So welcome to this yoga nidra.

So we'll begin by taking a little bit of time to position our body comfortably.

And if you're lying on your back just separate your feet about hip distance apart.

If you have any props available maybe a pillow or bolster under the knees,

Maybe something small underneath the head.

And you may wish to cover yourself with a blanket,

Possibly covering the eyes as well with an eye pillow or scarf just to block the light out.

So once you've taken time to get your positioning and props ready and just separate the hands,

Let them rest by the sides of the body with the palms turned upwards.

And then maybe take a moment to tuck the shoulders underneath the body and just let the spine roll back down.

And then if you haven't done so already just softly closing the eyes.

So just keeping that idea of comfort in mind,

Just see if you can make any final tweaks and adjustments so that the body can become maybe five percent more comfortable than what it already is.

Good.

And then from here just bringing the awareness to the face.

Just starting to allow the forehead to soften.

Eyes and cheeks to relax.

Just loosening the jaw.

Allowing the tongue to fall away from the roof of the mouth and just start to rest.

And then just allowing that softness from the face to travel down to the chest and shoulders.

To the torso and the legs.

And then just sensing this feeling of heaviness throughout the entire body.

Take a moment just to notice the touch of the breath.

Without changing it just experiencing the inhale and exhale coming and going.

And then just to help relax the body a little further just take a longer inhale and a very slow deep exhale.

And again slightly longer inhale and a very slow deep exhale.

One more time longer inhale and a very slow deep exhale.

Good.

And now just saying to yourself in your mind I am aware.

I am aware that I'm about to practice yoga nidra.

Saying in the mind I am aware.

I am aware that I'm about to practice yoga nidra.

And now we move through a process of rotating the awareness around the body.

So just staying with the guidance of my voice as I name various body parts.

And as I name those body parts just sense into that area.

Maybe repeat the name of the body part in the mind.

Begin by bringing the awareness to the right hand.

The right hand thumb.
