Awakening your inner guide,
A meditation for developing your intuition.
As humans,
Our greatest longing is for answers to life's most profound questions.
Who am I and why am I here?
This curiosity arises from a general sense that there is more to life than what we are currently experiencing.
In the search for who we are,
What we are longing for is a sense of fulfillment.
Whether we are conscious of it or not,
This need for fulfillment burns within us,
Beneath the surface of every desire.
It shapes every ambition and ultimately fuels our sense of purpose.
The desire to know,
Who am I and why am I here,
Directs our outward experience and propels us to search for fulfillment and satisfaction.
As humans,
We are also naturally conditioned to seek out external sources of validation.
We look for a confirmation of who we are in our relationships,
Our work,
Anything that will appease our need for approval and acceptance and ultimately lead to that sense of fulfillment.
It is only when we have arrived at the conclusion that nothing outside of ourselves will ever satiate our longing that we become willing to explore our inner life.
Our inner life is composed of feelings and thoughts that arise both from conditioned responses whose source is the reasoning mind and also from a knowingness,
Something we know instinctively without the need for reasoning.
We will refer to this knowingness as our intuition.
Our intuition is a trusted and unfailing source of guidance that each one of us can rely on to satisfy our desire to know who we are and why we are here.
If we allow our intuition to direct our path,
We can live a life that is at last an authentic expression of who we are and each step we take will feel like fulfillment itself.
The biggest obstacle to listening to our intuition and feeling that sense of knowing is our reasoning mind.
It echoes thoughts and beliefs we have formed based on past experiences and it creates doubt.
Our reasoning mind,
Also known as the ego mind,
Tends to overpower our sense of knowing with questioning uncertainty.
Every challenge it presents to the clarity of the information available through our intuition is a form of fear.
If you are feeling doubtful,
It is because you are afraid of something.
If you are afraid of something,
You are experiencing the effects of your reasoning mind and not the effortless clarity of your intuition.
If we can learn to quiet the reasoning mind and all of the doubt that can arise from it,
We can then have pure access to this intuitive guidance we are receiving.
Our intuition then becomes clear and we can make choices in complete faith that we are on the correct path.
It is only through our intuition that our best path is revealed to us.
Living from a place of complete faith also allows each of us to feel safe,
At peace and provided for,
Every step of the way.
The following meditation will assist you in having a direct experience of knowing and trusting your intuition.
Let's begin now to center ourselves and prepare the way for our intuition to speak to us.
Close your eyes and sit comfortably.
Bring your attention to your breath.
Become increasingly aware of the breath as it moves in and out of your body,
Through your nose,
Filling up the lungs and expanding in the belly.
See if you can concentrate on your breath.
This will allow you to become completely immersed in the present moment,
Silencing all other distractions such as thoughts,
Feelings or physical sensations.
A single focus on the breath will assist in allowing your intuition to express itself.
Breathe in and out,
Becoming more relaxed as you do so,
Becoming more and more present.
In the present moment,
There is a sense of who we are.
We become aware of a quiet stillness,
An impermeable peace at the core of each of us.
This is our essence.
The truth of who we are is beginning to reveal itself.
Breathe and enjoy the stillness.
Now we will intentionally create a state of alignment so that you can start to feel into your intuition.
Repeat silently to yourself.
I am willing to awaken my inner guide.
I trust that my intuition knows the answer to all of my questions.
I allow myself to deeply listen and feel what my intuition is revealing to me.
While remaining aware of your breath,
Begin to direct your focus on the inquiry.
Who am I?
Feel a sincere desire to know and open your heart to any form of communication.
It can be a sound,
An image,
A feeling,
A word,
Or even a phrase.
The first response is always the correct one.
Remember that our intuition is a clear sense of knowing,
Void of doubt.
You may find yourself judging what you experience.
Simply observe the mind and its judgments without identifying with it.
Stay connected to what you are feeling.
Even if only for a brief moment,
The clarity of our intuition is all-powerful and always guiding us into what serves our highest good.
Allow it to speak to you and trust it.
Who am I?
While remaining aware of your breath,
Begin to direct your focus on the next inquiry.
Why am I here?
Again,
Feel a sincere desire to know and open your heart to any form of communication.
Trust whatever guidance is being revealed to you as the beginning of satisfying your question.
Why am I here?
You can use this process to ask for guidance about any question that rests on your heart.
With continued practice,
You'll begin to rely on and trust your intuition in every matter where you might be wondering what is best for you,
Or simply wondering about the nature of something.
Allowing this pure and loving guidance to direct your path is the surest way to fulfill your potential and to live a meaningful life.
Staying open to whatever is being revealed to you,
Let's now solidify your belief in this process with a sense of completion for all that you have received.
Repeat silently to yourself,
I trust and allow my inner guide to direct my path with clarity.
I am at peace with myself and the life that I am creating.
Slowly start to bring your awareness back to your body.
Choose to return to your physical experience with the understanding that this new awareness of your inner guide is completely intact.
It is accessible to you always.
Trust that this process has opened your heart and that your sense of knowing will continue to reveal itself whenever you need it.
Begin to feel gratitude for this wonderful tool you can always turn to in any state you may find yourself.
When you feel ready,
You can open your eyes.
