Hey my loves!

I just wanted to come on here and do a quick little talk.

I know that we're still in a weird space with COVID.

Some of us are looking for new jobs or just have new meetings or a lot of new change.

But particularly it's going to be geared towards getting ready for an interview of any kind or meeting to someone.

So yeah,

Just really speaking from my heart today.

But yeah,

Let's go.

So just some reminders to give you some ease.

The first one I have is smile.

It's already proven that it just makes you feel better if you can smile.

It's definitely something I want to work on.

Even when you're by yourself,

I feel like if you could smile,

We'd probably be in such a better mood.

So just smile.

That's like the best asset.

And then change fear into excitement.

I've heard that scientifically it's a very similar thing that goes on in the body for fear and excitement.

So just remember that.

And just,

I think something I wanted to do before the interview is I wanted to run around or jump around or dance.

But just to kind of get that,

You know,

The body moving and stuff.

And then prepare and let go.

So do whatever you need to do,

You know,

Prepare,

Prepare,

Prepare.

But in the end,

I feel like when you're interviewing,

At least the way I feel is like you can't rely on all the stuff you are going over.

Just let go.

Let it all be.

You know what I mean?

And then I have accept that mistakes happen.

So this one I feel like is a big one for me.

It's like accepting that it won't be perfect.

Also accepting that we may not say everything perfectly.

We may miss points.

There may even be a question or something that comes up that we don't know how to answer but the reality is like if we're in the space and we've already prepared and we already know about the field,

For example,

Then we're already going to have some sort of opinion or something that we can say about it.

So don't stress too much.

And at the end of the day,

There's no real wrong or right answers.

I mean it's not a test,

Right?

And then show your passion.

Like I think sometimes I worry when I talk.

Maybe I'm not so professional or whatever.

But I think the thing that I really enjoy about myself is,

You know,

I like to talk with passion.

I don't know if I'm always doing it but I feel like I try to do it.

And yeah,

Just speak with passion.

You know,

Like why are you there?

If it's your dream job,

You know,

Something you've wanted for a long time,

You know,

Just speak from the heart.

And then this is one kind of goes into this other one.

It's be present,

Speak from the heart and trust.

So I know for me,

Like I've been preparing and trying to be so ready for anything.

But the reality is that I can't rely on my notes,

My cards or whatever.

Like I need to speak to them like I'm human.

And so I tell myself like the truth is it's all in you.

These answers came from your heart.

So just speak from your heart.

You don't need them.

Another thing I've been doing is like when I'm practicing is like I don't look at my notes.

I'm like I don't need my notes.

I've literally been going over however many times I can just speak from my heart.

So just speak from your heart and also trust.

Trust that it will work out.

You will be able to speak from your heart and just trust that everything will work out.

It will be okay,

You know,

Everything happens for a reason.

And yeah,

You know,

Like sometimes it's hard but like trust that everything will be okay.

And remember that the interview is a two-way street.

So obviously to some degree,

You know,

We're going to want that job.

You know,

So it's going to be kind of hard.

But the truth is that you are finding out about the school or the interview just as much as they're trying to find out about you.

I mean it may be focused on you but still it's your opportunity to ask any questions,

You know what I mean?

Because sometimes I feel like when you want something you kind of feel like you're a little less but you're not.

Like just remember that it's a two-way thing,

You know.

And then this one also kind of goes into the previous one.

Remember that they selected you because they are already interested in you to some degree,

You know.

Like for instance like colleges for example.

Like I mean the reality is that we're paying to go there and you know,

I don't know about every job.

But I would imagine they're going to choose some people that they think,

You know,

Have things that they look for.

So to some degree they're already interested in you.

They just want to know some more or they just want to confirm that you are great,

You know,

Which I'm sure that you are.

But yeah,

And then accept that nerves will come and go.

Yeah,

Like it's the day before my interview and I'm telling myself I'm probably going to be nervous today.

I was nervous yesterday.

I'm probably going to be nervous tonight.

I'm probably going to be nervous tomorrow.

Probably going to be nervous right before the interview.

I'm probably going to be nervous as I'm talking in the beginning.

But it will go away.

It will pass.

Everything will be normal afterwards.

And you can even like celebrate afterwards.

Which honestly that should be another one.

I would say,

Although we're still going through it,

But just remember to celebrate after you're done.

You know,

I think we don't do that.

We're not like I'm proud of you for preparing and taking the time.

But yeah,

Celebrate after and that can be something for you to look forward to be like,

Afterwards I'm going to watch one of my favorite movies or something.

You know?

Something to look forward to after.

And then,

This one is a great one.

I said,

The worst thing that can happen is that you forget how to talk and you forget your purpose or why you're there.

Because the truth is like things are going to come out.

You know what I mean?

So,

I was like that's the worst thing that can happen.

Because I'm already accepting that mistakes can happen.

But the worst thing would be if I didn't say anything.

And then,

Mentally set yourself up for the best.

So,

You know like for me,

Usually when I have interviews or work or whatever it is.

I wake up early and I get all my routines done.

And then I prepare and then I get ready.

And then I maybe prepare again or whatever it is we need to do to like really relax and get into the mood.

And like you know,

Do whatever it is.

You know,

Breathing techniques.

Which is also another one I believe I missed.

But that's okay.

Breathe.

Breathe.

It's so important.

You know?

I would say if there's something I can like practice to do or advice.

It would be is to breathe.

To obviously breathe in the interview.

That's really important.

But also just like before.

Like set yourself up with a great breathing technique.

You know what I mean?

Just so like,

Because that will really help bring the nerves down.

And yeah.

And just remember when the interview starts.

Generally your nerves are going to go away.

So it's going to be there.

But once you start talking and things it will go away.

So don't worry.

And plus it's all just being a human.

And we've all been in situations where we're being interviewed to some degree.

Pretty much everyone in some ways or another.

So we don't have to do it.

And I think,

You know,

At the end of the day get excited.

Like regardless if we get it or not.

Which of course we hope that we get something we really want.

The job or the college or whatever it is.

But also remember that it's a step.

You know?

Like I know in the past when I would start interviewing.

Like you know,

Just starting to interview is always a good thing.

Because it gets you in the mood of what to say and think about.

And you know,

That's why I told myself.

Because you know,

There may be some more interviews for me in the future.

So I was like this is a great way for me to get back into it this season.

You know,

Whatever.

So just get excited.

And you know,

Give yourself credit for like what you're doing and what you're learning.

You know,

It's great to just like expand on your professional skills.

You know?

So that is all that I have for you today.

I hope this can help in some way to ease some of your anxiety.

And yeah,

Thank you for listening.

Namaste.
