Thank you for joining me in this practice today.
After this guided meditation,
I invite you to stick around for a handful of journal prompts that can be worked with to deepen your experience and awareness around allowing yourself to be supported.
So take a moment here to settle in.
Let your body find a comfortable position,
Preferably laying down,
To allow for a full surrender into the experience.
And gently allow your eyes to close.
Bring your awareness inward,
Letting the noise of the outside world begin to fade.
And start to follow the rhythm of your breath.
Inhale deeply through the nose,
And exhale slowly through the nose.
Continue to breathe deeply,
And exhale slowly,
Intentionally.
Each time you exhale,
Imagining that you're melting just a little more into the moment,
Into your body.
Now allow your breath to return to a gentle,
Natural rhythm.
Breathe in whatever way is most comfortable for you in this moment.
And with every exhale,
Imagine yourself softening,
Releasing the weight that you've been carrying.
There's nowhere to go right now.
Nothing to do.
No one to be.
Just this breath,
And this moment.
And now bring your attention to the base of your body.
Feel the connection between you and the ground beneath you.
Whether it's the floor,
Or a bed,
Or the earth directly.
You are supported in this space.
Feel into that.
Really feel it.
You are held.
By the earth.
By gravity.
By something ancient and steady.
By gravity that asks nothing of you.
Nothing from you.
Nothing except that you allow yourself to lean back and trust.
There is nothing you need to hold up right now.
No strength that you need to summon.
Not here.
Now begin to call in the presence of the people who love you.
Genuinely,
Unconditionally,
In their own way.
A friend,
A family member,
A guide.
Someone who's shown you kindness,
Even in the smallest way.
Picture them surrounding you like a soft ring of light.
They don't need anything from you.
They are simply here.
To witness you.
To support you.
To hold space.
Let that in.
Let yourself receive it.
Let yourself feel it.
Even if it feels unfamiliar.
Practice receiving it anyway.
You don't have to earn this support.
You don't have to prove your worth.
It is already here.
All around you.
Within you.
Now allow yourself to imagine something even greater.
Wiser.
Older.
More timeless.
Not a person.
Not a name.
Just a presence.
A presence that is vast.
Loving.
Benevolent.
It's not asking you to do anything or to be anyone.
It simply invites you to rest.
And receive.
Let yourself sink into that.
Let yourself surrender.
And be held by this presence.
This is something that is bigger than you.
That doesn't judge or rush or expect anything in return.
It's only here to support you.
It's here to love you.
And to hold you.
Let your breath deepen again now.
Take a few more breaths like this.
Inhale support.
Exhale surrender.
Inhale support.
Exhale surrender.
And when you're ready,
Begin to return slowly.
Feel your body.
Feel the surface beneath you once again.
Bring movement to your fingers and toes.
And when it feels right,
Gently open your eyes.
You are supported.
You are never alone.
And you can return to this space anytime you need to remember that you are held.
If you'd like to further explore what came up for you during this meditation,
There are a few questions to sit with and journal on.
I will read each question,
Offer a moment for you to pause the recording and write it down.
And continue until every question has been offered.
Where in my life am I still trying to hold it all together on my own?
Two,
What does true support feel like in my body?
Can I describe it using sensations,
Images or metaphors?
Three,
Who in my life offers me genuine support and am I allowing myself to receive it fully?
Four,
What would it look like to trust something bigger than myself,
Even just a little more today?
Five,
If I believed I was truly supported,
How might that change how I move through the world?
Thank you for joining me today.
