Hey loves,

Welcome to Safe Circle.

In case you don't know,

Safe Circle is about going against perfection to heal through art therapy.

And one of my forms of art and healing is podcasting.

So I'm super excited today that I'm going to really improvise on a topic I was just inspired to share today.

And it's about habits on boosting your confidence.

And the first one I have written down is keep learning and trying new things.

And I think that there's levels of confidence,

Right?

There's confidence with yourself and then there's confidence around people.

And I think that in the past with myself it was not a lot of confidence,

But with people there was a lot of confidence.

And now there is a lot more confidence with myself and less with people.

So I think it's really important to have a good balance.

Going back to the topic of keep learning and trying new things is that when you learn new things you always have something to talk about with people,

For example.

And you definitely seem more interested in that aspect as well.

So I think it's like a great way to just always have a conversation.

And yeah,

I think there's also that level of like.

.

.

I know for me there's that level of sharing too much.

But I think the truth is like having confidence is also being okay with who you are and what you're saying and what you do and sharing it.

Because I think there's also that aspect of like thinking that people will understand you.

Because I know for me like I,

You know,

I spend a lot of my time meditating and doing yoga and it is a huge part of my life and reflecting.

And it's not necessarily something I go around talking a lot about but I feel like it is important to talk about those things because the truth is like a lot of people can probably relate to it.

And that could,

You know,

Be a connection that you never have because you don't express that.

And another one is using confident body language.

There's so many but these are just some of them.

One of them is practice smiling.

And as I was reading about it,

Not only does it make you more trustworthy and attractive but you also improve your stress level and your feelings about yourself.

So honestly that's worth a smile.

Secondly,

Paying attention to your posture.

And third is engaging body language.

Also another one is dress for confidence.

If,

You know,

Getting ready,

Taking a little longer to get ready a day is gonna make you feel better and the interaction then go ahead and do that.

You know,

Whatever makes you feel more confident and comfortable in the moment.

And also practice appropriate eye contact.

That's kind of nerve-wracking to give a lot of eye contact.

I definitely do give eye contact but I'm always like telling myself,

You know,

Don't be afraid to give eye contact.

So I feel like it's a little thing but it definitely shows more confidence when you do it.

And I know there's this,

There's this like saying that if you're afraid of something go for it.

So you know if you're afraid to give eye contact then why not go for that.

Or like if you're afraid to talk to someone go talk to them.

And then we have speak with a confident voice.

Speak up for yourself and when you talk be sure of what you're saying.

Don't be doubtful.

Sometimes that can reflect in your voice.

And also ways to make your voice more confident is speak with energy,

Speak with passion,

Watching like how you speak.

Finish a sentence with like a question but instead of it being a question let it be a full statement if that makes sense.

So you can be like my name is Arcadia and that would be you know like a question like you're not very confident you're uncertain but if I'm like I'm Arcadia there's like that level of confidence.

So yeah then we also have don't compare yourself to other people.

And this one is a huge one and I feel like if you're on this spiritual journey and you're on insight timer you're already gonna have this awareness that you are not trying to compare yourself to other people.

I think the truth is like we all compare ourselves but it's important not to.

To always find qualities about yourself that make you shine,

Make you different,

Make you unique.

So yeah and I think it's also just kind of not looking to people for other people for answers all the time or you know just like enjoying your own company.

You know getting to know who you are.

Comparing yourself is always there but it's important to decrease our attention in those areas that we feel we're weak to.

You know like social media decrease that if that makes you less confident.

Then we also have positive self-talk every morning.

Usually when I go to bed I do things I'm grateful for and then when I wake up I've started to do like my safe circle practice which involves yoga and meditation and sometimes before it all I'll do a kind of a reflection on the day the past day and what I've learned or noticed and I'll like record it or journal it and just kind of like reflect on it and I think that's that's a way of like like positive affirmation in some way like be like oh that was really great what I did or even again like meditating like that's already like if you're doing guided meditations you're already working on your self-talk but I think making the time for yourself to have that reflection to meditate to just be is already gonna make such a difference and then we have creating affirmations for confidence and this one you know again it's very self-explanatory in terms of when we meditate you know we have affirmations or any patterns or triggers that go on in our day we can just replace them with it's okay or I am powerful I am fearless my favorite ones that I came up with today I'm insecure about how I talk because I I don't know I just I can never find the right words to express myself and I feel like if I'm like telling a story and I can't think of a word I just ruined the whole story you know I don't know anyway so one of my affirmations is I talk effortlessly and express myself with ease so whenever I feel less confident that's a way that I can build myself back up and another one is I have beautiful curves and all the right places so again if I ever feel less confident about my body that's something I can say when I feel triggered I honestly feel like I can always do more affirmations in my day sometimes there's just so many things you have to remember in a day that something as simple as an affirmation is you can forget so it's nice to remind yourself of of that then we have embrace fear one thing that I've heard from someone is when you feel fear turn it into excitement I think scientifically when you're afraid it's very similar to excitement in terms of what's going on in the body and also when you realize you're afraid you can manage it doing meditation or breathing exercises or doing something else to distract yourself for the time being and also like rewarding yourself when you overcome a fear yeah I think that's important and also doing something daily that you know you're afraid of and I was kind of thinking about that I was like how can I do something every day that I'm afraid of and I thought about how like saying simple things like sorry that I overreacted about the situation I definitely do that but sometimes like it's not like a easy thing that I just do effortlessly like it's something I have to like build myself up to do it so I felt like that's like a great way to say like when you're just honest and vulnerable to people that's like an easy way to be fearless in a day that's what I thought of but yeah once you get in a habit of just doing things that make you afraid it becomes easy and easier to handle so then we have finding a lesson in every experience so again I feel like if you're on a spiritual journey you're on insight timer in some way you're building this awareness and or you're trying to let go of your past I feel like you're already in the right direction but yeah I think once you're able to reshape and reframe your past experiences you're already on a better journey because once you can let go of everything you can live presently and look forward to the future so then we have look to others for inspiration so this one's a fun one for me I kind of came up with like three women that I feel like I can take characteristics from them you know that they're strong in so one of them is Lady Gaga overall she's just an amazing human you know her story is amazing she's super fearless very vulnerable multi-talented but yeah she's also like really humble and she speaks so beautifully and it's just like whenever she talks everyone's listening and whenever she's in a room she's like the star so yeah I think like her fearlessness and her resilience is like what I'm looking to it's just like always doing something new and doesn't really care what people think and she's always weird and it's amazing so she's one of them and then I have Selena Gomez and I feel like I really love her because I feel like she has like a quiet confidence she has like a little of a mystery on which I'm always like I always love a little mystery but yeah she's also just so kind same with Lady Gaga so kind I feel like she has like this element of a spiritual heart and she's also like always sets back you know she's done a lot of producing roles behind the scenes and I can appreciate people who you know are confident but they can let people talk to like there has to be that balance so yeah and then I also have Jennifer Lawrence she's not even necessarily funny she's just like she's very random and just doesn't care like what people think of her and how she says it very like losing control aspect of who you are when you're in front of people and I kind of want that and I feel like that is a cool way to live your life and I also really love her character and silver linings playbook she's kind of like really dramatic character but she's also like really honest and like kind of the sarcastic way which I kind of always loved about her because I felt like I had like a similar sarcasm and it's just cool to see it reflected I mean obviously hers is a little bit more dramatic but yeah I don't know I always wanted to be more honest so I look to that as a way to be honest and then lastly Zoe Kravis I don't know too much about her in real life but I know her character from high fidelity and she's like this really cool chick she definitely has like character flaws in the show which honestly is a good way to look at like what not to do but like I think that element of being cool because I really love fashion and expressing myself through fashion so I think it's a way that I look to you know that cool element and I also think it's always super cool to like have a cool sense of style but be super humble like I love that combination in a person so yeah and then I have trust your gut and again if you're on this journey you're learning to trust your intuition trust yourself I think it's really important to take your advice over other people yeah consider your opinion higher than others another example is like going for something that maybe you're afraid to like you know like if you are interested in someone or you want to ask them about something you're like oh should I and you don't like I feel like you should you never know what could come out from that but also just like just just you're good you know like just go for things and then I have believing yourself no matter what and this is being your number one fan knowing yourself knowing how to pick yourself back up again on this journey if you're on insight time where you're already doing this in some way yeah meditation is the number one way to learn that takes time well worth the time and then what are some things you love about yourself and for me I wrote down my sarcasm and then randomly being honest and then another one is that I'm super introspective and reflective and I'm always curious about learning new things so I really love that about myself and then we have I wrote down here if you do speak another language a way to feel confident is to find more words to express yourself with for me I actually write poetry and it is a way for me to be confident and to learn new words to just gain that confidence in you know speaking so that's a way you can overcome it and also just you know learning new words vocabulary and then finally is not taking yourself too seriously laugh things off and don't take people too serious and laugh all your mistakes too like I think if we could laugh more we just would be in a more peaceful place and yeah the fact that you can release more stress by smiling like it's the same thing with laughing I'm sure so yeah just like chill dance don't take yourself too serious and life is good so yeah just a quick overview of everything I mentioned today we have habits to boost your confidence we have keep learning and try new things use confident body language speak with a confident voice don't compare yourself with others use positive self-talk every morning create affirmations for yourself confidence embrace your fear find a lesson in every experience look to others for inspiration dress your gut believing yourself no matter what lists things you love about yourself gain confidence in an area that you feel less confident don't take yourself too serious and laugh things off so this was a circle thank you for listening again and namaste
