Hello.
In this session,
We're going to explore what it's like to be still and connect with ourselves.
It is through the inner connection that we uncover tremendous peace from within.
And through this practice,
You'll just be a more peaceful person.
Go ahead and close your eyes and ensure that you're seated comfortably or are laying down comfortably.
And let's set the intention to go within and explore stillness,
Explore connecting with ourselves.
And you know,
These days,
It is very challenging to do that sometimes.
We live in a world full of distractions.
And with so many distractions,
It's hard to focus.
And most importantly,
It becomes hard to focus on ourselves and to go on a journey within.
So let's develop that focus together right now.
And your first step is to set an intention.
Your intention simply is to spend time with yourself right now.
And that's it.
And it goes like this.
I am setting time aside to be with myself,
Free of distractions,
Completely focused and committed to the process.
Let's breathe together.
Breathe in and breathe out.
Breathe in.
Continue breathing.
And as you breathe,
You'll notice that your mind will try to avoid what we're going through right now.
It will try to avoid letting you be still and sitting and not doing anything.
You'll want to maybe reach for your phone or a glass of water or to run to the washroom or to check your emails or to pay a bill.
So much urgency.
And this is just the mind telling you,
I don't like this.
I don't want to be still.
But it's this training of being still and being non-reactive that makes you a calmer and more peaceful person.
And we just do this more and more.
We sit and we do nothing.
That's all we're doing.
There's no modality.
There's no process.
It's very uncomplicated.
We sit and we do nothing at all.
And the monkey mind will try to distract us as much as possible.
And that's okay.
Let the mind be as it is.
There is no need to engage with the mind.
Every time the mind distracts you and you start daydreaming,
Bring yourself back to this moment that we're sharing together.
Keep bringing yourself back over and over again.
The more you keep your focus on the now,
The more you will be in the now all the time.
And this will keep you away from your mind and the busyness and the craziness of the mind.
No need to push your thoughts away.
And there's also no need to push your emotions away.
Just keep bringing yourself back to this moment,
This moment of just doing nothing.
There's nowhere to go.
There's nothing to do.
Let go of your distractions,
Your obligations,
Your responsibilities.
Let go of everything you're accountable for.
Let go of any stories around how people depend on you.
Let go of it all.
This is how we empty out.
We let go and we keep bringing ourselves into the present moment.
And over time,
Slowly,
Space starts to form between ourselves and our thoughts.
And we begin to realize we're not our thoughts.
We're not our emotions.
So who are we?
What are we?
Who am I?
Right?
Ask yourself,
Who am I without my thoughts?
Who am I without my emotions?
But don't let the question lead you down a rabbit hole of thoughts and imagination.
Keep bringing yourself to this moment.
It's quiet right now.
There's nothing to do.
Nowhere to be.
No one to be.
Explore this stillness,
This quietness.
What's it like not having your body constantly react to different things?
An impulse to go reach for the phone.
To go get a glass of water.
To check your emails.
Bring yourself into focus in this present moment.
There is nothing for you to do right now.
The more you train yourself to be non-reactive,
The more you become non-reactive,
The less you will reach for distractions.
And the more inner peace you will feel.
This is the practice of simply being.
This is how we build a connection with ourselves.
By pulling our attention inward.
Rather than constantly being distracted by external stimuli.
In case you're wondering,
Okay,
It's quiet.
Now what?
What do I do?
Nothing.
And that's the point.
Nothing at all.
We're spending time with ourselves.
And in this process,
We're learning to be with ourselves.
And to form a connection with ourselves.
And this becomes a segue into building a relationship with ourselves.
It's hard to have healthy relationships with others if we don't have healthy relationships with ourselves.
It's hard to be present with others if we're not present with ourselves.
Be present with yourself now.
And just observe everything you're thinking and feeling.
Observe your body as well.
Observe your body sensations.
Your body's posture.
How your body feels.
Be the witness of your experience as a human right now.
What do you notice about yourself?
By simply witnessing yourself.
Witness your thoughts.
And witness your emotions.
Witness your body.
Witness your existence as a person.
What is that like?
If the mind grows restless,
Leave it be.
You are not your mind.
The mind is the source of all suffering.
The mind will deny you a true connection with yourself It will keep you in a place of having,
Wanting,
Needing,
Lacking.
You don't need that right now.
Keep bringing your attention to the present moment.
Be with yourself.
Be with yourself in this moment.
And there is nowhere else for you to be.
And don't judge your experience.
There's no need to think thoughts like I need to quiet my mind.
Why can't I quiet my mind?
Why can't I be present?
Why can't I be still?
This creates more restlessness inside.
More agitation.
If you're able to sit through this recording without reaching for your phone or reaching for some kind of distraction then you've already made a lot of progress.
Stay with yourself.
Over time the mind gets quiet.
Emotions get quiet.
And there's this emptying out.
Needing to be stimulated.
Needing to be busy.
And what starts to form inside is absolutely nothing.
And that means there's blankness,
Emptiness quiet,
Stillness within.
There is nothing in this moment.
This moment is absolutely meaningless.
It is free of meaning.
It is free of having to do anything.
It is free of having to be purposeful.
It's wonderful to feel emptied out.
It's a lighter.
It feels lighter.
It's wonderful to not have anything to do.
To not strive to be someone or to be there for others.
This is how we rest.
This is how we learn to be with ourselves and learn to be still.
When we quiet the mind from building a habit of stillness,
We open ourselves up to greater creativity,
Inspiration,
Intuition.
Life is better this way.
Life is better when it's quiet inside,
When it's peaceful inside.
I invite you to continue this meditation as long as you'd like.
If you'd like to come out of it,
You can open your eyes at any point.
You can wiggle your fingers and toes and come back into your body.
I hope that this was a very relaxing session for you.
I encourage you to repeat this as many times as you can.
It will be good for you.
It will be good because you'll feel centered,
Grounded,
Balanced.
You'll have more peace inside.
You'll feel still.
Thank you for sharing this space with me.
I wish you a wonderful rest of your day.
