My breath is medicine.
My breath is medicine.
And as I ride,
It heals.
It fills.
Allowing my breath to breathe me.
Hiding the waves of light.
Filling your nose with light.
And down.
Up and down.
And since your breath is your board,
And because you're always breathing,
And because there's always air,
You can surf your breath anytime you like.
Coming back to this place and noticing the light and its relationship to your breath.
Oh,
The light.
Oh,
The light.
Oh,
The light.
Now beginning very gently.
Very sweetly.
Still breathing in the nose,
Out the nose,
And riding the breath up and down.
Simply hop off your board.
Still breathing tip of the nose,
Ridge of the nose,
And leaving the backs of the eyes to smile for the rest of your day or night.
Tip of the nose,
Ridge of the nose.
And now simply notice the breath at the tip of your nose.
And when you're ready,
Very slowly,
Very gently,
Fluttering your eyelids open very delicately like butterfly wings.
Bringing your attention back into this space and place and time.
Fully awake,
Fully aware,
And fully relaxed.
Enjoy the rest of your day or night.
This is your breath.
And remember,
Your breath is always with you.
